Shame the release date isn't set yet, but good news nonetheless! Personally I find them to be some of the most unique skins (I use the Neo New York one for my laptop ) and they do a great job of protecting the device. Thought I'd put this up here in case anyone was holding off on buying a skin until something new came around, I avoided the gel ones because I find them a bit plain and boring.

Apologies, I wasnt aware, i just saw other threads discussing it and assumed the rule referred to official advertising.
As for the textured back, I don't think it will matter, my laptop one is pretty thick anyway so it should smooth it out. My laptop isnt AS textured as the SGS2, but it flattens this backplate out quite nicely, so we'll see i guess.

I think they will release once it is out in the US, since they are a US company. I've bought a cheap case off ebay for £4 to protect the phone until gelaskins release them :3
by the way, there is an alternative - ZAGGskins. does anybody know if they are planning to make skins for our device too?

Hopefully, when SGS2 sells like hotcakes, manufacturers will start churning out cases and protectors like no-ones business
This is the first time I've heard of Gelaskins. I looked them up and their skins look amazing! Looking forward to their release of skins for the SGS2.
EDIT: Just received news from Gelaskins that the skins for the SGS2 should be up on the site on Monday or Tuesday!

Out of all the cases I've had for my Inspire, the Case Mate Tough was by far the best. Can't wait for their e4gt cases.
The TPU will tide me over for now, it's actually a pretty good case but I feel safer with a hard shell. Probably going to return my Samsung kickstand one to Sprint.. it's not a very good design.

I emailed support to ask with a link to the item listed. Like I said in another thread, it looks like the kind of site that sells to 3rd party vendors, and since the packaging says Sprint branded, I suspect this is meant for non-corporate Sprint stores.
Obviously no real confirmation, but I will post any kind of non-generic answer I get.

i figured the same, but if thats the case (haha). maybe we can pool a couple orders together and save a buck or two? that is, if they do bulk orders
UPDATE: i registrared and their expected availability is 10/04, most likely that will be when case-mate decides to put it up on their site and it starts showing up everywhere. that $20 pre order is starting to look pretty tasty
How much wait and thickness will this case add?
Love the idea of the case. But the lightness of this phone is one of its biggest pluses.
Really, really like the idea of this case though.

it'll add about 1.5 oz (not sure how noticeable that may be, but it should bump it up to the weight of the MoPho) its stream-lined fitted, snaps on snug and is pretty durable for its thinness. i wanna say its thinner than the tpu case, not sure tho. but i know for a fact its one of the thinnest cases you can get hence the name "barely there"
Some people claim this case interferes with GPS reception. =/

just got a response from Case Mate indicating that the vendor from the link is legit and that the product is real (ie model number, device, etc.) they did not indicate anything on the date however...
Just preordered my casemate tough from theaccessoryking.com for $21. I love the barely there cases but certainly not in silver, which is the only option available on that site.

What i found sketchy was that it didn't exist anywhere else, not even Case-Mate verified it. I'm fine with preorder (i preordered my ET4g) its just that i did a preorder on a case once before (not from accessoryking) and it never came into stock. But i hope this doesnt scare anyone bc they didnt take my money or anything they just messed with me and gave me false hope >.>
especially after diaa08 confirmed that its live (at least i believe s/he was referring to this link) i would jump on it, its quite the deal

the complaints i see are for the HTC Inspire/Desire and it wasnt just for the barely there, they had it for ALL cases but if there is a problem, from the threads i read you can complain to Case-Mate and they'll send you complimentary cases you could try or just sell and buy another case

I know there's already an otterbox thread. But this one is specifically for the defender. I have the defender on my HD2, and it's a godsend. I don't have to try to put on a screen protector myself, and I know my phone is very well protected.
So is there any chance the note will get a defender case made for it?
This is a major determining factor for me. Don't want to put down $700 on a phone for it to get scratched up, or for me to drop it and it breaks.
I have already emailed Otterbox last week regarding to making cases for the Note. This is what they have replied:
We have not confirmed if we are going to make a case for this device, but I am happy to pass your request on to our development team. Customer Service finds out about new case releases the moment they are posted to the website. It is best to keep an eye on our website or Facebook page, as they will have the most up to date information on our products and new cases.

lol..no worries....I too would love to have a Commuter Case for my Note
If we do start up a petition for a defender case, I'd like to specify that otterbox design one that is big enough to fit an extended battery just in case.
The defender on my HD2 is very perfectly designed, but doesn't leave any extra room for any kind of bigger battery.
I already know I'll be playing games and watching movies like crazy on the note.
Maybe I will start a new thread for the petition....and I will then send the petition to OtterBox....

No news yet, the only news is an email reply from them to me saying that there is no plan for it yet, but they will pass on my suggestion to the development department
Otterbox Samsung Note!!!!
Otterbox will eventually make a case for the NOTE. They play this game of "we don't know anything until we know something" because, from what I've been told, alot of it is contingent on their overseas manufacturer. But development was in the works before the phone was released (according to my source). Supply and Demand. I personally cannot wait to see one on their website BUT if it's anything like the Samsung Galaxy SII I'll probably have outgrown my NOTE for the next best thing by the time it happens.
I would like to see them post an UPCOMING cases or SOON TO BE RELEASED page on their website if they cannot keep up with getting product out timely for new devices. Otherwise there are alternatives that work very well.
Yeah I bought the Zenus Capsule Case just because it looks pretty. And it's probably almost as bulky as the Defender would be.
But I'll probably still buy a Defender. I just really wish they made a Defender for an extended battery addition.

I voted for the metal/slate option, which is one of the two versions of the Cygen case that Amazon never offers with Prime.
Notice that the metal/slate case is the most requested version of the Cygen on Massdrop. Requests for that model outnumber others by almost two thirds.
The black/black case is the other version of the Cygen that has to be ordered directly.
i2k13: Have you thought about promoting that Massdrop page on other forums?
Possible places to promote it: The OnePlus Accessories Forum and Android Central's OnePlus One Forum (with *Accessories* as the tag).

An active one, but not quite the kind that writes a lot but the one who helps test things and such. The only requirement I don't meet is residing in the U.S. (I reside in Spain). Maybe if you don't have enough testers... You could make an exception? I'm always glad to help!
Also when I've been looking for a good tempered glass protector and was between yours and one from another company. I just saw this post and it would be awesome to test and keep it!
