Hello,
So I just rooted a friends sprint s3 and for some reason on every single ROM the orientation is upside down? I did clean install for each ROM even stock ROM. I flashed stock tar and still having the same issue. I read a couple of posts saying to add rotation to the build.prop but had no luck with that either. If there's a solution for this could you please direct me in the right place. Thanks.

download a app called adaptive rotation lock
That rotation app works but its just a temp solution. I wonder if there's a permanent fix?

The only s3 with the rotation problem is the T variant, did you confirm by looking under the battery that it is I fact SPH-L710 and not SPH-L710T?
I'm 100% positive there is no "T" at the end. This rotation issue is so annoying. It was working fine without rooting it but now no matter what I do unroot or root it its still the same issue.
Just an fyi also having the incorrect kernel can cause this.

Have a great day! from my LG G3
you can try this kernel it works for the rotation problems on the T model....

He said he flashed the stock tar and still had the same issue, that's why I think it's a T, flashing stock (ND8/NDC) tar on a regular l710 would not give you those results, flashing those same ones on the T variant will.
You know what!! I came home last night to double check to see if his phone had a "T" at the end and it sure does. Sorry for the misunderstanding. That kernel you posted indeed fixed the problem. Thanks. Just one more question if he flashes other Roms will he need a different kernel then the default one the Roms come with?

If they are ND8 TW custom roms then yes he will need the kernel which I provided and for AOSP/CM custom rims he will need the app I provided for now
I have a Sprint Samsung Galaxy S3 (SPG-L710T) that is having the screen rotation issue. Will this kernel work for me of does it only works for the AT&T variant.

Thanks, but on this particular phone I had a 4GB SD card and with lots of app installed it would take lots of space just to backup /system and plus I already have a nandroid backup on that particular SD card occupying over 1.8 GB that I don't wish to get rid of at the moment.

I have been through every Rom looking for this feature, CRT Animation. The ACS Syndicate Rom is the only Rom available with it. Although that Rom over-heats, and drains the battery. I have done everything I can think of or find to get this modification, with no luck!
Currently on Blazer Rom 1.7 LG8
I have tried the CWM Zip files for the international models... although it says installed correctly, does not work.
I have tried the CWM Zip files for the Galaxy S2... once again it says it installs correctly, but does not work.
I have tried the manual code change for the international models... pushed services.jar onto phone and it worked for a minute with a terrible stutter and lag on screen on, after a few minutes it stopped working altogether and left me with this ugly lag on screen on.
I tried then the manual code for the sprint based LG2 models... pushed services.jar onto phone and it did not work at all, and still left me with a ugly lag on screen on.
I have re-flashed Blazer Rom and am once again twiddling my thumbs... PLEASE HELP!

*UPDATE
I have just tried to replace the services.jar in the /system/framework folder, rezipped, resigned, and re-flashed the ROM. Again, it is not working. Any help would be appreciated.
Also, thank you wildgamer100.
Guys, it is IMPOSSIBLE if you are running LG8. You could hack it in the whole framework but that would be way too much work. Samsung messed with the SurfaceFlinger and it broke the CRT animation. Sorry.

Thank you for clearing that up Clark44, If I can bother with a few other questions?
Is it possible after updating to LG8, to flash the modem back to LG2 and then make the modification?
Or, do you know where I can find an outdated version of a ROM, aside from ACS Syndicate ROM, that is still in LG2?
Thanks again!

But I dont know if its safe to replace system files (services.odex) from international SGS3 http://www16.zippyshare.com/v/31271240/file.html . So how did it work on ur sprint? Wouldnt it brick your phone being different hardware and all that??

It seems that upon boot the services files revert back to original ones since they are controlled by the framework itself, therefore do nothing on LE8 either since the whole rom needs to be remodified to include CRT animation fyi on this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1715238 there is crt mod for every firmware version. I have absolutely no idea thou why it would work on tmobile LG2 out of a sudden, so report back when u install that LG2 rom and the CRT files u used (probs we are using different mods).

The current Sprint one will send sms and make calls but gps, and mms do not work. Also the splash at the beginning is obviously Sprint rather than VM.
Thanks,

If we don't see soon I can have someone dump the partitions but that's a little harder than the current way.

I'm on a VM Epic 4G, stock, unrooted(because I can't figure out how to root it), is there anything I could do to help provide stock firmware for this phone?
I'll admit I'd probably need to be guided through it, because without CWM/Titanium/anything needing root installed on my phone I wouldn't really know where to start making a backup, but I'm willing to try anything that won't cause physical damage to my phone, including risking a brick because I've still got over three weeks left to return/exchange my current phone.

