Hello everyone!
Last week I updated my Desire 816 to software version 1.60.401.1, and suddently camera (both cameras, the front facing one and rear facing one) stopped working.
The system camera app simply goes black just as opened, third part apps stuck as soon as got to the camera function (e.g. Instagram).
I tried clearing the system camera app cache and data, but this does not solve anything. What should I do now?
If that's an hardware issue, it is so strange it came just after the update!
Ok, problem solved. I performed a software reset as described in the user manual (long press on power button, choose reset, click on yes).
I asked the phone owner if she had done it, she said yes, but actually she hadn't: she had just switched it off and on again.
Sorry

I have Xperia Arc LT15i with android 4.0.4 build number 4.1.B.0.587.
When I start camera, camera don’t start but the message "Unfortunately, Camera has stopped" is showed and that’s all.
I tried to reset me phone to factory setting but camera still don’t work.
Have you some ide a or advice how can I solve this problem?
If your camera used to work well and you did not make any change with your phone such as installing new rom, editing system files ... then you may get a hardware problem, bring your phone to repair service. However, you also should try other tests (if you can) to make sure it is hardware problem not software. You should use other camera apps from google store or install a new rom.
My first suggestion would be to clear data of all camera related apps. Settings - Applications - All, look for apps that may be related to camera, and then clear data of these (yes, one by one).
Hello everybody,
I have problem with stock Camera application on HTC One X. Everytime when I start Camera app, app just exit and stay in recent apps. I read a lot of different topics about HTC One X camera problems over this forum but nothing helped.
One thing worked but I made mistake. When I turned on my phone today, after 3 months, there was HTC available updates. Actually three updates. One of them was stock Camera app. I have installed that applications and tried again stock Camera and it worked.
My mistake was that I wanted to delete all trash from phone and do hard reset, after that, stock Camera application don't work again and HTC don't send application update again.
I tried to overheat G-sensor (not working)
I tried different camera apps form Google Play (all working) just stock Camera app don't work.
My phone isn't rooted.
Does anybody know, how to force (or something like that) HTC to send stock Camera application update again?
I tried standard ways, Settings > About > Software update (there is no any update), *#*#checkin#*#*, clear google firmware data... nothing helped.
Solution
After hours of playing with phone -> solution:
1) Go to Apps manager > All > Search for updater > Clear data
2) Go to Settings > About > Software update
If problem still persist, wait few hours/days and try again, update should come.
After updating stock camera application, everything work as usual.
No so lucky for mine .both camera,s are dead .
[Q] [HELP] Getting "warning:Camera Failed" error popup when camera app is opened!
I keep getting this when I try to open my camera or any other third party camera application .
i tried clearing the cache , factory reset, hard reset and also removed Sd card n tried, still nothing.
But i am able to use the front camera on snapchat or on a hangout video call alone. If i tried to switch cameras ,they would just crash.
A fix would be really helpful!!
PS:
i bought the phone elsewhere and cant return it or exchange it

Hi all,
My camera app freezes each time I open it, i tried safe reboot, restart, reboot and factory reset.
The only solution was after the factory reset the app worked again for 1 day.
Any ideas?
Mine has the same problem, but factory reset didn't help it. I'm on stock marshmallow
Solution to camera lag:
After multiple factory resets and reinstalls I found out the solution.
The camera lag is caused by HTC Speak app update.
I don't know what link this has with the camera but number of people have reported it
So in order to fix this perform the following steps:
1-uninstall HTC Speak Update
2-force close camera app
3-restart the device
These steps worked for me.
Camera is working fine now and maybe a even snappier.

Yep camera is working like a charm the problem is with the HTC Speak app. Thx
After many factory resets and tests, I have concluded too that the HTC Speak app is the problem. Last night I gave the phone the final reset, and set it up with my normal accounts and apps, with the goal to cancel HTC Speak at the end. The problem is that now, the camera is lagging and I cannot find the HTC Speak app to uninstall it (not even in system apps). I cannot find it even in the playstore to uninstall it. Any ideas?
Factory reset or use ESFile manager to manually remove HTC Speak
A new update was released today for HTC Speak, seems to work ok now
Hello, I am happy owner of 1+3 (coming from Xperia U) and I am very happy with this phone, no bugs at all except for this. Normally it works perfect but after maybe a day of usage without restarting phone, recent apps (or open apps) tab not showing any open apps but its definitely graphic bug only because all apps that I open again are normally loaded from memory. After restarting phone it works, even all opened apps before restart are showed. Oxygen OS 3.2.2. See screenshot before and after restart.

Sorry for links, this is my first post...
I'm Also having this problem in 3.2.2. Already had it in 3.2.1.
Sent from my ONEPLUS A3003 using Tapatalk
Here are your options
1. Factory reset
2. Root it and remove unwanted apps
3. Flash another ROM. My suggestion is flash this STOCK BASED ROM..Which is perfect.
Also just had this for the first time yesterday on 3.2.2. Recent apps reappeared after reboot.
Same problem for me
I had the same problem since last upgrade to Oxygen 3.2.2 and fixed with only doing a reboot to recovery (you can do it from power off menu if you mark the option advanced reboot in developer options or if you start the phone holding down power+volume down button at the same time) and then reboot to system normally again and voilá the recent apps button worked again for me.
Hope it helps.
Un saludo.
Get in touch with OP support team
Guys, I have talked with OnePlus 3 support. They wanted to schedule a remote support session with me, but that involves flashing a new firmware, and as I do not feel like tinkering with my new phone I had to decline.
Is anyone experiencing this issue wanting to do some flashing to help the community? Just open a ticket with OP3 explaining the problem. They'll get in touch in no time.
Anyone?
Same problem for me on Oxygen 3.2.4. Only reboot helps!
Clear google app data
This is supposedly a google voice activation bug.
To fix it (atleast temporarily) clear the Google App's data from application settings, then the Recents window starts showing the apps
Awesome! That worked for me. (OnePlus X)
