I am trying to S-OFF my M8 in order to be able to update the firmware and install a customized ROM of 4.4.4. I have unlocked my bootloader and rooted the device, but now since firewater is dis-continued yet I have tried it but hanged giving me the following:

What other alternative I have to S-Off and upgrade my firmware? I have 1.54.708 firmware, HTC_622

did you read the firewater thread ? it is mentioning sunshine many times. its the way to go and also the ONLY way at this moment.
Yep... Sunshine is the only way to go. It is incredibly easy to use, just install it and let it do its thing.
Done Sunshine... worked amazingly, worth the money.
however after S-offing, I cannot see the sunshine app anymore. Does it mean if "for any reason" if I need to S-off again, I will have to buy the service again ?

i have htc one m8 and when i first got it i rooted it, bootloader unlocked and got s-off . but now i got 4.4.3 update which i couldnt install so i tried relocking bootloader which didnt work then i got s-on and now i unlocked bootloader again but cant get s=off tried every method lots of time.
i tried flashing firmwares and some official stock roms which always failed, but this one 4.4.3 odexed rom by mikee1986 (something like that) worked, the problem is thats the european rom while my m8 is from india and the new update would get support for lte and more and now im stuck with european rom..(when i boot my phone im stuck with white htc logo and have to press power button repeatedly to get the phone to work)
btw i still have cwm recovery and unlocked bootloader and rooted but s-on .. plz someone help me

I'm attempting to install ARHD but wifi isn't working due to not updating my firmware. So I found the firmware on their website and attempted to install it (relock bootloader as I'm S-ON) but I got an error (41 model id check fail). Searched up about it and found that the best thing to do was to go S-OFF. I don't mind using sunshine to do it, but what do I do after I preform the S-OFF? Someone said something about changing CID but I don't know much about that.

Dear Users,
today i decided to go back on stock, because my HTC One M8 Volume Buttons got crazy. Sometimes it get loader or silent. In Bootloader its very difficult to get the task i want to do.
It's my first time that i have to do that, and my very first time that i got a problem. My HTC is rooted and the bootloader is unlocked. I tried to get S-OFF so i can change the flag in the Bootloader to LOCKED. (At this time there are these flags: ***Software status: Modified*** ***UNLOCKED***)
Firewater could open the first bottle, but then it told me that I done an OTA and i couldn't do that. So I read that i have to flash an older Kernel. Now I have to commit that I really don't know which one to use. Or is it enough when i flash the RUU and relock the bootloader?

Are you on 4.4? If so you need to update your bootloader to 4.16.401.9

Hi,
I was trying to flash my HTC ONE M8s but was unsuccessful. I wasn't aware that only a certain ROM could be used.
I am not exactly sure what I did but even the recovery partition is gone. Anytime I try to go into recovery or boot the phone it just goes to the htc logo screen. I have tried to flash a new recovery (TWRP) and (CWM). Fastboot tells me it has gone across ok but when I try to boot into recovery again I just get the htc logo screen.
I have tried to use ADB but it will not pick up my device. I don't think I enabled developer mode correctly before I started fooling around with the phone.
I unlocked the bootloader but still have S-ON. I have tried using RUU file for my model id but still nothing.
Is there any tools out there that I can use to totally wipe the phone clear and start fresh without having to send it back to HTC.
The reason I tried to flash it in the first place was that my camera stopped working after the update for Marshmallow came out. I asked HTC about it and they just wanted me to send it to them.
Their support is not very good!!!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