Rooting it is actually easy:
1) Grab Agat's Repacked kernel:
[UPDATE][KERNEL][SOURCE] FI27 AGAT_v0.6.8 with tREC_v0.2.2 11/07/12 - xda-developers
The H/W is exactly the same between Sprint, Virgin and Boost so it will do the job.
2) Grab this file and put it on either microSD card or internal storage:
http://garwynn.rainmotorsports.net/subusybox.zip
3) Flash Agat's kernel by Odin or Mobile Odin Lite.
4) Boot into recovery (Vol Up + Power)
5) Flash subusybox.zip
6) Reboot
... and profit!

Worked like a champ for me. I'm not in a 4G coverage area, though, so I can't tell you if Agat's kernel affects 4G performance at all. Looking at that thread, it looks like some people have been having 4G issues but he's working on an updated kernel to try and solve the problem. If 4G is a huge deal for you, you should probably wait on this.

One click is referring to how an item is packaged.
Meaning, it's a simple executable Odin package used to flash an item to your phone.
Most of the time, when someone refers to using a one click, it has all three items needed. Kernel, modem and rom.
Although, one click could simply mean the package itself.
Follow the link and you can flash the no data on top of what you have and end up with stock kernel/recovery as well. Looking for just the kernel. Will link once I find it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=35073538
: edit: Here is just the kernel, one click package.

I apologize. MK5 is a problematic bootloader. Do not try to Odin flash an older firmware over this. Again I apologize. What carrier are you with? I don't think that is compatible with the i747m no?
Oh and also, let's say I want to get Liquid Smooth onto my phone but I currently have Quantum. Do I have to flash back to stock with Odin and then install the Liquid Smooth ROM? Or can I just go and wipe the system now in recovery without going to stock and then install Liquid Smooth in recovery?
Grievous is compatible with the 747m. Im on 747m Bell. You just need to flash a modem and kernel to get data and wifi to work. As far as liquid smooth, you do not need to go back to stock. Installing the ROM and then wiping should work. If you do find that you ever flash a ROM and have WiFi issues, kernel is likely culprit. No data is usually due to a modem. These seem to be more often with new ROMs and most development based off AT&T phones.
Guys here is my problem. I tried to upgrade my Samsung N7105 to 4.3 via OTA and it got stucked on bootloop.
I tried to access recovery mode but it fails, only download mode.
What i did is I downloaded the official 4.3 firmware at SamMobile and flashed it with Odin 3.09
Based on Odin it is successful but im still stuck on bootloop and recovery mode cannot still be accessed.
Tried to root it also and installed CWM to recover. I was able to to access CWM
so i restored factory setting, wipe cache and dalvik cache but still the phone bootloops.
Any suggestions on how to resolve my problem?

Was able to access custom recovery upon flashing. conducted wipe data / factory reset and wipe dalvik cache but still bootlooping was experienced. Is my phone dead already and needs replacement?
After flashing the philz, try flashing a custom ROM and see if u will unstuck from the bootloop, try cm 10.2, it's very light and mostly bug free

Now working cm10.2 but now my next problem is there is no signal. it appeared that imei value is null. how do i repair this? thanks!
By the way after successfully running on cm10.2 I tried to reflash again with stock firmware. bootloop again. i think i will be stuckon using custom roms for now. The only thing I need to address is the no mobile signal problem.
OK so the bootloop problem is done and don't worry there are a lot of amazing custom roms that are based on the stock one and even better features like the note 3 features, as for the imei, please tell me you did an nfs backup if you do, there are a lot of ways you can restore your nfs backup, if you don't have an nfs backup, I don't know what to do.

Not very clued up on losing baseband but it happened to me once when I used a different revovery version to restore a back up. Dr Ketan has written a guide on restoring baseband, he will be able to fix it

Sorry was on vacation for a long time. I wasn't able to update this thread.
Problem right now is I forgot to back the EFS so when I flashed CM 10.2
There is no baseband and IMEI is null. Tried to flash n7105 modem but still it still doesn't work
Have read that I should flash stock firmware to fix baseband and IMEI but 4.3 firmwares makes my phone go on bootloop.
Should I wait for 4.4 update? I want my phone to make it usable again.
My phone right now is useless and works like an itouch hahaha
Any suggestions???
Need expert advise

You may try Hurricane modem changer and experiment with various modem versions. It's a longshot but it may help. Try finding very old modem version and flash that.
Hurricane Modem Changer is that an application?
Where to get it? Also, will it there be a possibility that when I flash Official 4.4 kitkat (when released) on my n7105.
Bandwidth and IMEI will be restored? I'm leaning towards to come back to touch wiz though many of you guys might say that a custom rom might be better.
For one thing, the problem in my n7105 started when i upgraded to 4.3 via OTA

Thanks will try. Aside from this. Where can I find old modem?
Will hurricane modem changer work if I used ditto note 3 rom?

