I followed the instructions from the article: [HOWTO] Easy Root Instructions (Sprint or T-Mobile) [Updated 24 June 2012]
Everything went fine but... when I opened busybox I got a message that there was a problem opening a shell with root access. This is either being caused by superuser/supersu or by a device that is inproperly rooted. I opened the superuser app and updated the the su binary v3.0.3.2. The update was successful but the it could not gain root access. I used the root checker app and it shows su found but no root access. Do you have any suggestions? I appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks

i had similar issue with you. The best and easiest way is to install a pre-rooted ROM.
Then u don't have to do extra work.

Look in the dev section for Root66 root method. It is probably the easiest way to get root. Just download the proper ROM and use ODIN to flash it and then you will be rooted.
okay so I used towelroot, which said it gave me root access, but when ever I go to twrp app to flash the recovery.
never prompts me for root access.
I try and use the app anyways, and it just force closes.
so i tried using just in general anot root app, but nothing works..
so im wondering if I did something wrong or if there is another root method I should be using.
Thanks so much!
build number: FNC1
Download and run Root Checker Basic. It will confirm or deny root. I also install SuperSU which manages app access to root level activities. Give it a try!
Make sure you installed SuperSU and installed the binary

I have been through pure hell trying to root this thing, every time I install TWRP or CWM, I reboot and verify root and check SuperSU. Device is not properly rooted and SU says no binary is installed. Then another Root checker app says congrats on gaining root access and SU is installed and busybox is installed. Please tell me whats right. Thanks
i have flashed the "cm-12.1-20151112-UNOFFICIAL-n7100" on my Note 2. After that i lost my root access.
I also tried the Developer > root access> app n ADB , but still root checker says root not properly installed and Titanium backup says could not acquire root privileges.
Please help me to fix this.
I just rooted my NEXUS 7 and want to install some apps that not allowed root. I know that Magisk manager can do this. But after download and granted root acces it stuck on logo... Cant open this app.
