P600: A small observation and a couple of questions (Knox 0x1, TriangleAway, etc.)

I've noticed that there's been some discussion about the new knox bootloader in regards to rooting our device. Now, when I boot my I9505 into download mode I get this wall of text in the upper left corner telling me "knox warranty void 0x1 blah blah" and likewise when I boot into recovery captain obvious knox pops up in the corner reminding me that I'm running a custom recovery.
Now that I have rooted my tablet and flashed TWRP via Odin I have yet to see a single sign of that infamous knox flag. Download mode - nothing, recovery boot - nothing... nothing except my settings telling me my device status is custom, and even that can be spoofed via Wanam Xposed.
Am I missing something or is the knox bootloader simply not present in my firmware version? (XXUBMJ6 NEE/nordic countries)
Also, has anyone had success using TriangleAway on the P600 to reset the flash counter? Not that I currently need it, just curious..

hi. I want to know how you flashed TWRP for P600 as i cant find the file anywhere on the internet. . I rooted it using a stock recovery. I froze the knoxx apps as they were interfering with my root and giving notifications on a security threat. Please any help with TWRP i cant find it.

There is a big discussion about this in a german forum is use:
http://www.pocketpc.ch/samsung-gala...278-anleitung-root-fuer-note-10-1-2014-a.html
It's weird that the p600 does not have the same download mode display as the p605. It says nothing about knox on the p600 download mode. So the guys on the other forum are confident that triangle away should work to reset the counter on p600 because it's not a knox flag. But as far as I know Triangle Away does not support the note 10.1 2014 yet. So I guess we have to wait and see

Strange, strange... because first I got this. See: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2538464
But now the text in the left corner is missing. Maybe because I use the wanam tweck? This means that there is - maybe - no hardware flag
PS. Also when I open the system update in the settings, I didn't get any longer a warning that the update is blocked?! I got it in the beginning...

Thanks for the reply and the link.
A "warranty void etc." message has popped up in download mode as of now but you're right, it says nothing about knox whatsoever, and the strange part is is that it didn't appear until I actually flashed a mod via recovery and wiped cache/dalvik. Before that there was no message in the corner, even though I had already flashed cf-root and TWRP via Odin.

Same here. Even though there were no updates available at the time I last checked I got no warning message.
Maybe the P600 just has less security implementations than the other versions for whatever reason...
''Knox warranty void 0x1'' is the KNOX FLAG. It means that you cannot use the secure Knox container, and you will not get OTA update. Of course you can download and install new software updates.

No warranty too, though, sadly...

Yes, but it does not say anything about "KNOX" or "0x1" when I enter Download Mode. I should also correct what I said in my previous post. It doesn't say "Warranty Void" but rather "Warranty Bit: 1".
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: SM-P600
CURRENT BINARY: CUSTOM
SYSTEM STATUS: OFFICIAL
WARRANTY BIT: 1
This is identical to how it used to be on the old 4.2.2 non-knox bootloaders and it's NOT the Knox flag. It's the binary counter.

I have SM-P605. I think Knox bootloader is present from 4.3 onward. If SM-P600 has Knox app in the apps drawer and Knox security apps under Application manager then it's likely to have a Knox bootloader Tripping the Knox flag means the Knox container can never be accessed or used again but the phone/tablet itself is OK for regular use. I have not come across a phone/tablet with Knox apps and non-Knox bootloader.
Knox has been mentioned in this SM-P600 thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2618509

Whether a Knox bootloader is present in the P600 or not, then at least the flag is not visible in download mode or during boot. Either way I'm satisfied as long as I don't have to be reminded every day that my tablet is running an unofficial kernel and recovery.

[Q] Samsung note 2 N7105 - KNOX not working

Hi,
I updated my Samsung galaxy note 2 N7105 for firmware 4.3 and I found that my Know was was and also the home screen changed to hot air balloon image, Then I tried rooting the phone but was not successful. Therefore I again flashed the firmware with 4.3 but this time the home screen wallpaper returned back to original one and Knox is not working and saying your device is not authorised to use Knox.
I really liked the Knox feature, Can someone help me how to restore back the phone so that I can use Knox again.
Thanks
Wtf?
Do you even know what knox is for and it's "features"?
Sent from galaxy n7105
If you root and trigger the Knox flag(0x1) you're device has Knox warranty void. This means Samsung will not support a broken Knox problem.

Hi,
Yes I have used Knox before. Yes you are right and I have read about 0x1 binary counter, but the question is there any way to reset this counter so that one can reuse Knox ?

[Q] Unroot can trigger the KNOX?

First of all, sorry for my bad english :silly:
I just rooted my tablet with the towelroot, and i used the phone INFO to see if my tablet was KNOX triggered, and it was not :fingers-crossed:
So after that i was thinking if is possible to unroot the tablet without changing the KNOX?
And if its possible, can you please give me a link to the process?

First, you need to boot into Odin (download) mode to see if Knox is triggered. You can't use Phone Info to see if Knox triggered. Knox is only triggered when you root, not when you unroot. If you rooted and knox is not triggered, when you unroot it should be the same.

Haven't been on this forum for a while, did someone figure out how to root without tripping Knox? Not that it matters, I've already tripped mine.

Hi RussellEstridge o/
As far as i know the the towelroot is one of a few methods that can root your Android without triggering it...
One of the good things about this root is that he doesn't need a computer to do the process.
Well, I hope you find a method to solve your situation... Good luck :fingers-crossed:

Noob needs helps to get back to stock :D

hi guys,
i'm asking for your help, I want to get my tab pro 10.1 Wi-fi back to stock,
I explain my problems, I rooted successfuly with Odin and I must say I didn't get all the informations before doing that, because I ran into porblems like random reboots, freeze of the tablet and it's related to the fact that I froze Knox with SuperSu. (and more of that I didn't knew that it would void warranty tripping that Knox counter to 0x1, and block updates :'( )
So now I want to get completely back to stock, and make that Knox work again and don't want to be rooted anymore.
If someone can tell me how to do it, it would be awesome
thanks to all., and have a nice day.

Download stock rom for your device from Sammobile web site, flash it using Odin then do a factory reset, you will get stock system back but KNOX will alwasy show as tripped you can't reset that to 0x0, it will remain 0x1

How about this http://samsung-updates.com

Restoring tablet, ROOT and KNOX question.

Hi everybody!
I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 that I have rooted with TWRP and SuperSU.
And now I want to sell this tablet and I want to unroot it so that the buyer could use the warranty of the device if needed.
How do I go about doing that? If I unroot it, can the repairmen see if KNOX has been broken?
Sorry for bad terminology, don't know much about rooting.
Not possible to reverse knox. The warranty us void.
Ok, thanks!
How do I go about making the tablet as stock as possible then?
I've installed TWRP and SuperSu.
The best way to get as stock as possible is to flash a stock firmware via Odin! Just download the stockrom matching your device at sammobile.com/firmwares and flash via Odin
I read on this forum that most of the time they will repair your tab even if the knox has been tripped.
The latest KingRoot now has an uninstall feature if you need to return your tab.

It will still say custom. The only way is to flash stock firmware.
