Back up help
If your looking for a simple enough back up solution, I would check out one drive. Free account has 15GB of cloud storage. I think you get bonus storage for installing it on your android and PC. I am a fan but always handy to have an EXTERNAL SD to dump your pictures on automatically. They are cheap enough and can live on your phone(ish) forever.
My two centers, I am sure someone else may have conflicting pennies to share as well. Enjoy!
If youre really in the need to back stuf up kies 3 is a pretty good one. It backs up everything from messages to pictures and even the applications you have installed. Its npt everyones favorite but it is an option

sure, it's my pleasure to help others here.
I use wm6 with a 4GB MINI SDHC(Karmba 4.0). After i use bluetooth internet sharing with my laptop, i found that all 1.4GB data disapeared from my sd card. Instead of them, i saw 3 files which have strage name on them and cannot be opened. All these files are 0byte. Then i insert sd into my laptop, right click sd to check property, i knew all data still on sd card, because the property of sd card shows "1.4GB used". After that, i enable my laptop to see hiden files, not see anything from sd card again.
Finnally, i found a tool called "Final recovery". This tool bring the most of files back to me, not all of them.
I suppose, the internet sharing write all the internet temp files into my sd card, then all my data had been overwrited. So, even when i use recovery tool, cannot recover all of them.
Karmba 4.0 set internet cache and temp folder in the sd card by default(Karmba 4.1 maybe does the same thing). Thus, i think maybe this is where the problem comes from.
By the way, i really appreciate what Karmba did for all the user here. His rom is quite good, But i think 1.2 is the best one. The others really need debug.
Hope this information can help other people who have the same problem. Cheers.
It's nice for you to share about your experience regarding recovery.
However, I think it's worthy to point out that SD corruption could be caused by almost any program that access the card. It has been discussed many times in the forum.
It's actually a HTC bug, which goes unfixed. Artemis got a fix to its SD driver long time ago.... Anyway, prevention in my opinion is far better than recovery. Look for a program called "sdsentry" and it will notify you when the corruption occurs and allows you to reboot the machine to prevent the corrupted FAT image got written to the card itself. It will save your day. Try it.
Just got a GT N7100 few days ago. rooted it. i have lots of games installed like max payne, gta3 etc. so all my storage is gone. i want to ask how do i move games and apps to external sd? can i backup game data which is everytime whopping over 1gb so that i do not need to download it again if i reinstall any game. is there any way to move gamedata to ext. sd?
and:victory: i just got idea if i do not uninstall game back but just backup gamedata and delete it from phone to free up memory and when i need app i just move back data to its original location which is usually android data, will it work.
i have 300 mb free space and now my phone doesnt allow me to install an app even less than 1mb of size..any idea......thanks in advance.......:good:
Moving to external sd has been asked and answered before. Here is one I replied to: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2010235

No if you want to use the same files/folders on another phone. The game downloads files for your specs, not for other phones.
If its for your or another Note 2 then it might work if the game has not been updated since your backup. If it has been updated it might need the new files.
RE

That will probably work unless you open it by a mistake. Maybe not if it has the permission to run at startup. It could look for the files then, and not find any.
Both of the solutions i linked to works for me.
Directory Bind is most useful for me with this phone.
And then you don't have to wait for the copying every time you want to play a game.
re
can u shed some light on directory blind and how to use it?
I used this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1889550
Remember that apps with root access can do everything they want with your phone, including making it as usefull as a brick.
Don't use an app with root access until you think you understand a little of what it does, and you have read a few reviews/posts about it.
Be extra careful with root apps that are not in the Play store/Market. This is not. Why are they not there? Maybe because Google rejected it because it does bad things?
I wanted all of the data in the folder DirectoryBind on my external SD card. What you are supposed to do then (step 2 in that guide) is change the default data path to /mnt/extSdCard/DirectoryBind. I wrote /extSdCard/DirectoryBind because my Galaxy S II had a link to the microSD card there. The Note II does not, so the /mnt/ is important
Took me a while to realize what was wrong...
Thanks man .. DB did the job.....everything s now fine.
Startup soung stopped working?
hey man ! after installing DB startup tone doesnt work..any ideas?
The Samsung tone when you turn on the phone? I don't want that, so let me know if you find out what removed it.
So I connected it to my laptop to clean up some of my files and folders and to transfer some things onto my pc.
I remember deleting some folder called Mogo-Audiance or something along those lines, as well as another folder that seemed to be unimportant. I try to then move some music files from the download folder into my Music folder (transferring within the phone at this point) but it says theres some error and it can't be moved. I rebooted and replugged tried again no avail. Then tried moving a picture from phone to the computer. Error message again. Reboot once more and this time when I go into MTP only two files remain: Android and Viber. I check my phone itself and all my photos/videos/music are gone. Apps still remain intact however. I already tried Stellar Phoenix Recovery but it won't detect my phone.
Very frustrated and have no idea how to proceed.....
I attached some screenshots showing empty phone folders on pc and phone itself as well as recovery program being unable to detect phone.
Android 4.3 Jellybean-Carrier: WIND Mobile (Canada)
It cannot detect phone because it needs to Mount as USB mass storage device. No external storage= no UMS
You might be able to dump raw IMG somehow of storage and put on flash drive and try to recover... but takes lotta work.
Seems like you deleted something you shouldn't have. Take it as lesson learned to not just delete random files if you don't know what it is

