I have a port of the D855 10n ROM flahsed to my D850 AT&T g3. On the stock AT&T version, the new google news and weather app works fine, but on the int'l rom it is not working. It will install fine, but on first run it will tell my the device is not yet compatible with the app.
So, I figured "Hey, build.prop issue. Easy.."
I swapped out the build.id, fingerprint, and all other relative info in buid.prop from D855 to D850, wiped and rebooted. Nothing. Tried a fresh install with changes incorporated. Still nothing.
So now here I am. A little perplexed. Can anyone shed some insight?
I guess my first question should be: Does Google News and Weather work on native D855 phones?
Heres a build.prop from my D855 ROM, spoofed to D850 for anyone who wishes to take a look. Perhaps Im missing something?
did you tried already to replace at&t apks into d855 rom? it seems that those apps are related to a regional problem... d855 is mostly european ^^ while at&t doesn't.. so i think it's for that

Nope.
Usually AT&T ROMs are the ones to work on Rogers device but as a general rule, don't flash anything that doesn't say works on your variant (D852 in this case).
Just FYI for others still wondering, at the moment from what I've tested, Cloudy G3 works with the Rogers D852 model (and should on all Canadian models), and AndroidNow v1.6 (NOT v1.7, you will end up in a soft brick in fastboot mode, MAKE A NANDROID ON AN OTG USB OR EXTERNAL SD!) will flash and boot properly but in call sound does *NOT* work. I've read there are workarounds but I haven't actually read the solution (if anyone can chime in here, please do).
Other than that, Venom and Dark Wulf / Android Now 1.7 will all soft brick the device.

I got an LG E980 which a friend of mine brought me from the US. It was bought from AT&T I believe (it has AT&T logo and applications). Is there any stock ROM (something that doesn't come with AT&T apps)? I apologize if I posted this in the wrong area. I tried searching but I didn't really find anything, so any help would be much appreciated.

only panama version. It doesn't have at&t apks but there is only android v4.1.2, there is no kit kat.
Recently in Canada Koodo (part of Telus) has started caring LG G3
i have looked all over the internet to get a stock image for my variant (D852) but, unable to locate
i am hoping that someone could point me in the right direction
the reason i need this because i want to root and installing custom ROM and i need the stock image just in case anything goes wrong
i dont know too much about G3 (coming from Nexus line and things were much easier in that world)

Looked at the website but it doesn't have the rom for my mobile carrier (Koodo/Telus)

ok sorry im making this post because i am a bit paranoid and confused. My father just got a Lg g3 from rogers (we live in canada) and as far as i know all rogers/bell versions are d852. so i just flashed cloudyg3 with the d852 patch. all is working fine so far, but when i opened the back i noticed it say d850 on the phone. Can something go wrong in the future? did i flash the correct ROM version. This is my fathers work phone so I need to know

I bought another LG G3 from eBay and it turns out it is a D855TR, so a international Turkish variant of the phone.
It is currently only on version 5.0, and there are no OTA updates that can be applied.
The phone does not even let me connect to the LG suite as there is no option to change the USB type!
I want to upgrade to marshmallow as I did with my previous G3, but all the sites that I have visited are in Turkish and I am having trouble finding information if it is safe to use the same rooting/flashing methods as the normal D855. My previous phone was just the standard international D855 and I have rooted it before and successfully flashed different roms onto it without any problems.
So I just wondered what root can I use for the Turkish variant, and if I am able to still flash different roms such as Fulmics onto it like I would with just the normal D855?
