I attempted to root my s4, Odin installed super su, which doesn't work it's says no su binary installed? And when I try root apps they say no root access, but in my system settings it says my device is modded, so not sure if I have done it correctly?? I'm new to rooting so a little bit stuck, any help appreciated

Go into developer options and under root access, make sure you have it enabled for apps
Rooted via framaroot, installed Xposed vut then I found I didnt need root so I un installed xposed framework and also unrooted via framaroot. Can Samsung find out it has been rooted? BTW system status is normal and my download mode is just like it was before I rooted

the next time you try rooting proceed here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2445480 which provided a permanent root solution
Ok thanks. I rather do it this way simply because it allows me SuperSU and I can unroot easily without a PC

Never mind I rebooted the phone and super user updated it's self after that every thing started asking for SU permission. I immediately went in to root explorer and deleted the Knox then I flashed ClockworkMod recovery from rom manager. Now I have the Tmobile 4.3 rooted with custom recovery waiting for some custom roms : )

I'm on 4.1.2. I rooted my device with framaroot, installed busybox, run rootfix, done everything the guide told me to do. But when I go to terminal emulator and type su it doesn't ask for root permissions. I had installed Viper and it didn't ask for root on startup and hence I couldn't install drivers. I installed trickster mod and when I started it, it would just keep loading but wouldn't go further. So I checked SuperSU's log and it says it denied permission to viper and trickster mod. But it didn't even ask for permissions! What is the problem?!
Two questions,1 do you have the super su app, or superuser app?
2 if u have either of those, did u allow them to install the su binary?

Hi, i recently won this tablet yesterday and wanted to root it. Have tried pretty much every non computer needed root app out there and none work. Even tried with odin, and i successfully installed twrp....but have no root which i didn't even think was possible lol. But every method for root i see is a few months old before the tab was updated to 4.4.2. So, is there even a root yet for KK? Because I've definitely looked...and if so, please point me in the right direction....thanks! ??
If you have twrp on it, then just flash the supersu zip from chainfire and you'll be rooted.
