Only one solution that I found is replacing digitizer
strange, a lot of things happen to me, but I didn't get the softbutton problem ( touch some wood).
I teardown my phone around 6 times, and I still have the original digitizer.
This phone is really fragile. Even the contact inside ( ear peace, 3.5mm plug, speaker, etc) are really weak. I had to put some dielectric grease to protect them and make them work ok.
I must say, the only reason why I'm still using this pos, is because I finally make it work , and there's not alot of device in the market with physical home button/sd card/removable battery/decent specVSprice.
The moment that phone let me down again >> oppo find 7

I bought a phone from mobiask...unfortunally this user **** me and my money, and send me a broken phone...
a broken why?! the phone first don't turn on, but I put other battery and that solve....second the phone as briket, I lost one day for found why and solve that...thrid the button volume up don't work and for finish I have weird probleme on scree
I made this video for someone can help me to solve that
the volume up is probably a broken switch inside the phone.
As for the screen, looks like the touch panel has been decently damaged. Either its been dropped or has water underneath the glass (I'm thinking water because its kind of random/splotchy).
Both the internal switch and the touch panel can be replaced, although they're not the most simple mods ever.
I think the key up, I can't repair, but i'm not sure about the screen because I don't know theres a probleme on digitalizer or on main screen
does it make calls? did u get ur money back?
no I didn't got money back =/
I'm still waiting for paypal complain
I don't test make calls, because this phone is a full crap
so when u put the new battery in, did it turn on? check and see if it makes calls, sends texts ,access internet

So from what I read is that the phone turns on but it is bricked and the up button does not work. What I seen in that some users have recovered they're brick by flashing the leaked gb update for the g2 (can't post link because I'm using the app) but since your + trigger is broken maybe you can still flash the official update by using adb. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Warning: Flashing the leaked gb ROM from tmobile will make you lose S-off and root. And at the time has not been rooted or S-off

Hello XDA ..
My G2 LCD stopped working for no reason .. It started flickering and losing colors two days ago .. and yesterday it went completely black .. I did not drop the phone or damage it anyhow ..
I opened it up and checked all connections and it looked fine .. the LED and digitizer screen work fine as well as the capacitive buttons at the bottom so I figured it is not a connection problem ..
I had Cyanegon on it for like 5 months and never had an issue .. I recently installed Virtious Sense ROM and I have been switching between the two the past week ..
My question is ,, do you think it is a software problem for example the lcd driver got messed ..?? or is it just the lcd was broken somehow
I am intending to buy a new lcd and replace the one I have now but I thought I should make sure that the one I currently have is actually broken before I replace it ..
Thank you,,
Edu
PS: if you can think of an easy way to check the functionality of the LCD let me know ..
Its rather hard for a software (even if it is firmware) to cause problems to an LCD. If you can se the backlight turning on but the screen not showing anything, i suggest you start trying out some unbricking methods.
Now, if the screen doesnt turn on AT ALL, then its possibly a hardware fault. The only way to be sure is to have an extra lcd available to connect to it. You could also try and give your lcd to someone with a Desire Z to try out your lcd on his phone and see what happens.
The "easiest" way though is to get a new one.
is the ribbon cable connecting the screen to keyboard damaged?

the backlight does not turn on at all .. so I guess you are right it should be a hardware issue

same happened to my phone
My dhd volume buttons stopped working a while ago (unless u press really hard). I ordered a new button and it arrived a month later, now even with the new button, they r not working .
Also pushing the buttons with a pencil tip (without the volume rocker) still doesn't make it respond easily...almost completely dead
What am I supposed to do to fix it? DIY possible? Any suggestions are much appreciated.
Thx.

Probably while replacing the buttons u might hv damaged the motherboard flex cable which holds the volume keys from inside. I think u might need to replace it sorry.

I had the same issue, but after numerous rom flashes and updates it started working again...
Same with my WIFI it stooped working after on OTA update and now it works even better than it did before again due to flashing numerous roms...
I guess some of the good stuff justs sticks, but beware also some of the bad, as my 3G will not work on Jellytime and Icecreame Sandwich so I'm trying to flash a radio from SABSA Rom and hoping it will work
Hello everyone, About 6 months ago I cracked my screen on my phone. I used it for about 3 months after that until the LCD went black. The phone still booted and I can hear notifications coming through, so I figured it was a hardware problem with the LCD. Today I replaced the LCD and it is still just a black screen, and I can hear it booting just fine. I would like to try to restore my phone to factory setting to see if that will help. How can I do so without using the LCD? Does anyone know what other problems this could be? I appreciate the help
It has a custom rom install, I am trying to remember what it is so I can post it on here. I think because its custom I will not be able to use KIES

If you can't even see a boot logo when you first turn it on, restoring factory rom won't help sadly. You have deeper hardware issues then you initially thought ( mainboard possibly or a bad new lcd ).

U can try putting the phone into dl mode by turning it off and holding vol+vol- while plugging it into PC, give it a second and press vol+ then open odin amd see if it connected, if it did flash stock rom with Odin, now just so u know this is a long shot as I doubt it'll help but worth a shot always

Hey Guys,
Few weeks ago i notice that the small row of my LG G3 D855 is not responding but after 1-2 hour its working fine & after 2days same problem & again it starts working but again same problem & now its over 3days that part of touch not working.
Anyone else having same issue?
Any solution?
Sounds like issue with the digitizer have u dissassembled the phone ever if so maybe loose connection but sounds like a digitizer shorting out
I never disassembled or never dropped the phone.
I will disconnect & then reconnect the digitizer lets see this works or not and thanks for reply.
Reconnected but still not working

Hello, I've been having a similar issue to yours, only my entire screen stopped responding to input. I have noticed that the screen responds if I press harder (almost to the point that the screen starts discoloring), but even then it is unreliable. My phone is the LG G3 D855, and I am currently using Euphoria ROM and TWRP. The screen doesn't respond in TWRP either.
Do you have any advice for me? Any help at all would be appreciated.
