Ive had CM11 for so long i think i am spoiled.
When I look in the language settings on the GN4, unlike CM11, there are only about 5 languages to choose from and Russian (cyrillic) is not there. To be clear, I usually type in English, but enjoy the swiping on the space bar that lets me toggle between languages.
Any help would be awesome. I am still getting used to the note 4, but already I love it.

Hello
I often find myself switching between typing 2 different languages, and it's very annoying that it requres like 3 presses to change typing language.
Anyone know of an app that will make it easier to switch?

Would this do?

Thanks for the suggestion
It's not exactly what I'm looking for, since that would still require multiple presses to change my language if I'm inside an application. What would be better is if it added like 2 buttons somewhere above the keyboard perhaps, one with "English", and one with "Norwegian", or that you could swipe the keyboard to change languages or something like that
It's for when I'm talking on MSN on my phone, I'll have one conversation where I speak English, and the other Norwegian, and then I need an easy way to switch between
Try Smart Keyboard. It lets you setup functions for swipe up/down/left/right, including switch languages.
Hi All,
I have updated to the 2.3.4 and I love it so far. I haven't really noticed any issues, so far.
There is one thing though, I use the swipe keyboard, on international and its quiet annoying that I cannot have the keyboard set up so that the numbers are displayed on the letters as well.
Is there any settings I can change so that I can set this up? My partner has the GalaxyS 2 and his can do it but ours cant???
Thanks, DB
I got a question - what langauges are supported for swipe?

i've tried english and indonesian, it works perfectly.
there is no need to swap languages, just select both languages, start typing (any language) and let the auto-corect do it's magic
On my T989D I installed Mr.X's TELUS stock ICS ROM he made and rooted/debloated.
now the only issue i am having is the samsung keyboard...
i selected both english and korean as language inputs in the keyboard settings
then the space bar is the swipable area to change languages automatically.
i swiped it to korean from english(US) and well.. it doesnt type korean at all
it just types english.
swype keyboard works fine with all languages. but I dont like that keyboard as its too complex.
does anyone know of a solution?
help would be greatly appreciated thanks!
Bump.
I'm trying to change the phone language to chinese. However, there are only 6 languages in the language and input menu.
Is there anyway I can add one more support language?
note that I'm not just talking about input method. I'm talking about whole phone including menu change
I cannot get my Note to recognize Finnish writing in direct input popup window no matter what. Works fine on my Note 3 though.
There is the language indicator showing that it is set on English but the menu that opens by holding on it has no options for other languages even though I've enabled them from settings.
The real problem is that it simply wont accept characters åäö. On my Note 3 the Menu only has Finnish but even with that selected I can write English without issues (like now).
Where's the problem?
Try swiping left or right on the space bar to change the handwriting language. I have Greek enabled in addition to English so that I can write the necessary Greek characters for my scientific notes.

Is there no way to enable both languages at the same time?
Same for my SwiftKey Keyboard.

Under settings/control/languages&input, click the cog next to samsung keyboard. The next page should give the option to add input languages. Then when using handwriting input window, holding down the second item at the top lets you choose your newly loaded languages.
Max languages is 4 including english so if you're a true polyglot you're in for a lot of extra tapping :/
