Just got my note 2 for US Cellular and I want to know how to get the multiview on my phone. I'm coming from an iPhone (jailbroken). I guess my question is how to get the newest jellybean update or is there an to get multiview without updating to the newest jellybean 4.1.2? Also will I be able to do this on a Mac computer? Thanks in advance

android isn't like iPhone, sprint stuff will only work for sprint phones, just like samsung stuff will only work for samsung phones... either wait for ota update or go to the us cellular forums

Personally, I would avoid the newest "leak" update. The newest official update will come to the phone when you've had in turned on for about an hour, enables the multiview.

So I broke ky galaxy s 2 (accidentally) and thank GOD I had insurance. Well they sent me the galaxy s3 and its beautiful. I am a newh to rooting and roms but read enough to figure out how to root and flash on my s 2. I absolutely LOVED running jellybean bloat_free. Well now that I have the s 3 do you find it as liberating rooting and flashing on the s 3? The reason I ask is I wanted the latest greatest on my s2 but carrier upgrades were essentialy none. Well the s3 is as good as it gets , right? I mean theres nothing bigger and better than what its already running so besides losing bloatware is it any more beneficial? Just curious.

So how likely are we to get this update quickly since T-Mobile seems to have forgotten about our updates so far. Really want apps2sd already with Wi-Fi calling

Sorry bro but I wouldn't hold my breath for any tmobile update. They always have some lame excuse like we're testing for months and months...good news is you can have 4.3 and apps to sd NOW if you root and install a custom rom. Look in the roms change log and it will tell you if its 4.3 and all other features it has. i have apps to sd now with my current rom. So if you don't want to wait for God knows how long you can get these things you want now by rooting. Also you can change back to stock and unroot if you like so its not a permanent thing. There are some wonderful how to root threads in tmobile android development section. Look in the forum for tmobile Samsung galaxy and find the development section where the roms are kept and you should find a how to guide.read read read and when your comfortable with the procedure proceed to root your device. You won't regret it for a second. Best wishes. Otherwise you can wait on tmobile which is likely just going to frusterate you. Ive been with tmobile ten years and my only complaint is their update process.its always one excuse after another why we're not getting our update. So you do have options. You can root and run these things now or wait on tmobile. Its up to you. Best wishes. If your already rooted and just wondering when it will come out my guess is after a newer device is announced. Tmobile is awful when it comes to updates!
Surprisingly the moto x on Tmobile was the first to get the camera fix update. But I guess it's more a patch than an update.

What ticks me off is that this slow update crap is one of the reasons I left Verizon, only to find out it's an issue with t mobile.
Right now I am seriously considering the Nexus 5. For now, thank God I am rooted.
Yes I understand. I went through this with my htc and it makes me furious. It is ALWAYS the same excuse. We're testing and it might take awhile. Its total bs. I honestly think its a marketing strategy of sorts to hold the update as long as possible until the latest and greatest comes out. Then we no longer even care about the update and want to move on..I just don't know why they are this way. I've been with tmobile ten years and I've seen this over and over. Always the same excuse.its really my only complaint about the company. They just won't give us our updates ever so small or large. Until we don't care anymore because we're moving on to something else anyway. Its ridicoulas. So many complain but it seems they turn a deaf ear to our pleas.i was hoping this device would be different and they would send out the update in a timely manner. But its looking like that's not the case. Very frustrating. ..
If you really want bleeding edge updates, check out what happened to the 2013 Nexus 7 and its updates: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2380866
It's bad enough when a tablet reboots randomly; I can't imagine a primary communication device like a smartphone doing the same... you know, like in the middle of a phone call.
I agree with realsis, don't count on T-Mobile. Right now you have 4.3 roms but they might not be perfect, I'm sure when Samsung releases the update with Touchwiz and everything, someone will figure out how to port the features to our S4. This seems like it's been repeated a million times, but latest updates can only come from 2 sources: XDA or directly from Google for Nexus devices.

