Em thnx mate..
Sent from my LG-D855 using XDA Free mobile app
I just updated OTA to 20b and have this problem. No wifi, status bar or navigation bar.
The internet at home is so slow that to download another ROM would take nearly 3 days lol so that isn't really an option for me.
Im really not impressed that the first time I have tried to stick with stock ROM on a phone it doesn't work!

I believe if you just did a CSE flash or clean flash off 20e (why didn't you just flash 20f btw?) it worked fine. It makes no sense that it magically works if you first flash an older version.

I have the same issues, SystemUI randomly starts to disappear it seems. My last 36h:
Pick up device from shop, comes preloaded probably with 10A
I say 10A because it was towelroot'able which I did
Installed bumped twrp
Upgraded to bumped 20F (taken from these forums, flashable zip)
Once on L I realized Xposed doesn't work, thus downgrade
Downgrade to 10N using flashtool CSE flash
Neither towelroot nor PurpleDrake seemed to do the trick, furtzer downgraded to 10L (obtained via entering IMEI in LG download page)
Still no root possible, further downgrade to 10A
Obtained root, bump, unhappy with Kitkat so upgrade to bumped 20F again
Since then I regularily lose SystemUI, only way to bring back is complete wipe in twrp and complete reflash
So in the last 36h I had ENDLESS reformats, flashes, fullwipes, back and forth
Yesterday evening I FINALLY had it up and running, 20F WITH root and WITH SystemUI (navbar and notification bar) and it was looking good, except I couldnt write onto the internal storage. So as there is no option to format the internal storage from within the system, I headed to twrp, formatted the internal storage, booted back to android and had lost SystemUI. Then went to bed. This is where I am now. F###.
One could think it is a permission problem, fixing permissions doesn't lead nowhere though, wiping data doesn't either. I don't exactly know what SELinux does but as wiping the internal storage triggered it (*it = this bug/issue/problem), I reckon it must be SELinux as permissions on /system weren't touched in any way. It must be something running along with the system and my guess would be SELinux.
this is crazy, for the first time in 3 years i told myself that i should try to stick with stock for at least a month to feel the "regular user" experience.
went awfully well, flashed the ota and first i got no wifi, so i factory reset that motherf**ker, yay wifi, but no systemui..
stay stock they said, it works great they said

I had this same problem after going back to to stock 20f from the Cloudy G3 Rom.
I tried flashing 20f a number of times with no luck, same with 20h. I then flashed back to 10l which restored the system ui and I was then able to flash back to 20h and have the system ui back. So far so good so heres hoping it stays that way.
All of this done with the LG Flashtool, for some reason I also had to reinstall the drivers before each flash from a lollipop rom and had to start the lg pc suite from the KK rom to have the phone properly read by the Flashtool program.

Problem not solved actually, I had the systemUI back but no write access to the internal storage. This appears to be an issue with the SELinux content being screwed up. So far the only solution I've found is to go back to KK (10L) which is working fine. If I go to lollipop either using the LG Flashtool with 20F or 20H or go to 20F via the LG PC Suite its always ends up with no access to internal storage.
It is in fact an SELinux problem. It's fixable - unknown to me if root is needed or not to do that - by recalculating all SELinux specific values for the /data partition. This at the same time also fixes unwritable internal storage, which is also SELinux bound.
Get a terminal app installed or hook your device up to your pc and establish an adb shell session and run the following command:
restorecon -FR /data
Reboot afterwards. Should be fixed. Please report back if indeed it does work and if you're trying without root, if you succeeded running the command with no root access available.

I get an access denied error when trying the command so it looks like it's only fixable with root access. In the end I've gone back to 10l, rooted with purpledrake and then installed Cloudy G3 ROM with a full wipe and format data which has solved the problem. I haven't tried flashing a stock ROM again, as I was pretty over it by that stage.
Hi I am having the same issue. It all started when I tried to go back to stock from CloudyG3 2.2. No status and navbars on any LL stock ROMs. However, everything is fine on all KK ROMs. I tried everything the following but nothing worked:
- clean CSE flash
- installing 10a before 20a
- installing 20a before 20h
- running the shell command "restorecon..." with SU permission
When I try to run the command "restorecon -FR /data", shell reports invalid parameters (i.e. there is no "-F"), but it works if I remove "-F" and use only "-R".
Any help would be highly appreciated!!!

