[Q] ok google everywhere? [SOLVED - Cm12] - Oppo Find 7 and 7a

Hi folks,
I'm trying to find a ROM that has Ok Google Everywhere enabled.
I am running Nameless Rom 4.4.4-20141215-find7 (the most recent) and can't enable it.
I've tried setting all languages to US English as the primary and have searched and said 'ok google everywhere' to enable it, plus clicked resulting links. The Ok Google detection only shows apps, and no other option.
Do any Find 7 ROMs support it?
Cheers!
d
UPDATE
It is active on CyanogenMod 12 lollipop. Haven't tried OmniROM but my guess is that it's for L, not KitKat.

[Q] Bug or Feature ?

Hi folks,
I'm not sure if found a bug or a feature ... however ... since the integration of SuperSU into any custom rom (CM 12 / Liquid Smooth / PA) based on Lollipop, I'm not able to install more then 8 apps alongside Google Play (sd-card / LAN / USB). Exactly after the 8th app installation the "install now" button isn't pressable anymore. The button is not grayed out or something, it simply doesn't react on pressing. Also when i use apps that needs root access, the question from SuperSU appears, but the "grant" button does not react after the 8th attempt. My internal card has 22 GB free, so that's not the cause i think. I've checked all the system security options for a suspect option, but i haven't found anything yet. Installations via Google Play works fine anyway. Under KK based roms there is no such a strange thing, and as i mentioned above, this was after the integration of SuperSU in LL based roms. Does anyone have an idea what it could be ? ...
sincerely,
LP

OK it's solved. Only deinstalling of Lux doesn't helped. I've installed the latest CM12 (from Today) and in addition the latest SuperSU (2.38). That's worked.
Thx a lot for yours help ! :victory:

New Google Assistant

Is there anyway to get the new Google Assistant on the note 4. Im currently on Paul Pizz MM .
You might look into one of the snapshot builds of this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/xposed-android-n-ify-features-t3345091
Although he specifically states that TW might not be compatible. It doesn't list Google assistant as a supported feature, but it's in the latest snapshots
Yes, you don't need Android N ify. You will need Xposed and Assistant Enabler module for it. Become Google app beta tester and download the latest beta. Currently I'm using the Assistant on Paul Pizz From.

[HELP] Google Assistant for S4 Mini ?

Hey, I've installed AICP 12.1 (Android 7.1) ROM and I've been trying to get the Google Assistant working but with no luck. I've tried editing build.prop, clearing cache etc but nothing seems to work.
So I just wanted to ask if any of you people have figured out how to get the Google Assistant working and if someone could help me. Thanks.
take a lool to this thread, here you will find all information and zip files what you need

Say 'OK Google' any time greyed out [8.1 Custom ROM]

So I flashed both AICP and ABC January 8.1 ROMs today (one at a time) using 2 different unofficial OpenGApps packages. After setting up the ROMs (re-install backup from the cloud option), I noticed that I was unable to activate the Say 'OK Google' any time in the Google Now app. When I opened the section in settings<voice the switch quickly moves to the off (left). Underneath it says that this is unavailable in my language (UK English - hence the grey not gray in the heading btw!).
I tried many many solutions from Google, clearing data etc but nothing worked. I have since reinstalled stock January 8.1 firmware and it works fine. I re-installed from backup in the cloud option like before.
What is going on? Has this happened to anyone else? Can you offer a solution?
[EDIT] - I tried a different third GApps package (unofficial BeansGApps). Problem solved.
Hi am2012
I have exactly the same problem. I've tried everything (except changing the gapps).
Which BeansGApps have you installed?
I only found this file to download (BeansGapps-NoGAssistant_arm64-8.1.x-unofficial-December.zip), but "NoGAssistant" is strange...
Could you post the link from you downloaded ???
Thanks...
EDIT - Thanks a lot am2012. It's finally solved!!! I intalled the BeansGapps file ( BeansGappsMini-arm64-8.x.x-unofficial-Feb2018.zip ) from the AndroidHostFile site.

Sorry, I was at work. Yes, the BeansGApps work well.
Do you have a link to the gapps because I can't find an Oreo 8.1 beangapps.

Question "Ok google" not working on custom roms

As posted in other thread, i'm on latest crDroid (7.9) with Flamegapps full.
Pretty much everything working, except voice match "hey/ok google", whose activation is grayed out in google settings ("the function is not available on your device").
Searching the web, it seems that's a common problem for Android 11 custom roms, related to some file (hotword blobs) missing in the rom, device specific.
See this thread for example:
New Hotword blobs on Android 11 · Issue #19 · ShivamKumarJha/android_tools
Hotword functionality requires the following files on Android 11 system_ext/etc/permissions/com.android.hotwordenrollment.common.util.xml system_ext/framework/com.android.hotwordenrollment.common.u...
github.com
I'm no dev, so i don't really understand this stuff...but many people have my same problem here and on Telegram (the others simply doesn't use voice match, i guess), so i think it is good thing to report out this thing to developers, if this is the problem
thank you
I'm leaving this reply in case someone needs it in the future.
The solution is making Google a system app, you can use a magisk module called systemize.
This is the most recent version I found: https://github.com/xeddmc/terminal_systemizer

Thank you very much for your replay.
That was the issue, and yours is a good solution.
For me, the issue has been solved with the next Flamegapps release, some time later.
i confirm on android 13 crdroid rom app 2023, nikgapps, Google must be installed as system app to google assistant working ( "and not be grayed out in google settings)
