My Point Of View (operation cm11) - Galaxy Y GT-S5360 General

ASALAMOALIKUM Friends,
Cyanogenmod 11 is basically android kitkat (4.4 - 4.4.4).
We all know that it is already ported for our Samung Galaxy Y GT S5360.
Here are some features of android kitkat CM11 :-
1. Kitkat launcher + Status bar.
2. You can download apps which requires android version upto 4.4.4.
3.Forked broadcomCM devices into androidarmv6 repository (forked from ics branches).
4.Initial changes needed for cm-11.0 have been committed to cooperve, tassve, totoro and bcm21553-common device trees.
5.All of Broadcom's code has been adapted for the cm-11.0 branch.
6.After some reverse engineering of the vendor binaries, "adbd" and "init" built from source now work correctly. ADB will now set the 7.proper USB mode, can give a root shell, and no longer has a hardcoded dependency on /system/bin/sh, which should help a great deal 8.with debugging. We also no longer need to use the init prebuilt binary - the source-built version is now compatible.
9.Implemented common kernel source for totoro, cooperve and tassve.
10.Implemented hybrid boot/recovery/charge ramdisk.
11.Fixed WiFi, Bluetooth, Bluetooth tether & mac addresses.
12.Fixed graphical performance regression on CM11 branch.
13.Fixed basic audio (speaker, microphone, software encoders/decoders)
14.Fixed GPS.
15.Fixed Gallery, wallpaper chooser, live wallpapers, RenderScript, and possible EGL crashes in other apps
16.Added workaround for SystemUI corruption
17.Fixed graphical corruption/stability issues (caused by buggy GL_EXT_discard_framebuffer extension)
18.Fixed RIL, telephony and audio routing to speakers, headset, earpiece, microphone and microphone mute.
19.Audio routing improvements/fixes, small graphics performance optimizations
20.Fixed camera
21.Fixed wifi tethering
22.Updated to newer bcmdhd wifi driver to resolve wifi instability
23.Fixed USB tethering (with caveats)
24.Improved audio routing and fixed BT headsets (SCO).
BUGS which i personally found:-
1.OMX codecs (for accelerated audio/video - may never be solved)
2.SIM unlock doesn't work (you must remove your SIM lock in another device/ROM)
3.Video recorder
4.Slow.
5.This rom does not support Internalmemoryincrease.zip.......
6.It is not stable and it is still NIGHTLY.
But i have enjoyed this rom personally and hope you also like it.

CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for CyanogenMod/PecanCM is available in the CyanogenMod And PecanCM Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod/PecanCM, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

FAQ
Q: Do I need to wipe everything while upgrading from earlier CM10.1 build?
A: In general: only dalvick-cache and cache. But in case after upgrade you got bootloop (or stuck at cm logo or getting fc after boot) then you shuold wipe data.
Q: The 'Developer and Performance options' from 'settings' are gone. Where are they?
A: Touch the 'Build number' seven times in 'about phone'. Then they will appear.
Q: I have SD card bug, What to do ?
A: Connect your phone to usb at boot, your sd card bug will gone (NOTE: This bug Fixed in RC5)
Q: my phone freeze or white screen on Opening an App, what to do ?
A: go to the hwa setting app and disable hwa for that app, mostly browser need it (note: not needed from RC5)
Q: I'm facing touch hang in lockscreen
A: don't panic! just relock your phone and then unlock, however cybojenix said he is working on this bug and it will be fixed soon
Q: I can't use mass storage from RC5
A:
Use MTP
you can read this article to get more info on mtp/ptp
and for ubuntu users, follow this guide to use mtp
and mac users can follow this guide
(Note: mtp Is default since RC6 )
Q: When I powered on my Phone it goes into blackscreen
A: Reboot your phone into recovery and then reboot phone, This is bug in 3.0 kernel and currently we don't have any log on this bug and due to no log we stuck here
Q: When ever i open camera, my phone reboot
A: This is so strange bug and it only for few users with 3.0 kernel and right now i'm out of idea for this problem

just checked, doesn't work, but it will need implementing at source level as well. If you haven't merged the sources by the time I'm free, I'll merge it together
Also, tested wifi, scanning doesn't work (but didn't give it long so it might work) but manually connecting to network does
another first for the p350, first armv6 to have working wifi

This ROM is built from AOSP sources with my modifications and with some useful features. I don't really care about any ROM customization features, because I care about stability and performance. So this ROM will never be "fully customizable".
What's the difference between this ROM and other custom LP ROMs for Nexus?
A: You really cannot see the difference by seeing screenshots of this ROM. You can feel the difference by using it.

I can't edit the frameworks_native opengl files to fix the graphical issues, that must be done by someone talented...
Reboot issues: I don't know, my Nexus only rebooted once. I still haven't flashed Gapps.