In the end what fixed it for me was to go back to KK and then flash a Lollipop rom with a full wipe as well as formatting storage. I've sinced played around with a few different lollipop roms without having the issue come back again. I think you can also use the command "restorecon -vR /data", but can't guarantee that.

Hi can you pls tell me what do you mean by "full wipe and formatting storage"? Did you just go to the Settings > Reset and erased everything? Or is there some special shell command? And which KK --> LL ROM did you flash?
Also, did you flash both KK and LL STOCK roms, or some ROM from here?
Thanks buddy! Getting very desperate here!

you'll need to root and flash a custom recovery in KK, I used TWRP. Then do a full wipe (Wipe>Factory Reset) as well as Format Data which is also under the wipe menu. I originally flashed robalm's rooted 20f stock rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/development/stock-t2961073 which all worked fine. I would think the current 20i would work just as well.

Hi all, first of all...sorry if I did not provide enough information...I am first time doing this whole flashing thing on my own...
My phone's CID number: HTC_044
Version main: EMPTY <<< is this normal?
Version bootloader: 3.19.0.0000
Using stock ROM i suppose...didn't flash any other third party's ROM before
My phone was rooted for sometime and lately I want to upgrade my phone to Lollipop...I thought I need to unroot first and therefore I found solution online...everything went fine and I was able to upgrade to Lollipop using the official way (update through phone).
However, later on I was trying to root it back...tried to download SU from Google Play and it just can't install properly...I then thought have to re-do everything again (restore back to basic OS version).
Then this second time I do, I wiped the data, cache, and dalvik cache (I did not do this for the first attempt). Then things start to go haywire...my Android files are not going into the internal storage...instead...it is being installed in my external SD card.
I then tried numerous time flasing back to basic OS version (Kit Kat 4.4.2) and update to Lollipop again...still no luck...
Until yesterday I thought everything worked out fine...and I tried installing Facebook...it says cannot install...
Can anyone help me on this? I also not quite sure what went wrong...hope you guys can enlighten me...will try to provide as much information as possible.

That is not the proper way to root. Installing SU from the store does not root the phone. It just install the app, not the SU binary.
To root, unlock the bootloader, install TWRP and flash the proper version SuperSU zip in TWRP.

Noted bro! You r really helpful!
Hey guys, hope someone can help me. A few days ago i've flashed the new android m gpe rom and everything was fine. Then somehow i lost root access and tried to fix it. Unfortunately, i'm not even able to flash the fixed rom that was posted a few days later, so i decided to come back to the skydragon sense rom. And for some reason i can't. I try to flash the .zip, it opens in aroma installer, everything goes fine until the installation itself starts. The rom starts to flash, comes to ~20% and then the system just reboots. I've tried both twrp and filz touch, nothing helps. Also supersu doesn't flash properly. I'm not really professional in this, so i might just do somethng wrong, hope someone can help:crying:
Btw i'm s-on.
UPD: I've made an advanced wipe and the everything works now, so if you have the same problem then just try to do the same, see if works.
Did you flash (via TWRP) the GPE ROM, or do the full conversion via RUU?

Would this ROM work on Verizon HTC One M8
Hi all,
I've tried to just flash the 6.0 mm rom on my Verizon device, it is s-off with latest firmware, but it just bootloops to the bootloader, then I tried installing the 6.0 firmware and re-flashing the rom but still the same, after that I tried the full conversion and it did not work got same issue, after that just tried to go back to sense installing back the sense firmware and a different rom and I got same problems as fellow above,
My solution was to install RUU from external sd-card from bootloader by renaming the zip file to 0p6bimg.
If someone made this Rom to work with a verizon device I would appreciate the help

Just read your edited post, this is a weird issue, I am sure you factory reset through recovery before installing the new ROM, I normally go on advanced wipe and tick all the boxes and my installs go through perfectly, I also installed GPE 6.0 but I realised it wasn't rooted so I just went back to 5.1- sky dragon, does TWRP say anything just before it reboots? e.g. Failed or something else?

