hello geeks,
I really need serious help. First the setup I have is as follows
1. I have LG G3 D855 but its european or Hong Kong or Taiwan version I don't know. I bought it in India. I updated it to android 5.0 Lollipop. Everything is fine till now.
2. Then I rooted my phone. This step was also fine. No problem.
3. Then I tried to download camera mod v2.0 to get some extra camera features like 60fps. In this step I got problems. I downloaded the media_profile.xml and copied it to /system/etc. But I made a mistake that I did not change its permission and rebooted the phone.
I am troubleshooting from a windows 8.1 PC. I downloaded the LG USB driver.
Due to this my phone stop at initial LG,Life is Good Screen. I tried different methods in internet.
1. I tired to access the device file file through adb. But the adb does not list the device.
2. I tried to use fastboot mode, but still fastboot does not list device when in the boot screen.
3. I pressed down pwr + volume down button and release after screen come up and then press again. I was asked to erase user data. I said yes and it erased the data. But still the same symptom when I reboot. Stuck at initial screen.
4. I tried to use LG PC Suite. But it does not even detect phone through the USB and there is no repair button.
5. I tried to enter downloading mode. This one is strange. I pressed down the vol up and then connected USB. But sometimes only it enters downloading mode and sometimes not. May be once in 10 times it enters downloading mode and 9 times it goes to initial boot LG screen.
I am not sure whats going on. Can anybody help me to figure it out ? Please help.
Thats because your not doing it properly
Research a guide on how to enter download mode and after that you can use flashtool to wipe your system and reinstall the original lg firmware
Hi guys,
Some people including me faced Hard brick issue with LG G4, which has now two solutions. the first is temporary, i discovered it and it involves using an SD card flashed with Original EMMC dump ( i tested it with H815 ands H811) , the second needs advanced hardware, equipment and soldering skills ( JTAG) .
The solution that i want to explore is trying to revive the phone with the SD card.

The H811 dump that i made has TWRP recovery and unlocked bootlloader, so if someone know how to help that would be awesome.
How ???, its very simple. I dont have very good UNIX architecture skills , but if the SoC successfully booted from the SD card. We could see if it detects the EMMC memory ( with parted or with LS command). I personally Tried to brow /dev/block directory from TWRP i hoped to find MMCBLK1 or something but that was unsuccessful , im pretty sure the TWRP or the Soc Does not mount it automatically .
I really dont know How , but i'm very Sure that there is a Solution headed that way , So if some one is Good with Unix architecture and can find a way to soft Flash the EMMC from TWRP ( installed in the SD card ) it would be very Nice
hi,i tried the sd card method...it boots but immediately gives me secure boot error (1006).
i have an h815 bl locked
Hello
I have LG H815 and have bricked. I have installed wrong firmware so it is brick now.
I try new tot file with QPST . but it says fail what s wrong with me?
My computer is win 10 64 bit
You can fix fastboot mode with this way.
1. First you need to download stock rom that your phone supported. extract laf.img file from rom and copy it into fastboot directory
2. download LG Flash Tool and make it ready
3. open flash tool and load firmware and dll that support your model.
open command prompt and make sure you in fastboot directory where the fastboot and related files are stored.
Run following commands.
fastboot erase recovery
fastboot erase laf
fastboot flash laf laf.img
fastboot reboot

Hurry up, now you need to start flash with lg flash tool, if device does not start into download mode. remove battery and insert again, press and hold Vol Up btn and plug USB cable it will boot into download mode. and your device com port should be 41, if not change it in device manager. and start LG Flash tool to load stock rom. once it finish loading rom your device will start and will show you factory test 1, 2, or 3. if it stuck there more than 3-5 minutes. reboot your phone. now you will have welcome screen.
I hope this will work with supported models.

lol, when you see a screen with 0% and a usb connected image, that mean your battery dead
why not just try to charge your phone? or replace a battery?