I'm sorry to hear that.
And also sorry to say I cannot help anymore than providing this information here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1994705
As I said, it is a lengthy and maybe in depth process but MAY be possible. No guarantee.
I haven't ever had to try this tho so I cannot give any more or better info other than what is in that thread.
Just take your time, use Google for things you cannot understand(you may ask me or here in this thread also for clarification of some steps and if I can help I will) and try not to stress.
And one thing I will recommend for future use is to install G+ and turn on photo sync settings. I have this on. You get 15gb free storage for photos and will backup as you take pictures and videos OR whenever you tell it to.
Or you could use dropbox or similar as that also has a photo sync option available. These things are invaluable in terms of peace of mind for if situation like this ever occurs again.
Hello Guys,
Phone Specs: Note 4 SM-910A Android 6.0.1
I'm felling kinda "not so smart" today, because by mistake I pressed the Trash icon when in the Gallery, just wanting to get rid of one image in a folder and quickly realized that preview was for the entire folder and not a simngle image thus the entire folder of 3000+ images and videos where deleted by mistake
I tried to stop it and it looked ok, nothing happened "seemly", but within a few mins all was gone.
The second not so smart thing is a lack of a current backup, as I don't seem to connect my phone to a computer like I used to, so it was out of sign out of mind. So my last backup was May of 2017.
Then using apps like DiskDigger shows me 13,000+ files, but most are junk from what I can see and I'm still missing what I wanted to keep / restore.
dr.fone and anything I could find seems like pure trash or at least for my phones version it has ZERO value. Also tried taking the MicroSD and using working USB converter(s)many computers will not even read it. So I will not reform it, or maybe all will be lost forever. It must be in some type of proprietary format, but I can read the card, :when it's in the phone" in the list under My Computer showing SAMSUNG-SM-N910A as a drive / device.
Also I'm not sure what to use that works like an Itunes type of backup, that will always backup even over WIFI, so this can never happen again. Are there any tricks to this that I'm missing, is there no file restore that indicates previous path and or deletion time and date.?
Thank guys for any help / direction you can offer.
Don't know about recovering your files but I use foldersync to backup my phone automatically at night when it's plugged in to the wall and on wifi, I set it so it backs up to my smb share. The app has several ways of doing backups and where to save backups
If u have Google photo sync enabled then ure stuff is backed up so check ure Google account first.
If not them there are 2 ways go about it from pc or straight from ure phone.
Install one of the hundred of free undelete/restore apps from playstore or Google on pc. And just let it scan ure SD card it will find all ure pics just don't save anything new to the SD card until I've recovered it or u will start to loose some data as new stuff overwrites the old. As for videos Ive had mix results so your milage may vary u may get some u may get no n e u may get all but unplayable.....who knows video files are more complex than pictures and documents.
Hi, I accidentally deleted 700 photos from my Samsung Galaxy S9. I purchased FoneLab-Android Data Recovery but couldn't figure out how to use the "advanced Root" to get the deleted photos. Everything I looked at, regarding root apps, said not to trust them. So, it's been 3 days now since I lost the photos, but I haven't used the camera because I read it could overwrite the photos I'm looking to recover. Can anyone help, in layman's terms? Thank you! Cheryl
If the photos were on the phone and not the sdcard I'm not sure there is any way to recover them as the internal storage is encrypted, heard of people bricking their phone trying with various recovery programs
If they were on the MicroSD card you can run pretty much any PC software recovery program, although there are specific ones for USB/SD cards too
Future reference, make regular backups (How did you manage to delete 700 photos accidentally?)
Hi, thank you for responding. I think they were on the SD card. The album shows a picture of a camera and an sd card. So, I went to delete a video I just took but didn't realize I was on the "folder", selected it, and didn't realize until it was too late that I selected the whole folder! I hit cancel when I saw it was deleting over 700 photos, but again, was too late. So, if they were on SD card, how should I proceed?
Thank you!
Cheryl

Take the SDCard out of the phone, get a reader or adapter to put it in so you can connect it to your PC
Make sure you do not copy anything else to that card
Install this on your PC
https://www.easeus.com/data-recovery/card-recovery-software/sd-card-recovery-freeware.htm
Follow instructions to recover files to from the sdcard to PC
Good luck
Thank you so much! I'll give it a try!
There is a site about recovering data from an Android phone. But for your Samsung S9, you need to root it first.
www.android-data-recovery.com
Another option.

recover deleted photos
hello,
Maybe you can use the Bitwar Data Recovery to recover your deleted photos. As you have lost hundreds of photos, most data recovery tools are not free to use. So I think you can try this freeware.
Well bro, the situation is very hard to bear as I can understand the worth of those 700 photos. When luck is bad then you cannot do anything. But one thing can be done to get back lost pictures from your Galaxy S9 and that is by using a recovery tool like Android Photo Recovery.
Yes, this is the only solution that can bring back your disappeared pictures from Samsung phone. But remember you should not overwrite the files with new data. Using a recovery program is the only answer to your data loss and all your pictures will be restored without any backup required.
But I would also like to mention that if you have created a backup then kindly check them once. And if not then you must use the a recovery tool like Android Photo Recovery.