Sorry but this thread is funny and painful. We know tmobile employees are too dumb to rely on them for software
I'd honestly have a hard time believing that Samsung isn't going to be pushing the providers HARD to get the update out. They've got watches to sell...

Pray for the update in Oct 2014
Im sure not waiting till october 2014 for this update. hopefully I'll have jumped over to something else. By that time. .in the meantime I'm going to enjoy what we have available here on xda... tmobile ALWAYS uses the same excuse every update. "Oh were testing it" or " there was a issue with it" having been with tmobile ten years ive heard this over and over. Different device SAME story. This might sound odd but I think they hold their updates as a sort of marketing strategy. They will wait till something even greater is released by the time the updates comes out its so old it does not matter and we jump ship to the latest and greatest... think about it..if they gave our updates as they should be given we might actually be happy with our device therefore less likely to buy the latest and greatest new device... I dont know I can't help but think that they hold these updstes for their OWN reasons.. hopefully I'm wrong but ive seen this before....
Correct me if I'm wrong, the "WATCH " is only compatible with the Note 3 when it's released. I could seriously see T-Mobile waiting to see how many S4 owners are desperate enough to go out purchase the N3 just to get the watch before releasing the update.

No the watch will be compatible with the s3 s4 and note 2 IF they are updated by T-Mobile/Samsung to 4.3.
Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk 2
They wouldn't do that as marketing strategy because the only people that care about updates are people that know a lot about the phone so if they continued to never update any phones customers would eventually go to other carriers that care about updates versus buying a new phone again that will never get updated

I still think Samsung is in a nice position (in regards to market-share) to push the telcos to release the update. Seems kind of silly anyway since Samsung are the ones creating the update. One leak to SamMobile would put the pressure back on T-Mobile. Samsung has a lot more to gain from watch sales with multiple compatible devices in the wild than they would hoping that people would upgrade to a N3 AND get the watch.
I'll probably still be running CM, but it'll be nice to have an official 4.3 release
I saw a thread somewhere on xda an hour ago about a leaked Sammy 4.3 for the i9500/i9505 trying to find it again to share the link.

I saw this and was wondering is there anything special one needs to do before flashing. Like should I wait for a CWM rom or can I just use the download as is?

My wife just got a new note 2 suggestions for rom and rooting methods . Please keep in mind that I'm looking for a4. 3 rom that's a daily driver with features and I was thinking just root and xposed but I wanted to hear from someone who has been there 1st. I myself have the 3 running x note via safestrap and battery life is amazing.
Not asking for the best rom or anything just asking for one that's alpha no issues meaning i just want to flash and be done with it since I will not be using the phone i don't want my wife constantly hacking about problems with the os.
touch wiz or Aosp

Ditto note 3 :good:
There are two good TouchWiz Roms, Ditto Note and SkyNote Air. I would read the first few posts in each thread and then the last few pages to get an idea of how easy each one is to set up, how often they are updated, etc. You will also learn a bit about the process so it is good from the start no matter which one you choose.
BTW, Jedi X2 is in the T-Mobile Note II forums. It is a good TW ROM and is multi-carrier, it just happens to be hosted over there. Good luck.

I'll add to that, Skynote Air vanilla.
Link here:

Is completely stock with no note 3 features included. Which means less room for problems in the vanilla version. Being it's based off of the MK6 ota update...

I would stick with a very stable 4.1.2 ROM since we know a lot about it.
I know for a fact vanilla edition 4.3 sky note is stable also. But we are still learning about 4.3..also with older 4.1.2 you don't have to flash the new bootloader or anything.
To each their own..start flashing and see what you like

Questions and Help Requests DO NOT Belong in General - Just a REMINDER!
one of the first post in general.
I haven't heard anything tho i think the att one is unofficial technically. I'm waiting on this also can't have tmobile at home without the wifi calling everywhere else its great. Wish tmobile would release like an apk for the wifi calling/ code so any rom could have it i'd be all over cm tho i love the pen features lol. i digress lolz though this is posted wrong thread anyway hope we get 4.4 would love it
