Hi all,
Has anyone noticed the stock email app puts deleted mails into the "important" folder instead of the bin in the Gmail account? Don't know if it's just me, my account or my phone.

Tried changing settings inside Google account online, hunted through Google search for a reason, cleared cache and data but no joy. It doesn't put all deleted mail in important, just odd one or two but after a while I ended up with a right abundance of crap in there.

The Gmail app and the stock email app both behave the same, so it can't be the actual client, it must be the way Google handles some particular email. My yahoo account works fine in both client apps

Market being slow is completely unrelated. It was a general.. thing.
As for the mail thing.. what, precisely, do you mean by "takes longer to pop"? :/
change back to googlemail and see if that fixes your market, if it does and you want to use gmail do a factory reset on the phone and set it up with the gmail address.
worked for me when i had the problem after switching to gmail.

That is also Google's official advice, they say they're aware of the problem and working on a fix. I'm just glad I've had a gmail address from day one even though I live in the UK.

deleting the accounts and re adding doesnt work.
email provider is google apps using gmail pop and smtp servers. on our own domain.
ROM is the stock Telstra (aust) android rom, latest update.
Worked on IMAP but it was slow retrieving emails.
with POP we have all sorts of problems.
why dont you try adding that account in the gmail app or use gmail activesync (google it for the settings)?
for the gmail app you can create labels which will take you straight to the account or account/label you want.
Or add your account to the email app using gmail active sync.
I use it the first way and it works like a charm.

does the app support custom domains?
ours isnt @gmail.com its @cscommunications.com.au but uses gmail servers
Yes it supports custom domains.
you can use default settings from the gmail app....
got the email on the gmail app and seems to be working okay.
Just left with the bloody calendar problem!
adding entry's on PC and syncing to phone works fine, they show up on phone, but editing or adding entry's on the phone will not sync the changes back to pc.
What do you guys recommend?
-Much Appreciated

Glad I could help you. Ta.
My phone stopped working with yahoo mail, is anyone else having problems with yahoo mail on phone, and have figured out a way to repair it.
Are you using the Yahoo mail app? I am and I have problems on and off. Usually I can clear data for the app to fix it, other times I have to uninstall and re-install.

No, I think it's HTC mail app that accesses multiple accounts.
I deleted and re installed the account and did no good.
On my phone, I had all my contacts saved under [email protected] (my university email runs on gmail system) google account althought i never had any success syncing them from my phone.
Just now I deleted that google account on the phone forgetting the fact all my phone numbers were there. Obviously I cant get em back from my google account since there was never a successful sync.
Can anyone tell me how I can get back my contacts?
Thanks

It never synced with the mail system. So basically I'm asking whether I can recover it from within the phone instead of syncing
Export your contacts to another Gmail account, log in with that and sync - job done!
If they didn't sync to an account your SOL. Sorry.

If you can access your uni mail in the Google Apps interface, maybe you can export your contacts there into .csv or .vcf. So you can import them in your main Google account or just locally on the phone via 3rd party Android app that imports contacts.
I'm hoping this is possible.
So on my personal phone I always use the gmail App for my accounts.
I just recently started working for a company that doesn't issue cell phones, but will set up your exchange account on your personal phone, so i've gone and done that.
Everything works fine, accept the Exchange account is accessed through the Stock Email app, and it is also synching my 2 gmail accounts. Is it possible to remove the gmail accounts from the Stock email app? I've gone into the app's settings and I can't see anything to remove them. I can see the option to stop the sync, but that does me no good for whats already been synced.
Any tips?