This ROM is using AOSP JB 4.3.1 tuna and maguro device repositories, which are edited for KitKat 4.4 by me by adding the changes from Grouper KK 4.4 device repository. Here is my
device repositories for Tuna:
github.com/manumanfred/device_samsung_tuna
github.com/manumanfred/device_samsung_maguro
Changelog:
device_maguro
Code:
KitKat
Enable BLE
frameworks/base overlay: add MMS UA and UAProfUrl strings for maguro
JB 4.3.1
device_tuna
Code:
fix typo of audio.r_submix.default
Enable host interleaving BR/EDR device discovery
audio: fix remote submix sampling rates
change to new libsensors headers - Thanks to kufikugel
KitKat
Include BLE permission file
Enable BLE
JB 4.3.1
To Do:
Fix possible GPS issue (Maybe)
Take this away: Settings.Global.LOW_BATTERY_SOUND_TIMEOUT It's for tablets, we can use it but this is useless
Fixes
Add Battery Charging LED
If the vendor files for grouper KK have been uploaded, then use some of the files from it for BT and WiFi
Revert some things (maybe, currently needs testing...)
Next version will be Dreams 4.4 Milestone 2
For Toro users: Don't ask any ETAs or anything like that.. I build this KK based Dreams for Toro when this is stable for Maguro.
package gives error because of the new signature in kitkat, it is fixed in latest cwm and I think in twrp as well, so you can build a flashable zip just recommending to be on latest cwm in order to flash it
So it's still Jellybean?

I have the .zip package on my Ubuntu partiton, but I'm not using Ubuntu right now so I can't give it now. Next version will be flashable through CWM.
as always, you are awesome, thanks for your roms, they are golden
Absolutely the best kitkat rom 'till date, no doubt..the rom is blazing fast, smooth like ever, opening app, swiping to google now is liquid, fast precise... the only thing you have to do is to install mopkang kernel 1080 version, which makes a big difference in the overall performance, stock kernel seems to be young for this os.. everything seems to work fine, super su 1.65 works perfectly..what else can I say, excellent job and thanks carlos, I'm coming from the latest cm snapshot and i can feel the very gap in terms of speed and smoothness, kitkat really is a badass os:good:

CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

debloated ROM and gapps by myself a little more, change some sounds and ROM+gapps are less than 200 MB ... GREAT!
will test it now (and hope there is no dead sleep like cm10.2 in my case )
QUESTION: only flashable with TWRP 2.6.3.0 by maclaw??? or is normal TWRP 2.6.3.0 possible?

Overclocking
Overclocked kernel are tested on my own device BUT I won't be responsible for any damages on yours.
By default the ROM will use stock frequencies.
Thermanager
By default if the device is too hot it will reduce the screen brightness and CPU clock. When the device will be cool enough it will restore brightness and CPU clock but at 1.5Ghz only.
If you want to force thermanager to restore the clock to a specific value defined by an external overclocking tool, you can edit /system/etc/thermanager.xml.

FAQ
Flashing procedure
You need to merge partitions /data and /sdcard (already done if you come from nAOSP 6.0).
Please, read the 6.0 procedure to flash this ROM. (ext4 and f2fs are both supported again since 7.1.2 b04)
If you come from nAOSP 6.0 b13, you can simply flash the ROM as usual (a clean flash is preferable if you migrate from 6.0)
About Gapps: Due to odex, the ROM takes more space than before so please prefer Micro Gapps.
About SuperSU: Not yet supported (if you flash it, you will have a bootloop)
Translation
If you have some time and want to translate missing parts on the ROM your help is welcome. You can create a pull request with github or if you are not familiar with this tool, you can send files to me directly or in the forum. BUT I really prefer if you can create a pull request. If you don't know how to do it, ask some help in the forum
New languages are welcome (some language are not supported by Android so check here: http://stackoverflow.com/a/30028371 )
Reference files are English and French ones.

Hello guys, again, many thanks to mickybart for keeping xperia s up to date.
Question to those who tried this rom. Is performance of Android 7.0 on our old device ok enough? I know this is alpha but what's the performance comparison of simple things between this and Android 6.0?

I mean that when I plug a headset on the jack plug of the phone, for me the sound is not redirected. I tested it with Dialer and Eleven. For both it is not working.
Let me know if we are speaking about the same things

great work @mickybart and @millosr  i downloaded, flashed the rom and already started working on to fix my theme anyway you probably already know about this bug but once camera is opened(default one) or it's flash light related which works but takes times to start, it keeps running in background.
NFC seems to be working tested with galaxy Note 3 and it shared the file via NFC, only crashed bcuz bluetooth is not working.
Documents is also crashing on 1st run after reboot and it's empty but 'Settings->Storage->Explore' is working(probably know bug too) but here's crash log for it maybe it will help:

For now I have nothing special set for Layers except doze invert.
About Camera I confirm that everything is working but we reach a timeout on the framework of camera2. If I'm activating the torch on the kernel there is no delay for example.
I will try to figure out what changed on 7.0 for camera2 legacy support and that should fix Camera2 and Flashlight.
Thanks about NFC test.
