Does anyone know how to make the "Complete Action Using" selection persistent after you select your desired (new default) application?
Even though I have selected my new application to complete an action, the window asking what application to select re-appears next time.
I had that on KitKat but not since Android L?

Hi, a wanted to know if there is a way to set a custom activity (using anycut / launcher pro "activity" etc) to open the "input method" (the pop up when you long press a text field and select "input method" to change keyboards.
My intent is, actually to assign one of the "quick keys" to input method to quickly change keys. If seen that there is widget that enables this (using "power control plus" from the market), but I haven't been able to make a custom activity for this.
Running Dalvik Debug Manager, I think the command is something like
WARN/InputManagerService(1437): Window already focused, ignoring focus gain of: [email protected]
but I'm not well versed in android development to understand this.
Any help? Thanks in advance!
Two issues with this rom:
A) can't get home switcher to stay loaded so that I can switch to Launcher Pro. Is there anyway around this?
B) Is there any way to get rid of the HTC embedded mod keyboard and use Swift Key? There is no setting under KEYBOARD which allows you to choose which keyboard to use?
Thanks, in Advance....

A) Ok do this presss menu>settings>applications>manage applications>press the "All" tab>Scroll down to HTC Sense and tap it> scroll down and select "clear defaults"> now from the Home button on your phone(looks like a house)>A Complete Action Using window should appear> Check the "Use by default for this action" button>then select launcher pro......Laucher pro should be your default launcher now.
B) under settings>Language & Keyboard. Check the box next to all the keyboards to enable them. now open a text or something where you need to type. tap & hold in the text field until the "Edit Text" window appears then select Input Method and then pick your poison....DONE.
Hope that answers your questions bud.
Hello,
I installed MobileVoip and Viber in my HTC One X.
When I call a number from:
- default dialer,
- the contact list
- or Dialer widget
I don't get the option menu "Complete action using" to select Dialer, MobileVoip or Viber. Look at the attached screen-shot (from my previous Galaxy Note). To use MobileVoip or Viber, I have to dial the number in those apps.
I already checked the details of the 3 apps (with a phone icon) in SETTING > APPS > ALL APPS tab. And none has default action, the button "RESET DEFAULT ACTIONS" is deactivated (non click-able).
This menu "Complete action using" appears for other type of action, like opening a .LOG file or a .PDF file.
The missing menu "Complete action using" when dialing:
- Is that a One X bug?
- Do you experiment the same problem?
- If yes, did you find a solution (which one)?
Thanks and regards.
CONFIG: HTC One X. Firmware 1.29.401.11, Android 4.0.3, Not Rooted.
More screen-shots of my HTC1X to illustrate my problem.
- The menu "Complete action using" appear when I open a .PDF file.
- 3 apps (with a phone icon) found in the list SETTING > APPS > ALL APPS tab.
- the detail page of one of those 3 apps showing the "Default action" part.
Thanks and regards.
I found how to get this dialing option menu from the call history (only).
Long press a call item and you get a menu, In this menu select "Edit number before calling" then you get the dialing option menu.
Look at the attached 2 screen-shot.
Are you on the AT&T One X or the International?
Thought this was the fix for the AT&T one to let it pass US customs.
I have a widget (that was originally defined by another developer).
The menu on Long Press on this widget does not have an Edit option. But a Short Press gets me into the config pages and I can edit layout, etc… UNTIL I set a Widget OnTap Action. Once defined, of course, short pressing on the widget executes the OnTap Action, and I seemingly have no way to get back to the config pages.
Am I missing something? a) why is this particular widget lacking the “Edit” option in the Long Press menu, and b) without the edit menu, how can I enter config if I’m defined another OnTap Action?

Open Zooper from your app drawer, then select "Configure Widgets". You are presented with a list of widgets you currently have active (naming them helps a lot here!). Select one and you will get the widget edit screen for that widget.
I don't actually use the Touchwiz launcher (I prefer Smart Launcher Pro 3), but I've always wondered this.
If you open a folder and hold down the menu (the one that lets you choose colors), it says something like "More Options". If you select that, nothing happens. Is this just a bogus menu selection, or is it supposed to do something?
