hi, i am trying to put Rogers/Bell/Telus I747M ROM on ATT I747, but can't find any info or if anyone actually did this.
I tried http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1739426
but getting secure check failed sbl2 or sb12?
Can anyone help?
Its already been done lots of times over, I've got a bell phone on Virgin mobile with an at&t rom on it. You know instead of starting a new thread on this there is a search button for a reason....

Heres how to reset your custom binary flash counter :http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=ZesB1Op0VGk#!
Has anyone tried doing this? I want to know since Rogers 4.3 has a bootloader Img in it. Can I not use att 4.1.2 bootloader to downgrade and just use Rogers i317m to upgrade later? So I can reset knox

Knox can't be reset
Why would anyone intentionally want software with Knox? I flashed the 4.3 leak and was really pissed with that trash. I never owned a phone that told me 'No' about so many things.
Im asking if I unlock my bootloader make it a att instead of a i317m and then redo i317m 4.3

Hi I just unlocked the note 2 att version to work for t-mobile by downgrading to firmware 4.1.1. Now I can use the phone for t-mobile. I now want to root and have an updated t-mobile based custom rom installed.
To achieve this must I first odin flash t-mobile's official 4.1.3 (or 4.1.2) firmware and
then root and then install a t-mobile 4.1.3 (or 4.1.2) based custom rom?
Or can I simple root and just install a 4.1.3 (or 4.1.2) t-mobile custom rom?
Thanks!

you should be able to root 4.1.1 and I think you should be able to root it with the exynos abuse apk. if not cf auto root should handle it. then you can add recovery and flash any rom you wanted
I've done this too. I was wondering if international ROMs would work on the att note2 unlocked and on T-Mobile. I've searched around but I found it tough to get a strait answer. I will probably just try it and see but wanted to ask first.

Make sure you stick with your device's native modems. Don't try a T889 modem on an I317. You will be sad.

I've been reading and searching and reading for days, trying to get LTE working. I should have just waited and found a T-Mobile note2.

If not, stick with your I317 modems and follow the OP process.

I have read all of that thread. The only thing I have not tried from it was changing the imei to 0, which one or two people said worked. I'm beginning to think the guy that sim unlocked my note2 didn't do it correctly. If I Odin back to 4.1.1 will it allow me to unlock again?

If you can get any tmo service at all, it is unlocked. If you really want to try the unlock again, just flash a 4.1.1 modem appropriate for your device's model number. Don't flash modems across device models.
Are you certain you are in an area that has tmobile LTE service?
What baseband are you on?

Do I need both a tmo and att sim card to unlock?
Yes we have LTE. I've been able to connect to LTE with nexus 4, HTC one and note3.
I was on 4.1.2 modem and I flashed the newest one Monday.

I don't think you need both sims.
What specific baseband are you on?
Have you put *#2263# and checked to ensure you are in automatic. Have you tried to allow all LTE bands via the same menu?

hey i have an att note 2 and have tmobile service. the phone is unlocked, rooted and on 4.1.2?
what would be the best thing to do? im thinking getting the tmobile software/ROM. once i have that will it work lik a regular t mobile note, (like i will be
able to update OTA when 4.4 for t mobile's note 2 comes out?)
but i dont know how to. i have odin installed n thats all lol. do i need to change kernels? im a total noob on this stuff. help me please
i want to update to the newest tmobile stock firmware, cuz on the att one i cant even turn on my wifi, i hear the best thing to do to fix that problem is to update the firmware or factory reset it, which is only a temporary fix. n i cant update it because im on t mobiles network.
Yes you can flash T-Mobile Roms.

I'm coming from an HTC device which required both rooting and flashing an unlocked bootloader, so I'm a bit confused as to the ease as to which it seems this device can be rooted.
After digging though the forums, I have a few questions:
I'm seeing nothing in regards to unlocking the bootloader, so I'm assuming that's not an issue/anything important with this device?
I'm seeing root methods using both ODIN and Heimdall, and I'm at a loss (again, I'm coming from an HTC device) as to which is the best?
What I'm looking to do is have a fully open device (flash any ROM, kernel, radio, etc. I'd like); I understand Samsung has a flash counter (KNOX, I believe), and I'm fine with that (as long as it doesn't lock me out at some point ... does it?); and I'm not sure which method would give me that.

You can root/unroot this device with ease. I believe the only gs4 with locked a bootloader are the Verizon and sprint variants. I could be wrong. But I think those are the 2 carriers that lock you out of your phone. Anyway there's very little chance of you getting locked out of your phone unless you flash the wrong files. Odin is definitely the best way to go for Samsung devices. I've been using it since the vibrant came out.

When you root your phone and start flashing ROMs, KNOX will be tripped to 0x1 but that will just void the warranty. And I just found out a week ago that Samsung says they will still honor their warranty even if KNOX is tripped.
ODIN would be your best bet. I haven't even heard of Heimdall.

Awesome, thanks ... I see you're on T-Mo as well; I was just going to stick with CyanogenMod but, any ROMs you recommend for the T-Mo variant? I prefer a pretty clean interface (eg. no TouchWiz), with little "bling".

Having KNOX doesn't mean the bootloader is locked. The M919 on 4.3 and above has KNOX implemented but the bootloader is still unlocked regardless of what baseband version you're on. Literally the only functional difference is that pre-MK2 firmware you can't trip the KNOX counter as it hadn't yet been implemented..

I've seen a lot of people mention that ROM, I'll definitely take a look once I get my device up and running (damn T-Mo store gave me a SIM card that had already been activated so I have a fancy paperweight until they can release the number so that I can activate it).
Out of curiosity, this the root method you'd recommend (I have a M919UVUEMK2 baseband)? Also, is there a way to flash CWM via ODIN? I'd rather not have to set my device up in order to install ROM Manager just to flash a recovery (I'm basically wanting to root, flash CWM, make a full backup, and then wipe and install a ROM).

Yes that will work. I recommend TWRP recovery. It works very well on our device. Here is the CWM Odin flasable .tar the download link is in post #24. If you like to give twrp a try just let me know. Also if you wanna try Insane KitKat let me know. I'm very familiar with it.

Awesome, thanks ... I vaguely remember TWRP from when it first came out but, it never made it to my old device; I'm probably going to go with CWM for the time being as I'm more familiar with it and I'm already a bit over my head trying to figure out the Samsung way of doing things. Really though, I'm hoping MadMaxx hurries up and releases his updated 4ext which is supposed to support this device.

Hey, sorry to bug you again but, since we're using the same device, on the same network, think you could answer this question for me (there doesn't seem to be a lot of traffic on that thread these days, and I'd rather not start my own thread with the same question).
I recently bought a samsung galaxy s3 sgh i747 it is an at&t phone and i need to sim unlock it so that i can use my metro pcs sim card on it, ive tried everything, and looked everywhere! someone please help!!!!!!
Unless the phone is on stock 4.1.1, you can't unlock via the hidden dialer menu. That being said, if you are on 4.3 or above, you can not downgrade to above version or have a brick. What version do you have?
Its been verified on the T999 that chainfires RegionLock Away app does work. If on 4.3 or above, give it a try and let us know. if it doesn't work youll have to get a code from the original carrier or buy one online.