Hello, well after what happened I thought the same and went to buy another battery and when they tried it did not work, I repeat, not fastboot, no logo, no recovery, only a small vibration without screen, it is not detected by the PC in any of its modes as dead, the detail is that this happened after restarting when I had flashed bootloader N, rom V30, magiistic, I gave it restart and it did not turn on again, so I discard that it is hardware .
I think the problem was that I flashed the bootloader with full aboot, that gave me hardbrick I was told in a forum in Spanish I leave the link I hope you help me thanks
https://www.htcmania.com/showthread.php?t=1397519 use this method to unlock the bootloader
Hey MichaelCV
I have exactly the same problem with my LG G4 H815p. I was running [ROM][H815] H-ROM G4 NOUGAT [v29a] _ LG G4. The phone was up and running and last night I flashed the "LG-H815_29a_Modem_and_Bootloader.zip" to try resolve an issue I was having with the mobile data indicator not showing. I flashed the zip in TWRP, rebooted the phone and now it is bricked. I have exactly the same symptoms as you. Windows and FWUL does not see the phone, no matter what combination of keypressed etc that I try.
Lets hope we find a solution here for it.
Chris
because im an idiot an was playing with my phone before bed i flashed a boot.img with flashify (which i now regret)
Now all it does is come up with the lg logo and then go to a black screen with fastboot on it........really stupid i know
When i plug it into the pc it wont show in adb devices or in fastboot devices............all that ive found show me needing these.............helllllllllp please
it was running stock lollipop rooted and with no custom recovery installed
Well, if you're able to enter download mode you can flash stock kdz from LGflashtool, otherwise, meh
(to enter download mode switch off the phone, press volume up for 3 secs and plug the USB cable to your pc while still pressing vol up)
here the full guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2785089 good luck
i love you.......back up and running many thanks
I'm working with a friend's LG K10. OEM unlock isn't turned on in settings, neither is USB debug, as far as I can tell. The phone shuts down before booting fully, so there's no chance I can get into settings to change those. Everything on the phone is stock - recovery, bootloader, Android version, etc.
I can get it into fastboot mode and download mode. In fastboot, it talks to my computer, but refuses to run any command I send it. I can't get it to connect to my computer in download mode. This might be a driver issue on my computer - I'm still working on fixing this.
We're not concerned with saving his data (although it would be nice, if possible). We care a lot more about getting the phone functional again.
What are the options from here? I haven't been able to find any root exploits for this phone that work without at least having adb. I'm happy to root the phone if that's the only way to get it working again.
Thanks in advance.
yes, i do this:
- phone without batery
- press up button ( all moment)
- connect usb cable
- put the battery
-wait
- and this all, firmware update mode you need, "Lg UP "
I have bricked lg e988 indonesia firmware rooted,updated to kitkat 4.4.2,cwm 6.4.0.4
Due to some issue I factory reset from settg menu and the phone rebooted to cwm recvry mode
I tried to rebootd to system but fail
I tried to flash stock rom via adb sideload but fail too so does with lg flash tool
So I thght smtg wth cwm then I tried to flash twrp loki 2.6 and then stuck to lg logo only until now
Pls help
You're still soft bricked, just force your device into download mode and use LG Flash Tool to return back to stock and start again.

If I remember correctly (please check threads here, it's been a long time since I've used this device, so memories are fading), download mode is activated when you press Volume Up (or both of volume buttons) and insert USB cable. I know that E98x has some strange button sequences, like rebooting to recovery is a two step operation (Volume Up + Power until navbar blinks, then power button twice, that's the only way mine wanted to boot into recovery), so please check around.
As far as USB connection issues, don't use USB3+ ports and if you're on Windows 8.1+ and later, run with Administrator privileges. I never experienced that one (used LGFlashTools from inside VirtualBox running Win XP for all my needs, I'm not a Windows user), so can't really help much but forums are full with explanations how.

3. Install LG flash tool and LG USB Drivers
4. Plug usb cable to phone
5. Hold volume buttons and then plug the usb cable to PC (i use win 10)
6. Voila, the Download Mode icon is showed up
7. Run LG Flash Tool (Administrator privilege) & follow the instruction (i use e988 v20c stock firmware)
8. Phone back to normal (only if you use the correct stock firmware)
A very big thanks to ShadySquirrel
Hopefully this thread can also be used as reference for anyone who has the same issue as i had
