Here's the situation.
-gpad on official verizon kitkat. rooted with TWRP installed.
-tried doing the OTA update
-upon reboot for OTA update, boot loops to twrp
-flashed stock recovery.img from TWRP terminal
-boot loop fixed and able to boot into original OS before OTA update attempt
-tried OTA update with stock recovery but fails @ 5% with error code ERR:0x13E
-used the LG Mobile Support tool to try and manually update
-goes into download mode
-update fails
-now only reboots to Download Mode
-tried all button combinations to get into any other mode. fails.
-even tried taking apart and pulling battery
Result: still stuck in download mode.
Any suggestions guys?
Just in case someone else is having this issue, I'm not deleting this post.
looks like I got it fixed.
I ran lg mobile support tool on a diff computer and this time it went through.
All up and running again.
I got myself in this same bootloop. Mind sending me the recovery.img file or showing me the way to the correct LG Mobile Support Tool?

I had to wipe FOTA... thanks to id10terror
1. Boot into TWRP
2. Go to Advanced, then Terminal Command
3. Browse to Folder: /dev/block/platform/mdm_sdcc.1/by-name
4. Hit Select button
5. Now in the text field type "dd if=/dev/zero of=./fota" without quotes and Hit "Go"
6. Reboot system
You are a life saver! Thanks.
Thanks a lot from me as well, got me out of the boot loop I created by trying to update using an OTA on my rooted LG G Pad and these commands got me back up and running..
Just ran it now thank you Sir! ?
Pad boot in Download mode only.
What version of LG Mobile Support tool need for restore firmware?

Hi! What variant of the G Pad 8.3 do you have? I would use LG Flash Tool 2014 instead of the official tool, and download the latest official KDZ file to use with it, made for your variant.
You'll have to download the drivers for your variant from LG's website, reboot the PC, then plug the tablet into the PC while it's in Download mode. Can take 1 to 10 minutes to load the driver. Then use the flash tool I mentioned.

I have done this before but I used what seems to be a different version of freegee (didn't have the option to backup efs or flash TWRP) so I unlocked my device and after it had completed I rebooted and then powered down. I put my phone in to CWM and flashed the stock debloated ROM. After flashing this ROM I was stuck in a bootloop. I ended up using LG Tool to get it back to stock. I thought it must have been a random once off issue so I tried again with Freegee, same thing happened, only this time no matter what I do I can not get LG Tool to fix the issue as it keeps giving me the error of low battery even though it is at full capacity. I then tried to use BC2 to flash a kdz file and I get the same error. I have since tried factory resetting, sideloading different recoveries, ROMs and basebands without boot. I have tried to use LG Tool about 50 times and it is not working. I have changed USB ports, reinstalled drivers etc, just keeps giving me that error. Yes I have set permission in the app and I am using Windows 7

Thank you, I will use that if I ever get LG Tool to stop throwing me the low battery warning. What a stupid program to not give you the option to bypass it. Surely there is a way I can do this. My battery is at 99%. I just flashing madmack hacked and lockified recovery and now I can't even get in to recovery to do sideloads. I am running out of options, my only way is to get LG Tool or B2C to work
EDIT* I have recovery back. GRR why is this stupid message about low battery keep popping up

To anybody that faces the same issue:
in recovery sideload install madmacks TWRP file attached below
after that is installed flash CM11 using the same sideload
The command in adb is adb sideload (your file name in here without the brackets.zip) You must include .zip
It is strange because it didn't work the first 3 times I flashed the ROM and on the fourth it worked, so keep trying

Thanks for trying to help. I am not running stock and can not get a stock ROM to work (with locked bootloader obviously)
LG Tool is requesting for a TOT file which the E988 doesn't have, I have tried using E98810D_00.kdz file in the software field but it is not recognising the cab file. The DLL file is recognised but I don't know what else to do from there.
LG Mobile Support Tool keeps failing on me due to low battery error which as you can see, I have been trying my hardest to get it to work. Battery is at 99% but it still won't flash! - I am stuch with a custom ROM and a dodgy unlocked bootloader due to the latest release FreeGee.
I tried the old file you attached but it fails to download the image file to unlock my bootloaders, I guess because it is already unlocked.
What I need now is to find a way to relock my bootloader that doesn't involve LG Tool/LG Mobile Tool and then try the old FreeGee app again. Or I find a way to get passed this stupid battery warning