This is a big red flag here. Philz hasn't been updated in ages, and older versions of TWRP won't work on Lollipop firmware (if you tried an older recovery like Philz, it occurs to me you may be using an old version TWRP as well).

ROMs won't work on Verizon, unless they specifically support Verizon (or else you need to change kernel and jump through some other hoops to get it to work).
The partitioning on the Verizon M8 is different from all the others. You're lucky you didn't brick the phone with the GPE RUU.

Will try to erase everything later, maybe tomorrow. Twrp says everything's fine, and aroma doesn't say about any issues, just reboots. Well, when i try to flash supersu for example, it goes fine, but the part when twrp places files(or what it does i don't remember), goes just a few secs, when usually it takes much longer on that stage, so i don't know what the problem is. Anyway, thanks for an advice, will try that and tell if it helps or not

tomorrow i'll try everything you guys advised, see if there is a solution. thanks for the support man
Yeah, it is normally recommended to do a full wipe or factory reset through TWRP before installing a new ROM (back up your stuff through google), never led me into any issues.
I don't know if this is related but when I was on 6.0 GPE, TWRP notified me to install SUPERSU, i had a test to see if it would work, but ended up with boot loop, a simple factory reset fixed it and I went back to 5.1.
Let me know how it goes when you wipe or reset and then try installing!

You mean flashing SuperSU after Skydragon (you don't specify)? If so, its not necessary, as all custom ROMs are pre-rooted unless explicitly noted.
Also, older versions of SuperSU won't work on Lollipop, so depending on what version SuperSU you tried (again, you don't specify), that may have been the reason for failure.

I would caution users about following this device literally. It is not necessary to wipe internal storage and/or SD card when flashing a ROM (although particular users may have reason to do so for specific reasons). And if the user has their nandroid or ROM.zip on that partition (and they must have the ROM on one of those, unless they intend to sideload it), its going to get wiped out; causing some confusion and probably panic.
The advice I normally give is: Its called "Advanced" for a reason, and don't wipe it unless you know what the result will be; and you have a legitimate reason to do so.
For instance, I've lost count of the times folks have posted that they wiped system, and don't understand why the phone will no longer boot into OS. Or they wiped internal storage or SD card; and didn't know that it would wipe out their nandroids.
The TWRP default wipe (data, cache and Dalvik) says "most of the time, this is the only wipe you will ever need" and it says that for a reason. If one runs into problems flashing a ROM, they might elect to wipe system. So like I said, a legitimate reason to wipe a particular partition.
But on the other hand, I've done a countless number of ROM flashes on a number of devices (including Skydragon), and never wiped any partition outside the "default wipe", and never had any such issues. Even wiping system (which many swear by) I suspect is often a placebo. When you flash a ROM, system will be wiped by definition, so doing it manually is redundant.
I suspect the failure by the OP was not wiping data and/or cache (they never specified they did that originally or not).
Thats true yes, i dont think I made it clear to do the default TWRP wipe first to see if it would solve anything and then try advanced wipe if all fails, but again with caution.
After reading a litte I've got one question...So if I want GPE rom do I need to convert my phone to GPE or just to flash the rom ?!
hey ppl..
i've used aosp roms for a long time.. (had stock LP before) but i cant manage to boot any stock rom (via twrp)

For some time, I have one problem which I can't fix. I mean, maybe I can, but don't know how. Since my OP3 arrive to me, I'm playing with ROMs and I tryed almost everyone for this phone. I think that when I once installed FreedomOS, I by accident selected in Aroma "swipe bottom left to lock screen". But that "feature" still persist in my phone despite of wiping system and changes ROMs. Every custom ROM that i tried have this issue except these which are stock based. Can anyone help me?
What kernel do you have? ElementalX and some others have that feature as well
That's the main problem buddy, I am not using any of custom kernels @KeelinTy

Yes, everytime I'm doing clean flash
Could possibly be something going left over in the partitions after flashing a new image. If you really want it gone you can wipe all of the partitions from Fastboot. My freedomos boot logo would stick around until I did that

