Hello everyone,
I bought a HTC One M8 2 months ago and I have an issue with Whatsapp and "push-to talk" function. When I want to record a voice note by pressing the "mic icon", the recording stops at a variable time of recording and the message sends itself but my finger still pressing the "mic icon".
The problem appears on a variable recording time (50 min, 2 min, 3 min...). So I have to send my voice note in multiple parts. That's a very annoying issue. I precise that Whatsapp is updated and the HTC firmware and HTC apps too. I didn't have this issue on my other phones (Samsung Galaxy S5, Nexus 5, Huawei Ascend Mate 7..)
The smartphone is not a "Google Edition" so it has Sense on it.
I'm french so I do my best in English... I don't know if my topic is at the right place so don't hesitate to move it.
Thanks for you help and suggestions.
I wish you the best for 2015 !

I have purchased a device, one X, but I did not see features in the system impressive when seen on the subject of galaxy S3 See some of the properties that characterize the system ((i say the system and not the device)) my question for programmers and developers you can add features that our system beloved of (one x) and such
1 Property of lock the device (which is linked to eye)
2 Feature video calling(
It's supposed to be present because the camera front available)
3 Face to open the device footprint
And many things I do not remember
It is well known that the device (OneX) features a powerful Hardware
But I do not see anything useful on the system
You need the Samsung eye sensor hardware to use the screen on feature. There are apps for video calling. I didn't know HTC removed face unlock but it should be in most of the dev os. Sense is not going to grow much on this so if you need Samsung then sell before it drops value any further.
My one x has face unlock, go to settings then security then screen lock and pick face unlock.

There is a new property which is not mentioned when the arrival of a new message and the message you want to contact the owner all played by the lifting device directly at the ear and it will automatically connect to the owner of the message
samsung only. just tap the persons name at the top of the message and hit the green call button

Video calling IS available. You just need an app like Skype or Fring. Do note that carriers are moving away from "video calls" and are servicing video calls through your 3g data connection instead. Years ago, phone plans included credit for calls, sms and VIDEO calls. They don't do that anymore. It's all through your data plan/Wi-Fi now.

Very gimmicky. Just like Facetime and Siri, it's something that will rarely be used outside of the first week/month.

