Google Play Help - Sprint LG G2

I have a couple of issues regarding Google Play. If you know how to fix any of them offer your opinion.
1. Privacy: I can see my contacts (from gmail) recent downloads and ratings in the app store and I do not want them to see mine.
2. Downgrade: I do not like the Play Store update. Everytime I uninstall Play Store updates from the settings, the Play store updates itself within minutes. How do I prevent Play store from updating itself.
3. Google Settings. When I go to google settings > connected apps > disconnect app. I receive an error stating "cannot disconnect app"

For #2 Try to find the Gapps.apk for the version you want.

[Q] Can I stop apps from updating?

I've blocked all the bloat that you possibly can but I also don't want apps updating without my permission. Is there any way to do that without root?
For Google Play apps simply go into Google Play Store settings and turn off auto-update. Same thing for Galaxy Apps: settings --> turn off auto-update.
There will still be notifications indicating updated apps are available but you can choose which and when to install them.

[Q] Snapchat for Fire OS 4.6.1

I recently sideloaded 4.6.1 for Fire Phone and got the necessary files for Snapchat, yet when I try to sign it, it does not sign in. It does not even load, the circle spins for infinity.
On the previous public OS, I had snapchat, but kept getting the Google Play services has stopped message, which is why I updated my phone. The message no longer appears, but I can't sign into Snapchat.
I updated my phone as of yesterday. Help??
Is there a reason you want the play store version as opposed to the amazon app store version? Some apps that are offered on both seem to misbehave unless you choose the amazon one.

Since I have noticed the same, that some apps that are offered on both stores seems to misbehave unless you choose the amazon one, I think that is preferable to install the APPs from the Amazon APP Store...
However, I also have noticed that almost all the APPs updates first on the Google-Play-Store!
The app should update via the store it was downloaded from, amazon updates are specific for the amazon environment.

Snapchat is not available on the Amazon App Store.
Can anyone offer some advice??
I don't mean to be rude or anything, but can someone please respond? Is anyone else having this issue?
Sorry for triple post, but I noticed the update on the play store makes the play store have a white screen? I kind of doubt it's connected to the snapchat issue
There's a bunch of threads about this issue already. There is a problem with the Google Play Service. Snapchat uses the Google Play Service so that's why it stopped working.
You can get Snapchat to temporary work by doing something like this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=60266619&postcount=21
But it won't stay working forever since your Google Play Service will keep trying to update to the bugged one.
But I won't be able to even sign in because of the message "You need Google Play Services" will pop but, not allowing me to close it. Also, note that I am on 4.6.1, while that is a fix for 3.6.8
Has this been confirmed by anyone who's tried to use Snapchat?

Yes. I also have the same problem. I am also on 4.6.1.
I will say it again. There is a bug with Google Play Service right now. There's a bunch of threads about this right now. Snapchat only works if you are able to get an old version of Google Play Service with an old version of Google Play Store on your phone. There is some tricks to get your Google Play Service to not update which is mentioned in the other threads. If you have a white screen or the "You need Google Play Services" notice popping up, that means you have the latest version of Google Play Service which has the bug. It will not work on your phone until Google fixes this problem.
My apologies I could have sworn I saw that on there

Got SnapChat working on 4.6.1 OS
Okay, I have no clue why what I did made everything work, but it did. I got SnapChat, YouTube, Hangouts, everything working on 4.6.1. I'll explain everything I did since I have no clue what exactly made it work, but I'll explain everything up to when it started to work.
1. First you'll need to download an app in the appstore called "Advanced Permissions Manager".
2. You wanna download the usual Account Manager > then Google Play Services 7.0.99 > then Google Services Framework > then Google Play Store 5.4.12.
3. As soon as you sign into Google Play Store, you wanna go into settings and turn off "App Installation" so the Google Services doesn't update.
4. Go on the app you downloaded in step one called "Advanced Permissions Manager", then go to All Apps > SnapChat > then uncheck "find accounts on the device" (located under "Your accounts").
5. Push Save & Re-Install. (May need to hit uninstall and install again on the window that might pop up, if nothing pops up then ignore these parenthesis.)
6. Hold the power button for about 5 seconds and hit restart.
7. Once you load back up and try SnapChat, it shouldn't ask you to update Google Services and will let you sign in as usual.
***I seen that doing this broke Google Play Store, but that's the only thing different I've noticed. You can always download 1mobile and get the apps you need afterwards off of there I'd assume.

I did everything you said, now when I go to log into Snapchat, it closes itself... better than infinite loading I suppose.

Google play services crashing due to Google fit

I've had this issue since the 2nd or 3rd dp. Google play services would force close out of nowhere. Then i would go into settings and see that my account backup is not enabled. It's grayed out and I can't pick the google account. The only way to get it back to show up is when I clear the cache and data of google play services and reboot the phone. However it would start crashing again and I would have to pair my watch again (moto 360 and lg g watch r). So yesterday I tried to figure out the culprit and it was google fit. When I uninstalled it everything is fine and when I reinstalled it all hell break loose. I was just wondering if anyone else having this issue?

