Lol, I don't know but there's this really cool guy that has a tmo note 4 running dynamic kat that might be able to help you. I hear he's using a really sick red theme right now. Watch out though, he likes to pull pranks in other forums.

Why take all the effort to restore the stock ROM and stock bootloader, when i'm sure someone will have a custom ROM based on the official build, possibly in a day or two?

Yup, that's what I'm waiting for. Why Odin back to stock just to have a bloated Sammy rom, when soon enough one or more of our highly respected Devs will have top notch roms for the flashing.

There's already a rom that came out. It's based on Rogers. It's exactly the same as at&t without bloatware. I have it and it runs great.

I've NEVER understood why in the world people want the "official" updates when they can simply wait a day or 2 for ROM chefs to cook up a bloat, crap free ROM! Why go thru the whole unroot, flash the update then re root again...... Makes NO sense to me, must be really impatient n00bs or something lol justsayin

I run this also, and it works great, but I will say that it's not EXACTLY the same. The lock screen news feed doesn't work, says it can't determine my country...in other words, not Canada, no newsfeed. It's minor stuff.
Shouldn't this be in Q&A/locked due to the fact that there's a discussion thread already for this?

It's just a question.. No need for some of you to get a *****y about a question. I'm on serenity 1.2 and like to have a ROM close to OE... Which ROM were you other guys referring to?
Yea I'm a noob... But I'm sure all of you were noobs at some point...

The only reason people are getting "*****y", as you say, is because you posted your "question" in a development forum. I also was a noob at some point and still act like one here and there but I also show the fellow Xda'ers, devs, and mods alike respect by following the rules of xda and not getting snippy with the people trying to inform of a mistake made. Development sections are strictly for Rom releases and their corresponding threads. Had you posted this in the q&a section no one would have said a word to you. Friendly advice from a semi noob to a complete noob!
Ps people could get a whole lot meaner by the way!! Consider yourself lucky so far!

So many things wrong in this thread
First development is for developers only to post threads
so moving to General
Second there already is a bunch of these so please search before posting
There is a sticky thread in General for this topic to prevent 30 of the same threads
So thread closed
Thanks

Hello all, i have a quick question about my note II that i just purchased. Im currently living/vacationing in bangkok and bought the phone at the mbk mall, for those of you who have been know how crazy/shady the place is, they sold it to me as unlocked but i noticed the data wasnt working so i asked them about it and they quickly ran off to another stall and came back with it working. They ended up rooting it and adding the networks apn to get the data to work and all is well now. Back to my question, id like to know which of the mod section belongs to my phone as ive nornally rooted each android device myself and would hate to have anything happen to it as im sure the people that sold it to me would not help me in any way. Is it the G note II section or original note II section? The phone is a GT N7100 from france
Thanks in advance

Yes i know that much, i guess i should have made myself more clear. What section do i go to for roms for the gt n7100 as the note II section has more roms/kernels then the original note II section
Both orig and dev section have roms.
Original contains roms build from source and kernels and other things.
Dev section includes mods and roms based on other roms like most roms based on samsung or a port or sharing something.

either. as previously stated, the only difference is whether the rom is orignal (built from source) or based on another rom (stock TW and its variations.)

And read entire op. Don't just look at its features and pop thee download link.
Read. Otherwise we will see you posting a bricked thread, and I doubt you'll get any mercy.
Read. Read. Grab a cup of your favorite beverage and read some more. When you think you're done, read more.

I'm wondering what it is about Omega Rom that's so amazing... I see that they have a 4.2 version of it (I believe the 4.2.x version is based of a leak and not an official update). Other than that, though, I didn't really see too many other options that we don't have on TW Roms over here at d2spr. It might be a bit more polished, but I think ours are pretty darn good.

You know I went over to the international GS3 forums and I think I figured out what the problem is. On our forum on the main page is says "Samsung Galaxy S III L710" but on the I9300 forum it just says "Samsung Galaxy S III". Maybe someone can get a moderator to change that to include "International version" and maybe we'll have less people with bricks, because it seems like the mistakes usually aren't between variants within US, it's usually a mistake involving international vs US carrier ROMs

None of the international phones say "international" and this has not happened there. There is an international Note 2 and GS2 that do not have this problem. Even a capital letters sticky that says these ROMs are only for the international version has not stopped some. If people are going to blindly flash their phones without reading it does not matter what the phone is called. They should be checking model numbers.

