I've been trying to find a good wallpaper instead of the ones provided with no luck. The thing is after the wallpaper being cropped, the resolution will degrade so much.
Is there any special apps or web for installing good wallpaper?
Thanks

I use one called "Tablet Wallpapers"in the market., not a
Perfect app and it doesn't crop that well automatically but most wallpapers have great resolution

Thanks for the info

Wallbase is pretty sweet, so is stumblr. If you use wallpaper wazardi to set wallpapers all is awesome, as you can portrait or scroll with it.

You can try "Auto resize/Dbd Wallpaper Set" from the market.
Any picture can be set as a full screen wallpaper (without crop or black bars).

I used Tablet Wallpapers a little bit, it's troublesome in the way that it pushes ads through notifications (or it did a couple weeks ago, I'm not going back to that).
Not an app, but the website www.interfacelift.com has wonderful photos that can be used in high res and cropped as you like.
Has anyone experienced the phenomenon shown in the two images below?
- My phone is unlocked and rooted.
- I am running LiquidSmooth v1.35
- I am also running Franco Milestone 3 kernel
It seems wallpapers will not behave correctly when my phone is in landscape mode. Anybody have some ideas?
I have tried "Wallpaper Wizardrii" which hasn't worked. This happens with both the stock launcher and the Apex launcher.
what is the resolution of the wallpaper?
That particular one is 1280x800. I set the wallpaper, just now, using the gallery "set as" function but while in landscape mode and it has eliminated the black bands on either side. However the transition from portrait to landscape is ugly (the wallpaper jumps around a bit before settling).
I don't remember it being like this in the past. If anyone has any fixes, they would be much appreciated.
Thanks.
I thought the last thing I did fixed it... but a few rotations later it was back to misaligned.
Same thing happens here on stock rom rooted using apex.

Try using Quick Pic to set the wallpaper.

Unfortunately wizard or quickpic didn't work for me either.
Edit;
I was going to suggest maybe its some kind of resolution issue but this happens even using the stock provided wall papers and built in wall paper wall paper picker app.

I hate the new ICS wallpaper implementation. Especially, because I always turn off the "Scrolling Wallpaper" option. And I always have to crop my wallpapers to make them fit my screen :X
So this is ICS bug not launcher?

I'm pretty certain that landscape mode isn't supported by the stock ICS launcher, is it?

I dont think it does.
OP, i do not have this issue.
at the time of reading this, i had a wallpaper set to not scroll, and i enabled horizontal lock screen. i had the issue you were talking about.
once i enabled scrolling wallpaper, and reset the wallpaper (same one) i had full screen wallpaper on the hoizontal lock screen.
seems to be an issue with scrolling wallpapers, which also isn't an option to disable on the stock launcher.

Yeah your right forgot about that. Still though, I'm sure older versions of apex displayed the wall paper right in landscape, only since the recent betas it started playing up.

I'm pretty sure the stock launcher supports landscape mode. It happens when you choose Settings > Display > Auto-rotate screen.
Update: I just switched back the the stock launcher and it does auto-rotate AND has the glitch.

Stock rom stock launcher won't auto rotate for me. I'm sure the stock launcher actually supports it but stock rom doesn't and requires tablet mode or something for it to be landscape. I'm sure this is why people started switching to 3rd party launchers to use landscape mode.
Are you on stock rom?

Do share if you find anything more out.

Hi All,
can anyone advise on how (if possible) to get the Sense interface to rotate to landscape mode, this happened to mine yesterday following a weird bit of behaviour when Dolphin browser crashed, despite the weird little hiccup I was very very happy with the end result (perfect landscape sense) but as of today less than 24hours later back to standard portrait mode
any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
I think this might do the trick: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.devasque.rotationlocker&hl=en
Also, there might be other similar apps on Play, so browse around a bit. Otherwise, some custom ROMs also offer this feature.
Thanks for the quick response a704e unfortunately Sense keeps forcing a return to portrait for these types of application, looks like a trip to custom ROM land.........

Nope. It is also made for keyboard phones.
Sorry, I assumed were talking about the One X and sense 4.

I always believed that the Sense Rosie didn't allow Homescreen rotation.
It'll only get activated when in dock mode.
If you want to have a Landscape Homescreen I suggest a custom Rom or a different launcher, Apex launcher works well.
I've made a dock of that box from One X, and it looks perfectly with landscape Sense. I will make a photo how it does look. But later.