I did try it and it still crashes
I had the same problem with Fit on my pixel. Here's what Google support sent me...
I recommend trying these basic troubleshooting steps:
Connect to a strong internet connection to access and download from the Play Store:
Try switching your internet connection to another Wi-Fi/cellular network. Also try accessing your network from a different location. Check if your signal strength improves and if you can browse web sites.
Force your device to check in to Google servers to gain full access to the Play Store:
Go to Phone > Dialpad (10 dot icon) and dial *#*#CHECKIN#*#* (*#*#2432546#*#*). Do not start the call. The numbers you entered should disappear.
Within 2 minutes, you should receive a "checkin successful" notification.
If this doesn't work, you can also force a check in by manually changing the date and time:
Go to Settings > Date & time.
If you see any of the following menu items, turn them off:
Automatic date & time
Automatic time zone
Tap Set date and Set time and manually change the date and time so they're incorrect.
Tap Home (the circle at the bottom of your screen) and repeat steps 1-2.
Turn Automatic date & time and Automatic time zone back on.
Reboot your device:
Press and hold the power button and tap “Power off” when it appears.
Once the phone powers off, press and hold the power button until the device powers on.
If the issue persists, remove and re-add your Google account:
Note: This may delete settings and un-synced in-app content. However, your purchases and synced data (Gmail, Google contacts, etc.) are tied to your account and will be available after re-adding your account. Make sure you remember your account password because you'll need to log back in after re-adding your account.
Remove your account:
Go to Settings > Accounts > Google and tap the name of the account you wish to remove.
Tap More (three vertical dots) and Remove account. Tap Remove account again to confirm account removal.
Add your account back to your device:
Go to Settings > Accounts > Add Account.
Select Google and enter your account information.
If the issue persists, clear the cache and data of the Play Store app:
Navigate to Settings > Apps > Google Play Store > Storage.
Tap Clear data > OK.
Tap Clear cache.
Note: this may reset Play Store settings. After clearing cache and data of the Play Store app, double check your settings: open Play Store > Menu (3 horizontal bars) > Settings.
If the issue persists, uninstall and reinstall Play Store app updates:
Go to Settings > Apps > Google Play Store.
Tap More (3 vertical dots) > Uninstall updates > OK.
Launch the Google Play store app, then tap Home (circle icon at the bottom of the screen).
Wait 5-10 minutes for the app to self-update and relaunch Google Play.
You can also try our online troubleshooter."
Automatic Force Checking in to Google servers is what worked for me. Hope it works for you too.
Good luck
google fit doesnt work on unoffcial rom
official lineage works fine
it says fit is having trouble with play services

Error retrieving information from server df-dferh-01

Anyone else getting this in Google play? I've cleared everything readded my Google account still can't figure it out. Running 8.1 fully stock
Same here... so freaking annoying. Pixel 2 XL running 8.1 stock.
Edit:
I was able to fix this by Uninstalling Updates for Google Play. Go to Settings > Apps and notifications > Google Play Store > '...' menu > Uninstall Updates
Hope that works for you, too!
Yes, but the updates are installed immediately and the problem comes back. I even wiped the phone by installing the latest images - the problem is still there.
It's very strange indeed - it happens with some searches and not others e.g. when I type 'tower defense' the error occurs but when typing 'tower defense games' and a little icon appears in front of the suggestion the error does not occur. Can anyone replicate the error?
Same thing happening here when updating Google Play Store from 7.0.17 to 8.5.39. Uninstall Google Play Store updates, then turn off auto updating.
To turn updates on or off, follow these steps:
Open Google Play Store.
Tap the hamburger icon (three horizontal lines) on the top-left.
Tap Settings.
Tap Auto-update apps.
To disable automatic app updates, select Do not auto-update apps.

Question Google Contacts and Maps not working - China Import

Hello,
I have imported this phone from China, and besides the CN bloatware, I cannot get Google Contacts and Google Maps (and Maps Go) work. Contacts does not sync any contacts, and Maps crashes on app start. The phone is fully updated and rebooted.
Originally the China version comes without Google Play and its required subsystem, so I wonder if I can update Google Play manually to hopefully fix all issues .. ? The seller, a big online exporter, installed Google Play before shipping.
Many thanks,
Pummelchen
hi
i'm going to buy this phone i'm from italy. actually i ve mi 10s with their incredible speakers( i'm going to put eu rom for that)
before buy i'm worried some google apps don't work, how can i add languages, whatsapp notification only when wake up? lots of thing
can you help me to decide because of that. some video shows playstore is installable even on joy ui 12.5 that block google services
thanks
The hardware part is incredible, as it's the fastest Android phone as of 2021-04.
The Google Services install app has been removed from the Xiaomi store, which sux.
Some sellers put the Google Play store on the phone to ease customer experience, but it's a buggy experience. For me, Google Maps did not load and Google Contacts does not sync my GMail contacts.
Currently I follow this guideline to install Google Services manually. Its a bit of a "hacking experience" to get this phone working ..
I'm sharing my experience with you as the "Google Map" crashed at launch & GPS doesn't location with me earlier. In the end, I made them both work. I found that the "Gmail account" at Google Map cause the crash at the launch.
To avoid Google Map crash at launch::-
1) Turn off your wireless/mobile data > Access Google map offline
2) Go to setting > Sign-out from your account > close the app > Go to app info & clear data
3) Turn on your wireless/mobile data > re-open Google Maps online.
BK4pro "Network location" apk came without permission privileges, so you must download another one to control GPS location with permission in order to run Google Map/Sygic/Duo ... GPS relevant apps:
1) Install "Network location" v1.0.0.apk by "Google LLC"
2) Give permission as described in the picture attachment. (optional step)
Hope it works for you!!
