Hi,
It's possible to pair Fire TV Remote to anything else? I want to pair it with ADT-1
Thx!
Ok Fire TV Remote pairing mode = 5 sec press Home button but my ATD-1 does not see it but my Nexus 5 pairing and I can control it... Do not know why ADT-1 does not see it...
I was trying to figure out the same thing. looks like the FireTV remote uses BT 2.1 while the ADT-1 uses 2.0 (the nexus player is going to be 2.1 also so lets hope the controller is 2.0)

Restart your device
You may need to restart your device.
Disconnect the power cord (from the back of the device or from the power outlet), and then plug it back in.
Try pairing your remote or controller again
Remove and reinsert the batteries for your remote or controller.
The remote should automatically try pairing with your device.
You have five minutes to pair your remote with your Amazon Fire TV device before it goes into sleep mode.
If your remote isn’t discovered, press the Home Button button for 5 - 10 seconds to try again.
If you have ADB enabled, these two guides should help:

You could also try the Fire TV remote app available for Android and iOS to get back into regular FireTV menues and pair your regular remote again.
Hi. I'm just new with amazon fire tv stick.
When I press any button on my firestick remote, the stick is able to turn on my Samsung smart tv and set it in the right hdmi input automatically (hdmi2 in my case). But I haven't found a way to turn the tv off.
Is it possible to turn the tv off and/or control the tv volume using the FTV remote?

There is no off for any of the FTV device's. So the TV turns on because your FTV device is coming back from Amazon's version of sleep (black screen) mode.
The best option out there seems to be the SideClick which has only gone on sale twice.

Unless your TV can be controlled with your cell phone or tablet.
The best option is a remote with both IR and RF. Best Buy has a harmony remote for 30 with this functionality. (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/logitec...niversal-remote-black/8167004.p?skuId=8167004).
Amazon has tons too. Some have touchpads and game controller buttons.
Hi,
I have 2nd gen Fire TV stick non-4K. I have configured the correct inputs for cable and Fire TV, in the Fire TV settings. HDMI-CEC is enabled as well.
Speaking "Alexa, switch inputs" seems to work fine.
However, I want my TV to change to correct input automatically when I press the home button on the fire TV stick remote.
How to get this to work?
Are you using launcherhijack?

I am running stock launcher, unrooted as well.
I always have to long press home then home again to get it to switch to the right input through cec
I found the reason for this issue. It turns out Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC on Samsung) does not connect to firetv, if I have my cable HDMI also plugged into the TV.
Removing the cable HDMI, and just having firetv stick plugged into the TV, makes HDMI-CEC work fine.
With Anynet+ functioning, I am able to change inputs correctly by pressing Home button + Back button on the fire TV stick remote.
I still don't know how to make Anynet+ work with my cable plugged in.
Hello everyone,
I am running KODI on my Firestick on a LG tv, which passes the sound through optical to a soundbar.
Unfortunately I cannot control the sound level through the Firestick remote, but only through the soundbar's remote.
However, for VLC videos the Firestick remote works fine also for the sound.
So, I wonder if there is any special setting that could make also the sound volume of KODI to be controlled by the Firestick remote.
