I've been running the Cyanogen ROM and recently developed a problem with the phone not producing an audible tone when I receive a call. I was going to flash a debloated stock ROM to see of that made any difference since I couldn't find any reason for the phone not ringing. It was recommended to use the latest version of TWRP to flash the ROM. I used Goo Manager to replace CWM with TWRP and now I have a brick. The Samsung logo will appear briefly when the phone is powered on and then the screen hours blank. Does anyone have any ideas for a rescue plan? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You need to Odin a TWRP tar file from here:
http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/hercules
To anybody else reading this STOP USING GOO MANAGER TO UPDATE YOUR RECOVERY ON HERCULES!
I'm having the exact issue the samsung logo appears briefly and then the phone vibrates and quickly powers off... I'm curious as to why flashing a recovery image (I flashed it through heimdall) would interfere with the boot process this early on. The phone wont enter download or recovery mode (hard bricked) going to try a USB jig as a last resort.
Yea, same thing happened to me. Goo manager is bunk.. like previously stated i had to use odin to fix it, never used goo manager for anything again.
Will a USB jig get me back into recovery mode so I can flash the TWRP file using Odin?

You can use a jig. Or you can hold volume up + volume down while you plug the USB cable into your computer.

if you cannot go to download mode, USB Jig is the only way:

It happened to me, I had to use the above Jig to fix it.

Try flashing the custom recovery again but uncheck "auto reboot" in odin and then once done flashing manually enter into recovery mode by pressing volume up + home + power and let go of all 3 buttons as soon as you see the samsung logo.Prior to doing this put superSu v 1.94 in your sd card so you can flash it right after booting into recovery ,this would root your phone for more guidance refer to this guide.Philz touch 6.26.6 or 6.41 should be used.

Hi, simple quick question.
Have a bad USB port, so any hope of Odin or any PC help is out of the picture. I had the phone rooted with towelroot and twrp(terminal emulator method). Switched to a version of cwm(not the latest and can't remember the version) couldnt flash the philz or cwm recovery zips.
Tried the terminal emulator method again, found a different guide and the recovery boots to download mode. As well as the power on button only.
Is there chance of recovery or complete reset??, at this point the phone has been off for at least two hours.
So you flashed cwm and now when you press home, volume up and power it boots to download?
Can you boot normally into Android? If so, check out Mobile Odin by chainfire. He's got a thread here on xda for it. Maybe it can help you get where you need to be.

Does touch still work under TWRP? Is so flash a different ROM....
i dont open twrp
sorry
I cant open twrp
TWRP in case you were not aware is the recovery mode.
From off, Press Volume Up, plus Power. If you still can not get into TWRP, (Or whatever Recovery you have installed), then you need to reflash a Stock ROM (Volume Down, plus Power, then Volume Up), and connect via USB to a Windows PC running Odin.
Thanks Ichijoe
I have running odin and I have reflashed some ROM. All Of rom aré installed ok but the problem Dont fixed...Dont play touch
I Dont know what i can do now. ?
So I wanted to root my note 10.1 (2014 edition) and i did it with Kingo root with my PC and it was a success.
Then I wanted to install a custom recovery next and this is where it went wrong. I tried doing it with the Flashify app and may have flashed a wrong .img file... (backed up stock recovery)
Then when I rebooted it just gets stuck in the boot screen.. I cant access the recovery mode but i can go into download mode.. I dont really know how to fix this :/
Go into download mode and see if you can flash the recovery again with Odin
