I've seen some other people with this problem, but there have been no fixes.
The problem is that the phone was updated to Lollipop. It worked for a little bit, but after a couple of minutes lots of programs started force quitting, and it eventually turned off.
When it turns on, it takes about 20 minutes, and then goes into fastboot mode.
If I try to get into download mode, it stays on download mode for around 15 seconds, and then it continues into fastboot mode. Windows does not recognize the phone in download mode, so I can't restore anything from there.
What I have learned then is that I need to flash the laf.img file, which I got from download the official firmware from LG's website by inserting my IMEI, so it's the right version, and then trying both fastboot flash laf laf.img, as well as fastboot
boot laf.img. The problem is that they both fail writing, but it's not just that command. I can't do fastboot erase recovery, or fastboot erase anything, only thing that works is fastboot reboot.
Does this mean that the internal storage is broken? Is there anything else I can do? I can execute fastboot commands, but it seems like I cannot write anything. The drivers seem to be working, as it's recognized as a fastboot devices, but it only says
? fastboot devices
All commands result in a error(failure or something like that. I've removed the SD card as well, as I heard that might cause problems. As far as I know, I need to flash the laf.img to get into download mode, and from there on can flash via kdz.
Help please? This kind of sucks..
When you write a command, does it show on the phone?
You might need to change the driver in device manager. Look for "Android", update driver, browse my computer..., let me pick from a list, and here you'll see 3 different drivers, what you want is "Android bootloader interface"
hi
Hi dear frends.
Its sad to know that all you guys cant go to download mode or facing security error or stuck in lg logo or in fastboot mode
And some guys stuck qhsuab bulk 9008
So the solution is here.
If you are unable to get into download mode then you need to force your g3 into qhsusb bulk mode by shorting the test point.
I will help u all guys.....
I will help u to unbrick ur any lg model wothout download mode or stuck in 9008 or anytype of problem.

What happened was that I tried to update via Mi Suite
Everything completed nicely but it just wont boot at all
Is there anyway to wipe data without waiting for the unlocking procedure from xiaomi?
There's no recovery menu apparently
Edit: Managed to solved it by booting into EDL mode
How did you boot it in EDL mode? Just curious... I've tried couple of methods but it wouldn't enter EDL.

Power off or restart
press both vol+ and vol-
insert usb while pressing
should viberate at this point
then it should request to install qualcomm drivers
with the current setup of Max, you cannot boot into EDL from adb? or maybe you are doing it wrong.
what i did was to boot on fastboot mode, then issue the command
Code:
reboot oem edl
the command is different for Mi Max.
I have exactly the same problem. But I'm not experienced on Fastboot, as my second phone is a S3 which is way easier to unlock.
Could you describe in more detail how you have accessed the EDL mode? The only thing I can use is "The Fastboot-Bunny" which does not help at all.
When I use the Vol+/- method my screen stays black and my phone connects to the pc. But how did you continue now?
Could you provide a link to the software?
Thank you very much in advance.
(Can not use my phone since update, exactly the same situation...)
When I do as you told, my phone shows a black screen. I don't know whether the phone is really on or off. I hear the "connect-sound" of windows, it seems to be connected as I can see it as "Qualcomm HS-USB QDloader 9008 (COM10),
but what do I have to do now??

If you see Qualcomm HS-USB QDloader 9008 (COM10), run Mi Flash and flash the ROM again.
MiFlash won't work due to locked bootloader. I already tried it. Flashing Rom with MiSuite does not help too.
Ooopps no way you can do it yourself. The only chance is the unlocked bootloader. From there you can install twrp then supersu(newer super su fixes the boot for my case)
We have the same problem. But mine is unlocked bootloader.
What i did is boot to fastboot. Flash the rom with miflash. Then i turned it off because its still useless if i wait it still stock at mi logo so i boot fastboot again and flash twrp. from there adb i reboot to twrp then flash supersu. I wait like 10 mins only and yes it boot to normal
You can install TWRP on it follow this guide even if the bootloader is locked:

MiFlash can work both in FastBoot or EDL modes. In FastBoot mode, locked bootloader prevents FastBoot server to execute "flash" command. But in EDL mode, MiFlash works with any bootloader state.
Anyone can help me?
My phone was dead, no fastboot no edl mode. My pc just show me hs-usb diagnostic 900e instead of the qloader.
Maybe any solution please

So in EDL mode with a locked bootloader will it unlock the bootloader? I am confused abt whether this is the case if I choose "delete all" which will prob incl data & bootloader.
It also seems in fastboot mode, mi flash can only work with unlock bootloader. Any reasons why unlocking is required?