Okay then, how command I should write to do this?
Fastboot erase system
Fastboot erase boot
If those don't work try replacing erase with format. I can't remember which works with which partition since I haven't done it in a while.
I'd suggest only doing this when youre ready for a clean install of the OS since you'll have to replace all of your data as well

If those don't work try replacing erase with format. I can't remember which works with which partition since I haven't done it in a while.
I'd suggest only doing this when youre ready for a clean install of the OS since you'll have to replace all of your data as well

Flash a compatible Ex Kernel on top and make sure to uncheck the Swipe to lock option. I had made the same error a while back. This fixes it

I already tried this mate, but that also doesn't work. Do you think that I should try this again? You did this with OOS version or lineage?
LG V30 Sprint LS998-30A ROMHi!
This Rom is 99% Stock. Most recent TWRP should first be installed. Then you can install this Rom and have Oreo with working TWRP.
This zip is created from the original KDZ.. It is made by me flashing my back to factory zip to lose TWRP and root and taking the OTA and then using lgup to dump all the partitions and then making a flashable zip. It contains almost the complete 30A firmware, but the partition table rewriting part and recovery image is removed. I changed the system.img, so you do not have to reinstall TWRP (recovery-from-boot.p deleted) when ROM is booted. I also changed the partition size of system.img, so the vendorized people can install this too without having problems because of a too small system partition. This is a continuation of westwood24's idea and work, I've updated it to the newest fw version and edited / advanced it a bit. I followed his idea and made this for users who can not take OTA's because they have Custom Recovery / Root installed.
Features
[*]Stock build made from official KDZ
Made from me taking OTA and dumping Partitions
Stock Build.prop (only 2 extra lines added for DTS, full weather lockscreen)
[*]Unrooted
Latest Canary Magisk Pre-installed (19.4 -087b451e (19308))
system.img modified to keep TWRP
System image size shrunk for being able to flash this on a smaller system partition, mainly caused by vendorizing
Removed dm-verity
Removed rctd (LG's root checker tool daemon)
Enabled opt-encrypt, it's your choice now if you want to encrypt your phone, it's no more forced. TWRP now is capable of decryption (both AOSP and stock) since a few versions
Installation
What you need
Unlocked Bootloader [How to do]
Working TWRP installed (should be installed already, otherwise you wouldn't need this zip )[Link to newest unofficial TWRP]
[*]When you need Root, Latest Magisk [Download]
No Longer Needed on 30a
NOTES
Starting with 30a
Please make a full twrp backup in case anything goes wrong. if after installing you lose your texts or your launcher changes back to the default stock launcher or some other weird bug like that, restoring just your DATA backup will fix it. If after flashing 30a you experience random reboots immediately after booting, DO NOT worry. This same thing happened to me and i believe that its just finishing the update with sprint. When this happened to me, I could see the Finishing Update notification in the pull down. My device rebooted about 3 times and in some cases became extremely laggy and i had to force reboot by holding vol up and power button . After the 3rd boot everything settled down and became stable and no reboots since.

How to install
When you are still on Nougat,
you should start fresh: Reboot to recovery using button combo or reboot app (needs root; btw, Magisk offers this possibility too: Menu -> Modules -> three dot menu top right - Reboot to recovery)
Then flash this TWRP.img via image flashing function in TWRP, reboot to recovery again (for fully working new recovery) and do a backup, then copy this backup to your PC.
Then initiate a factory reset. Wipe your system partition too in TWRP advanced wiping menu, copy the 30A firmware zip to your SD and install it. Reboot and enjoy
From Oreo:
For clean install: Factory reset and wipe system
You can also keep your data by simply dirty flashing the zip. *Be aware that problems may occur, maybe you need to do a factory reset to start fresh*
Flash the 30A zip, then Magisk zip when you need root, then reboot to System = you're DONE
P.S.: could be, that you first need to boot up your fresh install and set it up before you can flash magisk. No Longer Needed on 30a. Just Flash 30a Zip.
At the first time you boot to system, it can be TWRP says No OS installed. You can ignore it.
If TWRP asks if you want to install SU, hit no (in newest TWRP SU is disabled, and the option to install the TWRP app is disabled too.)
Rom Version
Android Version: 8.0 Oreo

Your welcome lol. Took me forever to do this. Had to backup and then wipe data then flash factoryls998 zip from sprint thread, then take Ota, the use lgup to dump all partitions then kdz to us99820e to root again then create flashable zip. I've tested it and it boots just fine
I can add this to WTF instructions tonight -- to join the Verizon and AT&T stock firmware TWRP-FLASHABLE zips already listed.
Thanks for you, @seadersn and @david.542569 efforts in making the North America stock firmware TWRP-FLASHABLE zip ROMs.

