It will only work if your cell company uses the same 3g band the phone is designed for. If not then it will never work and you will only get edge

Just trying to understand if you've done the Troubleshooting right.
1- Is 3G Enabled in Settings? (Network Type Selection -> WCDMA Preffered)
2- Is Mobile Data Enabled?
3- Does your network support 3G?
4- How do you know 3G isn't working? Is the phone showing "G" in the status bar next to Signal Strength or is it showing an "H" or "3G". "H", by the way, is better than 3G.

[Q] About Network Type in LGOG

Hi. I am curious about the Network Type in our LGOG, it says GPRS always. What does it mean? And what are the other types? Please check the SS.

Go to Setting / More... / Mobile Networks (in the bottom). And you set Network Mode you hope.
it means that ur phone supports gprs only it doesnt support edge if it does edge will be written in place of gprs..
also if u use 3g or 4g it will automatically change to 3g or 4g..

Okay, thanks for the info. What's the difference in those network types?
the speed of gprs is 56kbps and edge has speed of 236kbps
it means u will get 8KB/second on gprs and 25KB/sec on edge..
when u use mobile data which sign shows above network bar..

Check your APN settings - Check that Network Mode is GSM /LTE Preferred.
Sent from my SM-N910W8 using Tapatalk
Yes bro the network mode is GSM /LTE Preferred selected .

It's probably due to the radio reception in your location, it can't find what's not there.
when i flash back to stock firmware the 4g is working but with generic ROm the 4g will disappear .. and H+ comming instead 4g

H+ in some areas is considered 4g. Could be just an icon issue with the custom rom.
Check this out........http://telecomtalk.info/difference-between-g-e-3g-h-4g-symbols-we-find-out/121666/

It's a built prop entry. If you look in the build.prop\ro.product.model= instead of SM-N900T it propbly has something else in there or the international one.
If it does, then change it to SM-N900T.

Not sure if this will help. I use this and it works on certain ROMs
Use a root explorer app. I use es file explorer to change or add this value to
feature.xml
This sometimes works depending on the base used for the ROM.
Hope it helps
And as an FYI signal reception was the same when icon was h+ vs 4g - LTE icon.
But I guess it is a placebo effect

4G Network Spectrum

Hi
Currently I'm not being able to get the 4G network and in mu country they're using the 1800 frequency (LTE 1800).
Is there a way to change it in the settings so as I can get hold of the 4G?
Thanks.

You should get 4g on the 1800 frequency. You can change between 3g and 4g in mobile data settings. However even if your network has 4g it will display 3g if you are not in a strong 4g signal area. It is the same here in the UK, 4g is fine where I live but I go over a bridge 5 minutes walk away and I can only get 3g! On some networks you need a new sim card for 4g to work as I did. Also do you have the correct APN settings for your network?
Yes I have the correct APN; otherwise if it's wrong I won't even get any data connection. Yes, I might be in a region where it's weak or unavailable but when I'm in a region fully covered by 4G, just outside the HQ of Orange, I still don't get it.
Try using mtk engineering mode app from play store(by go! or themonster) to force LTE - it's under telephony/network selecting.
yes then what do you do?

4G question, A520F

Does the single SIM model of A5 has 4G? In the settings I can see the 4G option but I haven't ever saw the 4G icon on the status bar. I think only one time I saw the 4G icon and it then I was using a ROM. So what is happening?

Hey there, for me 4G also works on stock rom with no problems whatsoever.