First try to use LG Mobile Tool. All files and instructions found here CLICK ME
If that doesn't work the follow the instructions I posted earlier and it will get your phone booting again. As for getting back to stock and unlocking the bootloaders without causing kernel issues, I am still waiting for a response from Seth. He has been making a lot of changing as this is a known problem. The latest version is supposed to work like it used to now.

Thanks! This worked 100%. Something's really up with the freegee CWM, totally useless. Had 3 days of a headache till I saw this post. I used to be a CWM guy, now TWRP all the way...! The interface is touch based and much easier to handle than CWM. Best of all it doesn't go into a bootloop! Cheers! :good::good:
I'm having problems with the LG Mobile Support Tool. When I try "Upgrade recovery" it gets stuck at "Downloading software..."
It starts downloading fast, but after it gets about 30% or so, the download speed drops to nil. My internet is stable and fast. According to NetBalancer, the LG tool starts downloading at a steady 3mb/s, and then drops to short bursts of 50-150kb/sec. I'm not having any connectivity issues with other programs.
I let it keep going earlier today for almost 4 hours. It got to about 60% and then the tool crashed.
There's been a couple of times it said something like "Please check your internet connection, then press retry." The internet connection is fine, and clicking retry will bring it back up to full speed for a few minutes before it slows again.
What can I do?

Please don't post about the same problems in two different threads. I'm guessing since you using Volume Up to get into Download mode that you have a VK810 variant of the G Pad 8.3, correct?
If so, try one of the KDZs in my signature for the VK810.4G with LG Flash Tool 2014 (Google for it on XDA). That way you don't have to have a tool re-download the KDZ every time you attempt to recover.
If you want root and custom recovery, it's easiest to get both with the 11A KDZ, then flash my ROM in my signature with the latest TWRP v2.8.7.0. If you just want the latest stock unrooted, download the 36B KDZ.
If you don't have the VK810.4G, don't use the KDZs I link to.

I wasn't sure if this should be considered a new problem, or a continuation of the other. But, I can see how that would split people's attention. My bad.
I will try your steps, and let you know how it goes.
Ok, I succesfully got TWRP and 4.2.2 w/root.
Now I have another problem...
When I flash ViKtory Rom and SuperSU, it will not boot. It just gets stuck at the red Verizon screen.
You mentioned that in your ViKtory rom thread:
5.2.2. One user has verified that on their VK810, that once they flash any version of SuperSU.zip that they've tried, including 2.46 and 2.48 beta, the ROM will not boot. You're ONLY recourse is to get into Download mode and use "LG Flash Tool 2014" to Flash the 35A_08 KDZ, and root it using @Hnk1's thread [VK810][ROOT][Lollipop][5.02] No downgrade required.
Click to collapse
After flashing, I lose the custom recovery and it boots to 5.0.2 without root. None of the root methods in Hnk1's thread succeeded in rooting...
I did this successfully about 6 months ago, so I know it's possible.
EDIT: I just realized that you said to flash the 35A KDZ, and I used the 36B KDZ. I'll download the 35A one and see if I have better luck rooting then.