I think Samsung has people hypnotized. I mean seriously, your hands are already on the phone working in either a contact, e-mail, or text. So how difficult is it to press the dial key or long press and then the dial key? They slap a name (Direct Dial) on holding the phone to your ear instead and people are awe struck. And what is it going to do if there are four numbers listed for a contact? By the time it asks you which one you want and to confirm pressing the dial key would have been faster.
I'm curious to see what kind of battery life the phone gets. Keeping all these sensors active 24/7 waiting to detect movement or watch you blink has to take a toll on battery life. That and S-Voice constantly listening in case you say something.
Don't get me wrong, some of the soft features their introducing are cool; but they're not life changing (to me). I had Vlingo and it was neat but I never used it and activating the listen feature just killed the battery in the i9100.
Hello all,
This is a bit of a weird one. I have a rooted One X with Maximus installed and it has been great for months and months. I used the phone this morning and it was fine as well. Then suddenly today, the lock screen changes from being PIN input to voice recognition. I have zero idea how this happened, but basically the keyboard on the lockscreen has been replaced by Google Voice, and even if I speak my password, there is no enter key so I can't get in .
Is there any way of getting in because I don't want to have to reset my phone really. Thanks in advance .
make sure that there is no background noise when speaking your password
Hi,
I have VoIP Issues using Viber on Galaxy Note 2 N7100 on Cyanogenmod 11.
The voice call starts off with good quality but then it progressively gets worse and after about 3 minutes I can hardly understand anything coming from the other side (all the words are like cut, i.e. I hear a part of the word only).
If I hang up and call again It is fine for 1-2 mins and the same again.
Meanwhile the other person can hear me without any issues.
It is definitely related to my phone as it happens with anyone I talk to. Also when I use another device on the same network (a tablet or another phone) I have no issues.
So it can either be my Note 2 or the Cyanogenmod, i.e. the combination of both or a Viber bug.
Has anyone experienced or heard about anything similar?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thx.
Hello,
I used nexus 4 for a long time. I used custom rom with Android 7 and it was nice. Time for a change came, and I picked up MI6, It's nice, but it gives me some issues... Did you experience any of these ?
I am running 64gb version with MIUI 9 Global.
1. I didn't see vanilla android 8 roms for this device here on xda ?
2. My google assistant doesn't respond to most of my queries in voice. While on nexus4, when I asked about weather, GA responded in voice. On MI6, GA only displays me the weather without voice feedback. The same situation transpires with other commands - e.g. how does my commute to home look like. Nexus4 would just tell me about the traffic, here only map is displayed. Not all voice is not workingn however, when I ask MI6 GA to say my name, she will respond in voice no problem. Did you experience any of this ?
3. Since I seem to be unable to find vanilla rom, I wanted to install google now launcher, phone, messages so that I can use these apps instead of the Xiaomi's. While Now Launcher, and Messages installed properly and work fine, the phone app from google says it's not compatible with my device...
4. This feels like a quality phone, but my volume rocker is loose, and when you shake the phone (delicately) you can hear it banging around - does your device have the same ? It feels like I should return the phone as broken.
Hopefully this will not get removed Cheers!
Hi, welcome to the mi 6 community
1, yes there are android O roms, we got los15 and aicp13 both are 8.0
2, dont use google assistant, so i dont know anything about that.
3, you can try install these apk's from apk mirror
4, i have my phone in a case since this is a really slippery phone
cheers m8
my mi 6 volume rocker is shaky as well, so it might be xiaomi's problem
I cannot confirm any quality problems. My Mi 6 doesnt have any loose buttons.
the sound might not be coming from volume rocker.. It must be the camera because of the ois....
Volume rocker I just checked on my phone and its lose. I am new to Xiaomi is well.
Volume button has more 'play' in the normal 6 than on the ceramic versions.
It's not broken just loose. A little too loose if you ask me but it's a common thing it seems.
The Mi Mix Fold is great as a media device, but it is full of bugs, there are many problems with this device:
1). the rom, the software on this phone is china miui and there is no custom rom, meaning you are stuck with whatever china region related miui issues such as: 1). no caller name when someone is calling 2).
keyboard gets switched to china keyboard after every restart 3).
many apps won't work simply because the phone is china or in english, so if you leave somewhere else in the world, apps that support your native language might not work properly, 4).
if you set your region in the phone to somewhere outside of china, you get annoying wifi disconnects that are only fixed when turning off and wifi on 5).
because of the above feature unless you open the apps to check occasionally if you received messages, you will miss out on notifications since they can randomly stop working until you turn wifi off and on again, or enter the app manually (I tried locking the app, setting it to auto start, also turning off battery saving options but it keeps happening and whatsapp for example is a pain to handle since I have to manually open the app to see if I have messages.
if anyone knows how to solve any of the above issues or would like to share their experience about this please post a reply, thanks everyone!
Please make a global rom, request to All developed

Hi. I used to have this problem also with my Xiaomi Fold, and after a long troubleshooting period and reading ur post, found the issue are the towers in US, the 5G signal being inconsistent or weak. I installed the app Connection Stabilizer Booster/google store and since then (1month+), notification delay is 5-10mins maximum, no phone calls missed. Most of times on 4G, was showing 5G prior. Hope helps.

Hey its been so long since I posted this, around December I got the mi 11 ultra again and sold the mix fold at a loss, because it has no market here, but it was the best decision I made, the mix fold dissappointed me everywhere, low refresh rate screens, bad cameras, no wireless charging, very bad software support (still on android 11), the mi 11 ultra fixes all these issues and does more, this mix fold was my first and last foldable phone, horrible device in everyway compared to the mi 11 ultra
Instead of the Mi 11 Ultra, I just bought an Oppo Find N after the inner screen on my Mix Fold broke.
(it had been showing signs of damage i.e. stuck/dead pixels, and then one day I pulled it out my pocket, and the screen was suddenly busted and non-functional)
Anyways, just wanted to say that the 8GB Oppo Find N is overall waay nicer than my 16GB Mix Fold was. This is a PSA.
Also, if anyone is interested in buying a Mix Fold with a busted inner screen, let me know. I'll let you figure out the repair.
