[Q] Anyone successfully built Vanilla AOSP 4.1.2 ?!! - Nokia X

Hi, I'm really new to all this staff; it's my first time building a ROM. I used this tutorial by dhacker29 github.com/dhacker29/android_local_normandy/blob/caf_jb_rel_2.0.3/README.mdI'm just asking if someone else have tried this and have successfuly built this ROM. If yes I shoud have done something wrong for sure and I'll start over again. Thanks

No one has ever build a ROM other than the dhacker9 aosp.

Although, dhacker's AOSP didn't have issues accept the issue of Nokia xl that, when you install the ROM on Nokia xl it wipes the recovery and you have to flash it again

Are you sure you are using appropriate kernel ? U hope you're not installing other roms over jb kernel ... That just won't work.

[Q] KitKat Help please :)

I'm Rooted on 4.3 with CWM now I wanna go to 4.4.2 with the new modem so what the best way for me to do this without loosing anything? & with that unlimited tethering mod do I just flash that?
I'd flash the modem this way: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2678774
Then pick a 4.4.2 ROM from the developers section.

On page one of the modem thread somebody says:
"This can also be flashed if you are running a non-stock kitkat rom with the MK2 bootloader and want to try your luck with the new kitkat modem (gsm). Unless I'm missing something."

So it seems like it's worth a try to flash the new modem.

Have you considered using Odin to flash the stock 4.3 image, and then taking the update and then rooting etc.?

No you do not need an external SD card to flash a rom. The internal can be referred to as an "sd" too.
The process of rooting, getting a recovery going, and flashing is elaborated on within these forums.