Hurricane contains some older modems along with new ones and yes it will work if you used DN3.

No, it's for N7100 only - the modems are completely different (3G vs LTE).
Please read the original post carefully before flashing, if the HC was not protected you could have lost network functions completely.

Im using an n7105 model. Guess this will not work. Any other suggestions?
From what I understand, the quickest solution is to flash stock firmwares however, i'm quite disappointed that
almost all 4.3 firmwares from sam mobile doesn't work in my phone (always bootlooping)
A technician told me that I should wait for the 4.4 kitkat release, since it might work for my phone.
Now my problem is, I need to have the phone operational. so im willing to flash custom roms for the meantime
but the baseband problem is really testing my patience. hehe

It's pretty strange really as stock firmwares are a complete set of bootloader/modem/system that should in theory work perfectly well together without any incompatibility problems. Have you ever tried to install one of them without sdcard and/or simcard installed, maybe you have some leftovers from previous system (Android secure directory) that causes bootloops, also did you completely clean internal sdcard prior to flashing, it may create the same problems as external sdcard.

im not sure if i cleaned the internal sdcard prior to flashing.
It started with the OTA update that failed then I tried to flash stock firmware via odin
do i have to do a pre-requisite before flashing it again? so you are suggesting to remove the simcard and external sd card prior to flashing?
Since I didn't see anyone pull the modem and kernel from the last stagefright update in Sept., thought I'd do it for the few of us that still have this old device.

Was there an OTA for T-Mobile? I'm currently on a AOSP Rom.

Yeah, but you need to be on a stock ROM to get the OTA, or you can download the whole ROM from sammobile.com. It's a security fix for stagefright. I just wanted to try the new modem and see if it made any difference. I won't be able to test the kernel, since I switch back and forth between a 4.4.4 TW ROM and 5.1 CM ROM.
Appreciate the info, have you notice better signal with the new radio?

Maybe a little better signal (?), but basically the same. Haven't been on it real long, I'll have to see if the standby improves after I've been on it a while.

Are you dual booting? Is it possible?
Warning, don't flash this modem. I did and it killed my baseband. I tried flashing 3 other roms which wouldn't even finish booting to my phone before I finally realized it and flashed my original modem back and all was working again.

Working fine on mine. Did you maybe get a bad download? You could maybe try downloading again?
Which modem did you go back to?
Flashed fine and so far no issues. Previous user might have a bad download or different device.
Flashed via TWRP today.. I had no service after reboot but did another restart and it was working.
Don't know if its any better than the previous modem version but will give it a try. thx
Working great here no issues

You caused the problem when you altered the stock ROM. From your thread about it here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-2-tmobile/help/recent-tmo-ota-update-bricked-wifes-t3245890), you said "Had her note 2 with stock 4.3, Rooted it last year to titanium backup and uninstall a couple bloatware apps. " This is what caused your problem. It was no longer a stock ROM when you remove apps. I know it doesn't seem like it would be a big deal, but it is, and you found out unfortunately

That's kinda what I was thinking had happened.
I suppose I shouldn't blame the OTA. I just noticed someone else had issues with it too.
so to the people that actually flashed this new modem and kernel, is it working better than previous iterations?
question:
I flashed the C0H4 modem on note 2 (nameless lollipop rom) seems ok...
DO I have to also flash the Kernel ? is there an advantage to flashing the kernel? thx
Hello! Thanks for this! I flashed this over TWRP 2.8.7.1, and wiping my dalvik cache. My phone's originally T889UVALK8 (16gb SGH-T889 t0ltetmo) and the signal drops but after flashing this (C0H4) the signal greatly improved, although I'm having some signal instability since I'm supposed to have full bars because my house is just in line of sight, 2km from the tower. Also I think I'll do a clean install of another custom ROM since I'm using the CM12.1 t0lte nightly, and maybe this affects my signal (I know I'm stupid for doing it but it works).
Welp. After rebooting, the phone lost signal again. I have to do a wipe of dalvik cache to restore my signal. I guess I'll try using another ROM instead.
Upodate: I may be experiencing hardware issues. I have yet to flash back to stock since my phone's signal drops. I can't flash the firmware because it says 'zip signature verification failed.'

It's just the ROM I flashed that makes it say that. That ROM is in my signature... DN4
