As written in subject, i am currently on Androidnow 20f 8.0, i want to flash a stock 20f firmware but i need root, so what are the steps in order to reflash stock 20f firmware and save root?? Thanks
1. Flash stock Kitkat firmware
2. Root it and flash custom recovery
3. Flash prerooted stock rom
But I believe you will not find prerooted 20F, just older versions.

You can flash CloudyG3, it's basically stock rom, without bloatware, stable, much faster and much smoother. I have flashed this ROM as I wanted a fast rooted stock LG ROM on my G3 and I am very happy with it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/development/rom-cloudyg3-1-0-t2917467
This is what I want - A stock LG G3 D850 lollipop rom, does one exist yet?

Its been so long since I installed a custom JB rom I can't see how to update to a custom 4.4.4 rom.
I've got KYRILLOSv8 and baseband rom XXMF1 and don't know the steps to take to flash a Carbon KitKat edition. I think I have to use ODIN to flash an official KitKat rom first then follow the instructions for the custom rom, is that correct?
Can I use ODIN to flash official KitKat over the custom KYRILLOSv8 or do I need to go back to official JB rom first?
Its just steps needed to go from JB custom to KK custom I'm unsure about and after a quick procedure guide so as not to end up in a mess. Any help would be appreciated thanks.
It was easier than I thought, flashed the lated JB rom in ODIN then installed custom KK rom and gapps.
I am coming from a G2 where we had to flash a baseband then flash CloudyG2. I now have a G3 in hand that is stock and on 4.4.2 and the model is D851. I only have to root, install custom recovery, and flash CLoudyG3 2.2 and no other baseband/modem/zips? Is that correct?

CloudyG3 2.2 is Lollipop i think
So i would think that you would need to flash the lollipop baseband if you are currently on KitKat

Thats what I thought too, but there are vague references in the the main thread that say it contains the bootloader in the zip file for the rom.... I just wanted to make sure so I thought I would ask here.
I decided to live dangerously and just give it a go after backing up my current rom. Works just fine. No need to flash a baseband first as I believe the zip file includes it.
Can't seem to find anything on this and hoping someone could help me. I'm looking to downgrade from LP 5.1.1 back to KK. Can I just flash a KK rom or do I need to go back to complete stock and then upgrade to KK?
If your rooted and its a custom rom you should be able to bounce back and forth. I am running 4.x now but install the 5.x and 6.x roms to try them often and have no problems.

alright well give it a try.. just didn't want to brick the device. thanks.
I haven't bricked one yet and if anyone has that kind of luck it's me. Make sure your modem is upgraded.
The LP on the phone must be a custom ROM rather than a stock ROM as there is no stock LP ROM and custom ROMs do not touch the modem or bootloader during the flash process so flashing a KK custom over an LP custom should not be an issue.
Is there a way to deodex a stock rom installed on the phone via root and recovery, or is there a way to create a deodexed stock rom to flash, Im looking for a way to Deodex my stock 4.16.401.13 HTC_001, I dont want to drop to KK or upgrade to MM, i had to downgrade from MM because i was having major battery issues on MM, its a lot more stable for me on LP, i dont want to flash the customs either, i waish to have pure stock with root and twrp.
The title almost says it all.
I am on a custom 4.4.2 ROM (using ND1 firmware) and want to look into upgrading to 5.1.1 or higher. Obviously rooted with TWRP recovery.
I know I'll need to upgrade my TWRP from 2.6.0.3 or whatever it is on right now to 3 or better - but I need to know if I will have to flash official stock 5.1 to upgrade to the newest firmware, if there is a newest firmware, to get the install clean with minimal errors or can I just flash a custom TW ROM and hope that upgrades the firmware, if there is new firmware, or is there a thread I can be directed to so I can read up on what I need to do to upgrade?
Or since I am already rooted with TWRP, can I just upgrade or flash my twrp to a known good version and flash a rom then be on my way?
Thanks in advance!
Dear Friend , It's all clear that if if you want to install any TW Lollipop ROMs, you need to first install a Lollipop firmware ( Using Odin ) to install a Lollipop bootloader ( do not even think of ticking the update bootloader in Odin because then you wouldn't be able to revert into KK firmware and then you can't run any KK ROM on Lollipop bootloader ) and then install a TWRP ( I recommend ShevT's one which is less glitchie and faster than the official ones because of the F2FS support !! ) and then you're free to go the way you like
... Hope it helps ... With Best Wishes - Hitman1376