Re: 35A versus 36B, I just haven't updated the OP. Actually these days I recommend the 11A KDZ because:
1. 11A through 24B can be rooted easily with the Stump app in brute force mode.
2. 11A is 4.2.2, so the aboot (bootloader) doesn't need downgraded prior to installing the initial Loki'd TWRP v2.7.0.1.
Did you upgrade to TWRP v2.8.7.0 before flashing the ROM and SuperSU.zip? Flashing KDZs always returns your device to complete unrooted stock just like from the factory. You should always use "CSE" mode of LG Flash Tool 2014. "Normal" mode doesn't wipe Data or Internal Storage, but especially if downgrading, you can expect that to cause problems.
35A is just as hard to root as 36B. I wrote that tip in the OP after I thought @Hnk1 's method was more easily reproducible. Sorry for the runaround and out of date directions, but you should go with the 11A KDZ.
If you had upgraded TWRP to v2.8.7.0 before flashing my ROM and SuperSU.zip and still had problems booting, you can try wiping Cache and Dalvik again (after flashing), but I don't expect that to work. You can also use CWM Recovery (just flash CWM from TWRP). There's a thread for VK810 CWM on here plus I think I have it in my VK810 section on Android File Host as a mirror, and wipe and flash everything from there. Like I said, that's only if you tried flashing from the latest TWRP v2.8.7.0 (available in these sections) for the VK810 and still had this problem. If you do switch to CWM, you can switch back after flashing the ROM for backups and such.
Good luck!
Success!
Success! I am now running ViKtory rom! It's debloated and rooted and sweet! Thank you so much for your help. I believe this is the 2nd time you've saved my tablet!
One last question: Do I need to flash aboot to access recovery with your rom?
Here's all the steps I took on my path to success, just in case anybody finds it helpful.
===============================================================================
To return to stock, unbrick, or prepare to root.
===============================================================================
1: Open LG Flash Tool 2014
2: Use the following settings:
- Select Type: CDMA
- PhoneMode: DIAG
- Reset time: 33000
- Select KDZ file: Use newest to go back to stock unrooted
Use 11A if planning to root/twrp
- Upgrade with CSMG Client: Normal Flash will not wipe, SCE Flash will wipe
3: LG Flash Tool will open LG Mobile Update tool. If an error window pops up
saying "Cannot connect to server..." Ignore it. DO NOT CLICK OK! It will run
it's course and the tablet will reboot.
4: Done with that.
===============================================================================
To root
===============================================================================
Use Stump Root app. (Bruteforce)
===============================================================================
To install TWRP custom recovery
===============================================================================
1: Connect tablet in debugging mode.
2: Navigate to where loki_flash and twrp.lok is.
3: Open cmd from this location.
4: Run the following commands:
4a: adb push loki_flash /data/local/tmp/loki_flash
4b: adb push twrp.lok /data/local/tmp/twrp.lok
4c: adb shell
4d: su
4e: cd /data/local/tmp/
4f: chmod 777 loki_flash
4g: ./loki_flash recovery /data/local/tmp/twrp.lok
4h: exit
4i: exit
4j: adb reboot recovery
The tablet should now boot to TWRP
===============================================================================
To install ViKtory rom
===============================================================================
1: Boot to TWRP recovery v2.8.7.0
2: wipe system, data, cache, dalvik and internal storage DO NOT REBOOT
3: Go to Mount > enable MTP
4: Copy ViKtory rom and SuperSU zip files to tablet (and debloat scripts if
desired.)
5: Install zip files (may have to switch between IMG and ZIP to see them.)
6: Reboot.
ALL DONE!

Great! You're welcome, I like hearing about successful device adventures.
Yes, the exact directions what I have at the bottom of the first post. I'm unfortunately not knowledgeable enough to solve the boot into TWRP problem with the Lollipop bootloader / getting Lollipop to boot without he Lollipop bootloader on the VK810, although @xdabbeb gave me some ideas to try if I ever find the time.
LG Support tool get stuck at 60% installing new firmware/KDZ files to reset LG ms323 phone to factory settings.
What is the solution to this problem?
Guys I have serious problems with my LG G3 D855 - From Brazil
A long time ago I can't enter download mode because the phone can't pass the download mode logo (?), just like 'd.jpg'.
That wasn't a problem till the same occours in the recovery, just like 't.png'. No matter how much time, the phone keeps stuck in this screen.
My system is CM 13, I can't install any update or kdz or tot file. The system boots ok, the problem is that CM 13 is nightly and some apps doesn't work properly. I've tryed flash original recovery, the new twrp 3.0, the old twrp 2.8.5, and still get this. Tryed clear cache from adb but no sucess.
ADB through system still work fine, that can be a path to my solution.
Anyone can give a hand?
Anyway, Thanks!
Download mode might be about driver