Sounds good :good: btw if anyone hears about us998 kdz updates please let me know. That's next on the list. While I'm waiting on that I'm going to finish the magisk module for @Whiskeyomega audio mod. Got permission from him to not only turn it into a Magisk module but im using xmlstarlet to do it. Xmlstarlet is a xml parser. It allows on the fly editing of xml files. This will allow the device to keep its original mixer_paths xml and my module just add the modifications in. This is extremely useful since whisky and myself both have seen LG deploy multiple mixer paths xmls. Why? No idea. Every regions mixer_paths is different. Not by much. But in my head patching is ALWAYS better than replacing :good::good:

:crying: This place is the Krypton to my Superman. I have no power here. I'm just a regular user in "this neck of the woods". You'll need to report the posts so the mods for the LG forums see them to delete them. Really, though, replacing content of the posts with "deleted" has the same effect.
Thanks man!
I have been having too many weird problems on my 21A and was about to do a wipe and clean flash of that one from back in May, and wasn't looking forward to it. I've been using the same system partition for probably 3 months without resetting anything.
I'm excited now that I can flash an updated version instead, now! Ill try it in the next 2-3 days and let you know if anything feels odd (I don't suspect that since you say it's about 100% stock).
Thanks again for your work, and taking the time to upload a TWTP flashable version :good:

should be yes
Ive been running it over a full day now, debloated and tweaked a bit. RCS and VoLTE is working after ##72786# and a PRL and profile update.
I don't have any obvious issues, thanks again!

I did a clean flash and restored my apps from google (first boot up) and then used titanium backup to restore app data for the ones that needed it.

Before this one I was using the stock Sprint 21A ROM that @JWnSC shared in his US998 to LS998 guide here.
I never could get an AOSP ROM to work the way I wanted on a LG V-series phone, even though I still try every 2-3 months, going back probably 4 years. Especially now that Sprint has RCS and VoLTE activated on their Network, I don't see an AOSP ROM on this device working with those two things functioning any time soon, if ever. That and the DAC not being perfect are the reasons I'm still on stock LG.
I wouldn't ever recommend an LG V-phone to anyone on Sprint who plans on using it as a daily driver with AOSP. Those LTE features will probably never be supported.

Thanks for the reply. I'm also running that same 21A ROM.. I figured a dirty flash would be ok,.. according to the OP dirty flash should be fine.. will try in the next few days.. As far as AOSP ROMS I've stayed away from them after reading about all those issues.. I've never been a huge fan of AOSP ROMS but in the the past I've tried them out on other phones just to flash and try something new...
I have not seen any mention of this yet, but I would like to mention the fact that that most of the major LG stock apps have updates to them on apkmirror. Camera, QMemo, LGHealth, LGBackup, FMRadio, SmartWorld, Gallery3D v7.0 and a few others.
I install these apks then use LP to integrate them into /system . You must put magisk into core only mode when you integrate the updates into the ROM, otherwise you'll just get errors like "not enough space on target".
I actually made TWRP flashable zips for all these updated apps so that you can just flash them in recovery and not worry about having to "integrate" anything. If there's enough interest in these zips from others, I can upload them to a cloud somewhere and share them with everyone.

Compared to 21a, is this worth the risk? Does it have a new radio? Could someone post their baseband?
---------- Post added at 10:29 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:50 PM ----------
I seem to have lost LTE on a dirty flash ... Is there something else I have to do with the Sprint modem? Baseband is Def different
Perhaps I am just getting bad LTE reception today, but I am only getting 3g...odd