Hi guys,
Some people including me faced Hard brick issue with LG G4, which has now two solutions. the first is temporary, i discovered it and it involves using an SD card flashed with Original EMMC dump ( i tested it with H815 ands H811) , the second needs advanced hardware, equipment and soldering skills ( JTAG) .
The solution that i want to explore is trying to revive the phone with the SD card.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/development/unbrick-lg-g4-h811-9008-qualcomm-t3456417
http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/development/unbrick-lg-g4-h815-9008-qualcomm-t3452853
The H811 dump that i made has TWRP recovery and unlocked bootlloader, so if someone know how to help that would be awesome.
How ???, its very simple. I dont have very good UNIX architecture skills , but if the SoC successfully booted from the SD card. We could see if it detects the EMMC memory ( with parted or with LS command). I personally Tried to brow /dev/block directory from TWRP i hoped to find MMCBLK1 or something but that was unsuccessful , im pretty sure the TWRP or the Soc Does not mount it automatically .
I really dont know How , but i'm very Sure that there is a Solution headed that way , So if some one is Good with Unix architecture and can find a way to soft Flash the EMMC from TWRP ( installed in the SD card ) it would be very Nice
hi,i tried the sd card method...it boots but immediately gives me secure boot error (1006).
i have an h815 bl locked
Hello
I have LG H815 and have bricked. I have installed wrong firmware so it is brick now.
I try new tot file with QPST . but it says fail what s wrong with me?
My computer is win 10 64 bit
You can fix fastboot mode with this way.
1. First you need to download stock rom that your phone supported. extract laf.img file from rom and copy it into fastboot directory
2. download LG Flash Tool and make it ready
3. open flash tool and load firmware and dll that support your model.
open command prompt and make sure you in fastboot directory where the fastboot and related files are stored.
Run following commands.
fastboot erase recovery
fastboot erase laf
fastboot flash laf laf.img
fastboot reboot

Hello, well after what happened I thought the same and went to buy another battery and when they tried it did not work, I repeat, not fastboot, no logo, no recovery, only a small vibration without screen, it is not detected by the PC in any of its modes as dead, the detail is that this happened after restarting when I had flashed bootloader N, rom V30, magiistic, I gave it restart and it did not turn on again, so I discard that it is hardware .
I think the problem was that I flashed the bootloader with full aboot, that gave me hardbrick I was told in a forum in Spanish I leave the link I hope you help me thanks

Hey MichaelCV
I have exactly the same problem with my LG G4 H815p. I was running [ROM][H815] H-ROM G4 NOUGAT [v29a] _ LG G4. The phone was up and running and last night I flashed the "LG-H815_29a_Modem_and_Bootloader.zip" to try resolve an issue I was having with the mobile data indicator not showing. I flashed the zip in TWRP, rebooted the phone and now it is bricked. I have exactly the same symptoms as you. Windows and FWUL does not see the phone, no matter what combination of keypressed etc that I try.
Lets hope we find a solution here for it.

Hello everyone! So... I rooted my ZE551ML when I got it about a month ago and today an update pop-up from Asus shows up. So I said "what could go wrong?" .... How about everything?? Basically, I tried a bunch of different things because I could access via ADB, so I tried to unroot it with a bat file I found with a guide for that, but nothing. Now, I passed from black boot screen with white logo to white boot screen with black logo and I can't connect it with adb nor recovery mode. Is there something I can do to enter recovery? With the normal "volumeUP+power" I get nowhere. Can anybody help?

How do I start fastboot mode? I let it charge all night and my pc does the "device connected/disconnected" sound all of the time, but adb says no device (the drivers are ok, I tried before). I have to say that I tried to flash boot.img, droidboot.img, recovery.img and system.img. Problem is, while I was downloading those files I found 2 other methods for recover it, one was to unroot it and the other to unlock the bootloader.... And I tried. Now, I'm unable to enter recovery.
Edit: I tried this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/general/guide-brick-soft-hard-bricked-zenfone-2-t3284256 and for a short period of time (about a second or 2) I can see another device under the "Intel SOC" in device manager, but xFTSK cannot see the phone, even when it shows up for just a second on device manager.
Edit2: holding power down and plugging in the usb cable allows xFSTK to see my device, I put in the files and begin downloading, everything is going good but then it says
07:24:01 - XFSTK-LOG--Windriver Error: 0xC0000011, HC status: The host controller has set the Transaction Error (XactErr) bit in the transfer descriptor's status field
And from there it just starts all over again until it fails definetly.
Edit3: I'm trying the hell out of this software. I attach 2 logs to this post with relatives configurations. Still waiting for help.