Can you show me the correct driver? I've already installed two drivers for this phone and the Google adb drivers
Hello I hope someone could help me.
I have an lg g3 D855 international version, with kit kat 4.4.2 and its the 10e version.
I've root my device in order to install new custom rooms. At first I wanted to go to android marshmallow official and wanted to do the flashing with lg flash tool, but in every computer I have, it does not working, its either stuck in 2% and then it fails, or 4% and then it fails, and I tried to erase an install the new drivers and the old ones in the computer... But I couldn't get it to work. So I decided to root my device, and install twrp recovery, so I did. First I try to install the latest version of twrp, this I did it directly from the phone via TWRP manager. It was supose to work... But when I finish installing and went to recovery.. It went to a black screen saying "[700] fastboot mode started" or sometimes "[760] fastboot mode started" to my surprise the phone is not softbrick. I removed the battery and then reboot the phone and it works... But everytime I go to recovery or tried to install a new bump recovery... Because i thought that was the problem is still the same. I tried to install a new recovery with ADB but when I put the file path in order to install it... It said it couldn't find the recovery img in the path... But it was there... And I tried, but couldn't get it to work. I have some experience with custom roms on samsung galaxy s3, but change my phone, and this lg g3 is really making me crazy.
Thank you very much in advanced.
Any updates? Im having the same exact problem (d851)
In which computer you are trying the process. Which windows is installed on computer that you are using for installing stock rom.
Which guide you are following to install stock rom. Have you unlocked your device for bump, if not follow the guide.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/orig-development/bump-unlock-lg-g3-twrp-d852-d852g-f400-t2900614
I am dead sure that your board is not d855.open your phone to confirm this.that is the reason your twrp is not compatible with your board.

Same problem for me.
I was using TWRP for weekly update of LineageOS 16.1 on D855 with no problem.
Before updating to Lineage17, I updated it to twrp-3.4.0-0-d855.img (https://eu.dl.twrp.me/d855/) using TWRP App.
Then I tried to boot in Recovery mode and I got black screen with the message:
[700] fastboot mode started
I tried older version with no success installing them with ADB or TWRP App.

Problem solved
Hello,
So, i was trying to install root on my LG G4, version H815 (no letters/numbers after)
I did successfully unlocked my bootloader (info message on left top corner when booting) - official LG unlock
Booted into TWRP - twrp-3.0.2-0-h815 from ADB
- Installed UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip (which is located on internal storage) from TWRP - https://download.chainfire.eu/696/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip
- Clear cache (dalvik)
- Reboot
Phone started booting, and got stuck on the LG logo
I did try to get it recognized in download mode and I did try to enter recovery mode (but I didn't install TWRP, only boot into it.. so I was left with the "default" one)
My phone doesn't enter recovery mode (I get the dead android bot with red exclamation mark)
At this step, somehow ADB recognized my phone, and I tried installing SuperSU again, and once again same thing happened.. I got stuck on LG logo
After this until now, I'm not able to:
- see my phone in ADB
- download mode with LGFlashTool2014.exe to flash .kdz "Europe OPEN H81510D.kdz" - getting error on LG Mobile Support Tool - "Upgrade stopped due to an error'"
I was following this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/guide-lg-g4-stock-firmware-to-stock-kdz-t3107848
Currently I'm trying all the steps from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/help/lg-g4-stuck-bootloop-t3268734
I just wanted to ask, is there a better way? Is there a working way?
Thanks, any help appreciated!

You should also have flashed any custom kernel first that will allow you to not boot but install TWRP and then easily root. To flash firmware for G4 we use LG UP, nor Flashtool2014 and Mobile Support Tool ( G4 is not even compatible with it! It says on their website that you have to download LG Bridge)
I fixed it by using LG Bridge
- Update error recovery option
It installed android 6.0 on it
Then I used BETA-SuperSU-v2.67-20160121175247.zip for root, and everything seems to be fine
Thanks for your help!
