I have an unlocked Nokia Lumia 900 from Rogers. As I'm sure most people here know, getting MMS to function on an unlocked [Nokia] Windows Phone can be a hassle. I've tried hard resetting my phone, changing the APN, etc, and so far I've had no luck whatsoever. Can someone guide me through a process that will enable MMS to work? It's fairly important considering the number of messages I send/receive every day...
Download Network Setup from the Nokia collection. That will configure MMS.
It's not available in Canada, for whatever reason.

Sorry, there's no way to configure MMS without Network Setup.

Tango doesn't let you edit MMS apn's.

Hi,
I had the same issue with Fido until another user on here helped me out. I called Fido and had them reset my data package. I believe the user called it re-provisioning. I have attached the link to the original thread. I just said I was having data issues which was not untrue because my data connection was extremely slow and that I had talked to someone who suggested reseting (re-provisioning) the data plan. After the re-provisioning the MMS started working and my Visual Voice mail (visiual voicemail through mms, not the windows phone as its not supported on Rogers from what I understand). In addition my data connection finally seemed to work correctly.
here is the link:

Hope that helps.

I'm trying to set-up MMS to work on T-Mobile USA. The problem is that the Network Setup app is missing some of the MMS APN settings fields, specifically, MCC, MNC and APN Type. Do you know of any way to work around this problem?

I ran the network setup app and everything works fine on TMo US. MMS & Data. The settings pane (Settings > Cellular > Edit APN info) remains blank, but the settings are there.

I don't know if u still care or not, but u can flash the Mexico's latest ROM (telcel or smth), you won't have LTE, but you'll have everything else functional (mms and tethering included)! And you'll also lose the rogers splashscreen... yay
Has anyone tried the Country Variant Mexico MX Black LTE V1???

Yes, I have. I tried both this one and the TelCel rom. Both of them allowed me to finally use internet sharing and MMS. I'm pretty sure LTE works on both roms too it is just shown as 4G instead of LTE and when you are on HSPA it shows H instead of 4G like with the stock Rogers rom (and probably AT&T too). When tethered and showing 4G as the connection on my phone, I have gotten 1.5 MB/s down and about 800 KB/s up so I'm pretty sure that's an LTE connection. When I went to the cellular settings and changed it to only use 3G data, I get about 150 KB/s down and 80 KB/s up.
I have the Galaxy S3 on AT&T, after installing Android v 4.1.2 with MIUI version MIUI.us 3.1.11, I can no longer send / receive MMS (picture messages). I read somewhere on here to change my APN settings, the only one I saw to change was APN TYPE: default, supl, mms, hipri. Still not working ? Is there something else that needs to be changed / added / or deleted ??

Look for your carrier's APNs and make sure they matches the one you have. You should have one for LTE and one for MMS.

I have matched and kept my APN factory, and changed APN according to those found on this site and others. Still no luck ?? When I was on CM10.0, everythinmg worked fine, it has something to do with MIUI I'm guessing.

I'm not sure about MIUI but are you sending them while on data?
Figured it out... There are 3 APN settings, I deleted the 2 that were not being used. So the only one you should have is remaing is ATT LTE.

This was the answer for me as well. I believe I saw one for Cricket Wireless, A wap.cingular, and another APN that didn't sound like it was needed. After deleting them I got my MMS back.
Thanks.
I ported my Sprint Galaxy S3 over to ST with the BYOP program. Calling and texting are fine, I can even receive mms but I can't send out mms and there's no internet connection. I've been on the phone countless times with ST, they always tell me to update my profile and prl..... which is strange because my 3G signal pops up when updating but disappears when its done. Can anyone assist me with this issue? Do I have to update apn settings or something?

Those are for phones with SIM cards, my phone is a CDMA phone. Will it still work the same??
I wasn't directing you to the Sim card solution per say. I was thinking maybe, some of the other trouble shooting options might help you. Have you tried Updating the APN Settings ? You could try ##72786# , but I'm not sure if that will work on ST.