Need app called ultimate rotation control, perfect for rotating
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
I think that only changing the code of Rosie launcher may help. ROM's land ))) I did change it and it works great, except People widget, it doesnt have enough room in landscape mode to show all contacts.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.googlecode.eyesfree.setorientation
This works perfectly but annoyingly leaves a notification in the status bar when it is running.
Does the lockscreen too.

We all know that by default you can activate the rotation of the screen but the main desktop and the App Drawer won't do that. So in few words what's your solution?
Leave it as stock
Use the True Tablet UI Patch
Use a launcher
Use TTUI Patch + Launcher
ParanoidAndroid Rom
Really curious to know what you have done!
I use nova launcher.

Without changing the pixel density?
Holo Launcher seems to do the trick you are looking for. Matter of fact, most of the third party launchers would let you do landscape desktop and app drawer.
I use nova launcher , but if u want a stock launcher with rotation Modaco launcher it's a good choise!!!

Looking at these posts looks like no one used the "True Tablet UI Patch" or the stock launcher....
force_enable_rotation=true @local.prop
stock launcher.

yup. the thread title's "Rotate topic", not true tablet UI. for tablet UI, u change it the DPI to 160. but i dont like that. too small screen.
but yeah, this doesn't rotate the lock screen though. not that i can't swipe up/down instead of left/right.......

Actually the topic is "your solution for..." the rotate topic So checking answers looks like most of the people just use another laucher.
But the one you posted in few words is for what? I mean for the way I read your answer this doesn't make anything different than the "rotate" funcion in the notification bar. Or it also allows to rotate the main desktop and the app drawer?

Actually, the funny thing is I have added this mod. It doesn't rotate the time on the lock screen but you still swipe to the right to unlock ... (toward bottom if you were in portrait mode)...no dpi changes or any other mods needed. I'm on rooted, unlocked stock ROM.
What I really wanna know is where I can mod the home screen to scroll continuously...I haven't looked yet. I have the setting on my phone, but haven't played with the N7 enough to find it yet.
I use Apex. Paid for the Pro version of it, over Nova, since Apex offered... less features for the Pro version (in other words, Nova had a lot of stuff in Pro that was non-existent in the free, and I don't like feeling like I "have" to pay in order to use an app efficiently...)
I used launcher.force_enable_rotation=true inside a new local.prop file in /data. I always use portrait mode and a pin in the lock screen, so portrait only in lock screen is fine by me.
My biggest issue was when in landscape, if I went back into home I would have to rotate from landscape to portrait, then back into landscape and if I pressed a button by mistake again, back into portrait.
I tried the change build.prop dpi settings but didn't like tablet UI for this little thing..... and I don't want to squint.
Tried ultimate rotation control which works great, it also rotates the lockscreen, but costs something like £2 after a 7 trial vs what I use now.

So you paid for less features in general out of principal?
Or did Apex have more free features compared to Nova, and the Pro versions equalled things out on both sides?

Yes, sorry for not being clear. That tweak to local.prop is to rotate the main desktop and app drawer, just not the lock screen.
The GUI dpi change tweak it's for a complete tablet ui

another launcher (because the default one doesn't have enough features for my taste anyway)
I don't know why some of your options are listed, like paranoidandroid rom, wtf.
Most custom roms include a landscape launcher. This shouldn't be that complicated. The stock launcher simply doesn't do landscape without tweaks. If you run stock, just download Nova or Apex.
I run EOS and its built in tablet mode with Apex.

apex launcher, tablet mode at 160dpi :good:
IMHO apex (free) is the best
Thinking about getting the G3 once I get a upgrade but has anyone changed there dpi to something smaller. Do all the apps work? Does anything crash? What dpi setting right now...

I used Rom toolbox once I was rooted and changed mine to 600. No crashes at all and I tested a bunch of apps.

560 here. The stock value just seemed oddly proportioned. Ya got 5.5 inches, use em!
But I also use Xposed App Settings to assign dpi on a per-app basis.
540 here.
530 master race
Also using 530 here without any problems.

Xposed / App Settings has no option to put the Smart Notice stuff back at 640dpi?
Nope doesn't fix it.... The LG weather widget fits perfect with 530 .... The smart notice doesn't
After change the resolution to full hd and 530 dpi i can't fix the doc icons, any help please.trying with app settings on xposed
Changing the DPI messes up the QuickCircle case display. Im using ART so xposed is no go to change it.