Why do we have a T-mobile

Aren't we T-mobile USA M919 people the same thing as SGS4 9505?

There's the International i9500 and the i9505... one is the octa-core and the other is the quad-core just like the m919. i9505 and m919 ROMs (all SGS4 models except the 9500, actually) are interchangeable so long as they don't include modems/baseband, etc...but who does that anyway? Oh, and the kernel; gotta use a kernel for your specific model...
Yeah.. I get everything you guys are saying, but my question is NOT "What kind of phones are out there"
My question is why do we have 2 forums, the T-mobile forum, and the other SGS4 forum... when we can all just go into the 9505 forum on xda..

Yea but think of how many problems this would cause because of the 3 or 4 things that are not compatible. Seems like its easier for newbies to just look for where they bought their phone and not have to worry about basebands, Kernels, Radio/Modems and any other incompatible firmware.

I think things are bad as it is and I agree that 3-4 different S4 models in the same forums
is just asking for more problems and a lot more little shiny BRICKS! LOL
What I really would like to see though, and I am surprised that no one else mentioned it before me which is
the fact that there are two Tmobile M919 Forums, one for the "T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4 Original Android Development"
and the other for "T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4 Android Development".
At first when the the "Original Development" forums were created it was made clear to all the devs that all the CM10/AOSP/AOKP/MIUI
roms belong in the "Original Development" forums. (this held true for other brands and models of phones not just the S4)
And now for who knows what reason a lot of the CM10/AOSP/AOKP devs started using the "T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4 Android
Development" forum for all those AOSP/AOKP/CM10 roms so now they are all mixed together with the standard Touchwiz Jellybean
based custom roms.
Sometimes it's not very easy to even tell which is which unless we search real hard in the OP post of each roms thread.
I am surprised that none of the xda moderators here have said anything about it, and it's been going on now for a long time.

Its because the ROMs in the original development section are built from source. The other section may be based on aosp ROMs but its not built from source.
Sent from my SGH-M919 using xda premium
It all is very clear. Of everything is original development for original roms. Roms that have original coding and features. Everything else goes in the other development. It is not just a matter of being built from source. I could build an AOKP roms from source but it would not go in original development. As there is nothing original in the rom. Just a kang of someone else's work.
As for the OP question. The simplest and most straight forward answer is that people are stupid and can't read or do proper research before they decide to reprogram their device. So we have to separate them and give them less chance of screwing it up and then filling this development forum with tons of thread stating how they bricked their device and need help fast, like this is some support site.
Wayne Tech Nexus
When the s3 came out last year, I remember that there was only one forum for the Intl and US variants, boy what a mess it was reading threads that does not relate to the tmo version or the att one. I'm glad xda realized it and separated it like how it is now. It is better this way and much easier to find answers or ask questions related to your specific device.
Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk 2
on the international side roms are based off the international stock version.
Then you have the carrier branded sites for tmobile att verizon etc.. which have roms based off there respective carrier. So for us its based off tmobile rom with tmobile bloat ie wifi calling.
that at least my take.
Whats the difference between Note II Android Development and Note II Original Android Development threads ? what the point behind this and the difference ?? almost all phne models have such threads
Original is dedicated to n7100 the other thread is n7105 lte version basically.
GT N7105 with XDA Premium......that is all......
Original is original work like kernels and cm/aosp roms and the other is for stock modded roms and things like that. That's how I understand it anyway

+1 on that. LTE variant has its separate forum so the 3G/LTE distinction is not valid.
From what I can see, "Note II Android Development" is stock ROM stuff and "and Note II Original Android Development" is AOSP Android stuff, hence "Original Android".
The problem is that some threads aren't in the right section...

Yeah, some threads overlap each other. But big things like ROMs are usually under the right forum.