Hi,
I'm after some advice, how do I place the Moto G5 in Qualcomm mode or EDL mode.
I have entered the bootloader by holding down and turning the phone on, this allows me to use fastboot.
From there I can scroll down to QCOM, but when I press the power button it boots into the normal system instead of EDL mode.
I have also attempted from within fastboot to use:
fastboot oem edl
fastboot oem qcom-on
fastboot reboot emergency
and
fastboot reboot-edl
Although non of these have been sucessful.
I also have access to an EDL cable, although, when I plug the phone in, then flick the switch 10 seconds later, it does not enter EDL mode, it just charges.
The phone sometimes shows as File Storage Linux USB Gadget in device manager, although it is inaccessible, I have updated the laptop to use the qualcomm drivers, although I don't think it will ever recognise it if I can't put the phone into qualcomm mode to begin with.
Any help would be much appreciated.
What are you actually attempting to do?
This mode is generally used to unbrick a device but you have access to the bootloader/fastboot mode and you wouldn't use edl mode to unbrick this device anyway
It's also used on some device to unlock the bootloader but again you wouldn't do that with this device
So without knowing what you are trying to achieve I can't give you any advice
Technically if you start the phone normally then enable usb debugging in dev options then connect phone to PC and in a terminal window where you have adb set up type
adb reboot edl
Not all devices support this mode though and I've no idea if this one does

Without going into too much detail as to why, there are tools I have access to which can be used to take a full back up of the entire memory block of the phone when it is in Qualcomm mode.
I cannot access adb on the device to use "adb reboot edl" so I am limited to either trying to activate Qualcomm using a button combination or via fastboot, unless you can advise another way.
Any help or a point in the right direction would be much appreciated.

It's not dodgy, but I fully understand.
Thank you anyway.
try fastboot -i 0x2b4c oem reboot-edl (it's working for LENOVO ZUK Z1 and ZUK Z2)
You can try (if you can/have the TWRP image) to flash TWRP and in reboot options select EDL.
In case the bootloader isn't unlocked you can also use fastboot boot [TWRP image name] to boot directly into TWRP without flashing and then repeat, go into reboot options and select edl.
Not sure if it works for you, if it does let me know that I have helped!

I need help too. So, I own a Moto G5s plus sanders. I unlocked its bootloader the day I got it. Didn't keep any backup and rooted it. I Also installed dot os based on android 11. But my 4G Volte connection was finicky. So, I decided to use a Volte zip patch. But, anyways I flashed the zip via TWRP and tried to reboot. But the phone didn't turn on after that. After a few minutes to my shock I understood that I hardbricked my mobile. No button combos, nothing worked. Anyways in my desperation I found a YouTube video showing the use of blankflash to revive a phone and lo and behold I used the procedure to again restore my device. It booted to the fastboot interface. But my happiness was short lived. My baseband was unknown at this point and the bootloader was I dunno downgraded to 0.5 inplace of 2.12. But, more importantly the unlock status was lost. I unlocked it again and all went well. I could even flashed TWRP. but then I realised I couldn't upgrade my bootloader. I couldn’t do anything. It's always gives a "security downgrade", "preflash validation failed" and "permission denied" error. I even tried RSA official rescue tool from Lenovo but even it was unsuccessful. It was never unsuccessful before that. Not even with a unlocked bootloader. I researched for days and tried custom ROMs. I flashed stock images. Nothing brought back my baseband and IMEI. When I type "fastboot oem unlock critical" it gives me permission denied error with a message. "Need OEM signed bootloader." I think the blankflash bootloader is the root of all evil. I need to change it and therefore I need to enter the edl mode. I have tried all adb commands and fastboot commands. The phone reboots okay after those commands but never goes into edl mode whatsoever. I am also ready to do a controlled hardbrick of my device to go into the edl mode so that I can use my device again with a proper bootloader and a properly working fastboot. Please help
I can only accsess fastboot and cannot reboot into anything except fastboot.... I tried extracting the payload bin but can only flash a few lines then I am told to reboot into fastbootd but cannot access that either... I cannot access recoveries either and I have tried to flash them but still wont budge... any ideas??
Use MSM tool
I also have this problem and I can't get it to EDL mode nothing happens stuck in fastboot.
I just typed a whole guide on how I managed to solve this in detail and the tab got closed out... in short then, download Qualcomm drivers and not oneplus's. There are many drivers in the file, just extract the whole thing and point to the file on device manager and include subfolders. It should find which I think was the HS-USB QDloader 9008 driver then install. Make sure you download the correct MSM for your version. The latest for global (or O2) is only hosted on one server and was going to take 12 hours to download on highspeed internet so I used lemonadep_22_O.05_210324 being 11.2.2.2. Use the Win7 version. Even though you cannot use EDL, you can reference these key combinations to get it recognized. If you're having a completely black screen, use the all button press hold until it vibrates. Make sure you are shutdown all the way and if needed use fastboot to. With MSM opened, drivers installed, and phone off, hold both vol keys and connect to PC. Hit Enum to refresh connections and hopefully it shows up and you can get a successful download complete. I found that the black screen was actually the device being in recovery mode. It was possible to successfully enter recovery using boot with power and volume down at times, although all sideload OTA's (along with prior fastboot flash boot *.img, fastboot -w, fastboot update, fastboot reboot-edl, ect.) failed. There was a lot of trial and error where just repeating some things after they had failed almost magically started working or stopped however this process is what worked in my case.

Yeah but that was a hassle should've been easier to reach that interface. I was almost sending it to service for nothing but a stupid unreachable interface nonsense.
Also to note when I tried with original cable from the box was successful the other usb cable gave me problems.
