Permissions Messed Up On & Can't Extract Folders On SD Card - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

Been having some issues with trying to extract zips from sd card or change permissions on files on my sd card. It tells me I don't have permissions and I even tried moving a file from my phone to my SD card and got a error message. I'm using the B1 Archiver. I was trying to set something up before and tried changing the permissions on a file on my sd card and I got the same error. I just tried formatting my sd card but that didn't help.
I'm on 4.4.2 rooted with towelroot.

Install ES File Explorer from the Play store and grant ES File Explorer root access under its settings.

NEED HELP with READ Only sd card?!?!!!!

SD card is only in READ ONLY. how do i fix this?
Try unmounting and remounting the card.
What are you using to browse it? If you use root explorer it had a built in option to set it to rw or ro (read-write or read-only)

take the card out of the phone. sometimes there is a switch on the side that will disable writing to the card. Cant remember for sure if it is on micro sd cards or not though
There might be a corrupt file on the card. Root explorer does this to me sometimes. Put the card in a PC and copy the contents to your computer. It will fail on a file and then you can determine what file is corrupt and delete it from the card.

EXD SD vs SD - Confused?!

So since I got my SGS3, I noticed in ES File Manager as well as Root Explorer I can't find the Ext SD folder, however with the stock My Files app the first directories that pop up are Ext SD and SDcard. I don't think my camera pics and other items are being stored on the external SDcard? how do I get to the Ext SD Card from ES Explorer or Root File Manager?
Thanks,

/mnt/ExtSdcard/
To make it easier long press on extsdcard folder and select Link to This Folder. Then go back to the root directory and create the link there.
That's for Root Explorer btw.

[Q] Non root write to external sd Lollipop?

Just done an OTA update to Android 5 on my UK sim free Lg G3 but I am still unable to move files from internal SD to external SD.
Have a lot of downloads that are taking up space and tried to use ES file manager to move a video to my 64GB micro SD card and it failed.
I thought Lollipop returned the use of the external SD card?
Don't want to root the G3 because the banking apps will stop working.
What should I do?
Hi, did you try tu use stock file manager?
The stock file manager does not have a copy/move option.
Has write to SD actually been returned in Lollipop or is rooting the only option?
It has. Hold your finger on file and it will popup menu. Im using it all time. It's not FM if it doesn't have move copy or delete.
Tried that but again, no copy/move options (lots if others though, inc. delete, share ect).
Strange problem this.
Just an update.
I unmounted the external sd card and erased.
Now the built in file manager has all the options Inc. copy and move.
I can now write to the card.
Lolliepop has reintroduced Write To SD Card
The file manager app Xplore can now write to the sd card. You have to try it first and then it will send you through a small set up to allow writing to the sd card. So Google fixed it. Its just now the apps have to be reconfigured to be able to write to the sd card.

Glad to got that fixed mate! To make deleting videos and pics easier.. you can try Quickpic from Play Store. You can select multiple pics/videos easy and fast..move them to a desired folder or delete them

[Q] Problems copyingmoving files to sd

I have rooted using Effortless w/ Knox intact. When I try to move or copy a file (music) from my internal memory to sd card using Root Explorer it says Operation Failed. I can move it with the PC but can't transfer it using EZ File Explorer or the built in My Files. I have applied the SD Card fix but to no avail. Can anyone help?

Cannot delete photo from SD card

Just put a SD card from my old Samsung phone to my new z2 force and found out that I cannot delete photo from this SD card, either using Google Photo app or File Explorer. Using File Explorer I can delete other files just fine (like pdf files). I don't want to format the SD card as I have quite a few things in there.
Anyone know a fix?
You need to give those apps permission to access your storage. Go to apps and check the permissions.