Yes through Odin. But even before I rooted my device and didn't change the APN..... the same thing happened.
Sounds to me that your APN is not set correctly. Have you double check it. They offer a guide on how your APN settings should be. I had to do that with my brothers AT&T GS3 and after I set the APN I had to call them back to give them the serial # of the Sim card for them to activate it and then restarted the phone and everything works.
Granted it was a GSM GS3 but jus trying to help.
Did you have it programed to Straight Talk or did you go to their website and have them to set it up?
Be now I noticed they offer CDMA service byop. I was thinking of trying that this Friday

This worked for me, my APN settings I changed was good... ST just had to update something on their end and I reactivated. My data is working, thank you.:good:
Edit: If you want this edit on the Oreo update (I just received it today) you must add the APN before updating. They have remove the button to add a new APN.
If it is added before you update it will stick!
I have only tested this on my sprint V30+ and am assuming it also works on the Sprint V30 and probably also the G6 but i cannot test them
also this should work on all the providers that require dun be active in the apn.
Even though the apns are locked(grayed out) and we cannot edit them they still allow us to add new ones.
so i tried adding an new apn with all the same settings as the default "internet" apn but adding in ,dun.
Worked Flawlessly! hotspot activated no hesitation.
Those of you who have other providers an wanna try you will need to get your default APN.
If your on sprint yours is probably the same as mine so you may skip to step #2.
Step #1
To view your current apn settings without your msl you open the dialer and type in ##debug# (##33284#) to open the hidden debug menu.
click on "Active APN Connections" and click on the default internet APN (Mine is titled "internet").
you can view all the settings but once again you cannot edit but right down your settings and then move on to step #2.
Step #2
now that you have your APN settings open settings and click More - Mobile networks - Access Point Names.
hit the 3 dot settings icon then hit add APN.
For Sprint only change the fallowing items leave everything else alone.
Name - hotspot (this can be anything you want)
APN - x.ispsn
Username - null
Password - null
APN type - default,mms,dun
APN protocol - IPv4/IPv6
others who decide to try this add all your settings in but like always add ",dun" to "APN type"
Now hit the 3dot menu again and save and thats it you should now see your new APN in the list of locked ones.
you do not have to do anything else in that menu just go turn on your hotspot and enjoy.
This method also holds through reboots.
Also...
Even though it is not grayed out you still cannot edit the new APN. if you make a mistake or just wanna make adjustments
you must hit Restore default settings in the 3dot menu and start all over again.
Edit
If Restore default settings does not show up in your menu after adding a new APN you can still reset them by typing ##scrtn# into your dialer an hit ok

I had the same issue when I first figured this out I was at work testing it with my buddies phone and it would connect but no internet seemed to go through but then I went to hotspot settings and changed it to 5 GHz and it worked fine I changed it back to 2.4 right after and it worked fine from then on even on his phone (I wanted mine in 2.4 GHz because my car does not support 5 GHz )

I bought mine outright but they won't unlock it. Sprint said it has to be on their network for 50 days before they will unlock it. How did you get yours unlocked? I'm calling back today 50 days is ridiculous..
question...does this work with T-Mobile to bypass the speed limitation for included HotSpot?

I am on the T-Mobile business plans. It does not seem to do anything for me.
Default APN: 20.45down/2.89up (Mbps)
DUN APN: 18.86/4.69
Do you want to test it and compare with my result?

I can't seem to connect to the ATT network, new sim didn't work so after a long talk with google CS they RMA'd me a new 3 XL, popped the sim in and I still can't connect to the ATT network! Manually switching from ATT NEXTGEN to WAP didn't work either. Everything is up to date, I cannot figure out what's going on. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!

You are positive the SIM is functional?
Have you tried changing APN settings?
I dont recall ATT APN settings I have been on ATT for many years.
But when I was I modified the settings to improve performance.
A google search should return results easily.

I suggest you take the phone into an AT&T location and have them provision a new SIM for you. Don't leave the store until you have a signal. Remind them this is the RMA unit not working after the first phone was returned. It's not the phone.
