need to wait to see if someone converts the ota to a flashable zip or put your stock recovery back on and take the ota update then put custom recovery back on.

hey, i have a htc desire on orange but orange dont get updates. if i flash a unbranded rom on it can i still receive htc updates ? or can i flash a without a root ?
i do believe if you flash it to a htc rom you will get your updates from htc not from orange...correct me if im wrong but i believe thats correct

can't root it try'ed but failed and now recovery wont boot get error in red
Same I tried the windroid universal toolkit unlocked bootloader but I couldn't find a costum recovery I tried installing the 820's then I ended up with no recovery

i talked to HTC and told them about the recovery they said that they will tell the dev-team and will contact me via mail still waiting for them found the RUU file on a site but i need to register and pay 40$ monthly fee for the account
No roothing guide yet
HTC Desire 820q doesn't even has a working rooting guide yet. We can only unlock the bootloader and the next recovery step won't work. So it would be better to wait until lollipop is released for 820q.

Hey guys
I wanted to know how can i unroot my desire 816 ? I tried the super su method and clicked on full unroot it restarted and i still have root access,any help will be much appreciated.
I guess you have to reboot to recovery immediately and flash stock recovery

Please advice how to unroot HTC 816 and return to official stock ROM.
Current Version is 5.0.2
Unroot HTC 816 Dual Sim ( Indian Ver) 5.0.2 and back to Factory Firmware
HTC Desire 816 Dual Sim Lollipop India Version
Charge your Battery 100%.
Firstly you have to lock the boot loader.
Download the Correct RUU from below link

After download the correct RUU, Rename the Zip file as per your Model such as, mine is 0P9CIMG.
Place this Zip file into your memory card.
Then boot your HTC 816 into HBoot mode.

Finally you will get the phone on Factory version.

When I do whatever you told, After entering HBOOT it gives me error, FAILED (remote: data length is too large). Please help..

Thank you. Yesterday, I flashed the stock recovery and relocked the Desire 816. Now, on Bootloeader, it shows Relocked - Tampered - S-On
The ota installation doesn't work. Do you know, how to remove tampered ? Will this RUU work?

You Can't Directly Install OTA
But Can Able Extract OTA with RUU and Continue Installation
i have htc desire 816 dual sim a5_dwg and i need stock lollipop recovery to update it to masrhmellow anyone please provide me.
Stock recovery for HTC DESIRE 816 A5_DWG.
And also i couldn't find the downloaded update in the file manager.
i am new to XDA please help me.
Download the MM TWRP backup and restore it using twrp on your phone and factory reset. I hope that will bring you to MM version.
