Hello everyone -
Newbie here at this stuff, and I was wondering if I can download the Universal ROM AKU3.5 and install it on my Verizon XV6700 phone?
Thanks.
P.S: Universal means it's for everyone? or is it another brand like HTC, Apache, etc.

Universal is a BRAND, just as Apache is a BRAND.
I suggest you read the Apache Wiki
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Apache
Not much info on there right now, but it will get you started. Also, do a forum search for the Apache or the XV6700 to find out if other owners are successfully able to flash to a new ROM and the steps they took to do it.
Good Luck!!
Thanks for the reply, one question though, you mentioned about new ROM for XV6700 over Apache forum, and I'm assuming u mean the Sprint AKU2.2 ROM right? If so I already got it flashed in my Verizon XV6700 and working now. What i'm interested in is the AKU3.x ROM. Is it possible at this moment?
Thanks.
That's a question you'll need to answer yourself from reading the thread that has the ROM you want to flash to. Each ROM has it's own prerequisites for a successful upgrade, so I wouldn't even want to presume to know whether you can or can't.
Here's the link to Molski's AKU3.2 ROM.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=286988
However, it's in the Wizard upgrade section, so you might not be able to use it on your Apache. The only way to know for sure is to read the ENTIRE thread to see if you could use it on your device.
If so, FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS EXACTLY!!
If it's a Verizon phone, it is not GSM based, therefore it is TOTALLY different from the Wizard, and most other HTC devices.
If you can't do it yourself, learn. If you can't learn, wait for someone else to do it, and find out from them.
Now go have fun!
There a simple guide to do this? I need data working if possible as well.
If there's no guide can someone kindly help me do this? I'm hoping to get it done in the next few days before I have to pay my next refill on my other phone.
Hey just wondering if anyone is able to guide me or point me in the right direction on the best/easiest way to backup/dump my stock firmware, with radio and Rom etc... And possibly zip it up into nice packages for people. If anyone has links to some good guides or just wants to help me out that would be great.
I am receiving my m8 in the next week so just trying to get prepared and wanted to have a nice stock dump for myself and other Bell Canadian users to be able to revert back to if needed.
Appreciate any and all help,
Thanks
ANYONE KNOW OF ANY OTHER ROMS OTHER THAN THE G920P? I.e
Different carrier able to be flashed and work fine on the sprint variant? I'm really beginning to regret getting this device and think an iPhone would of been the better choice(puked a little)
What um needing is the radio or modem or whatever you guys call the baseband for the g920p so I can either test other roms or make my own rom or port one over from a different carrier such as vzw or virgin mobile. Can ANYONE please help me? I'm at wits end over this simple request and am on the verge of just being done with Android all together.
Please and thank you!
Hey XDA gang,
I just bought my 7T last week and it's a killer phone. I'm trying to find and download the t-Mobile stock rom just in case my phone starts having bugs or for rollback needs.
I figure T-Mobile is trying to "hide" their software packages hence I figure someone out there can point me in the right direction and/or provide a link for such files.
Thanks Xda!
