less xbmc, video add on stream links? - Fire TV Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys. My first thread for aome questions.
On xbmc. When on genesis or any other video add on plug in.
Is there a way to make less links available? I mean i usually use one of the first 5 links...why the need for 40 or 132 links for an episode? I get the add on name followed by where its hosted and quality but damn 132 links takes a while for the stick to locate them when its sol many.
Say we jus wanted 10 or 15 or even 20
Ia there a way to show only a certain kind or only certain hosts that work well for us?

Basic Questions needing answers

Good day,
sorry if this is already out but i cannot find it so forgive me.
Question
1) is there anyway to add a facebook(or any website i.e. my own) link on the PROGRAMS page? So i can just one push and go str8 there?
2) I see so many talking about IGo and tom tom and so on, are they available some place on here i cannot locate or is there a site i have to go to for purchase? I see some who have them BOTH and seems odd that one would pay for all of that when google maps is free so i just wondered.
3) Is Coreplayer free or purchase only
4) Why is my youtube video so crappy 90% of the time? I hate trying to show off to the Iphone fantards and my vid quality is for crap
5) Has anyone found a program that actually WORKS for the front facing camera? I know Camfrog didnt, Skype didnt and the list goes on and on.
Thanks for any answers you may have, i know they are basic and simple but i am overwhelmed with this site at times and seeing as how its 4am i need to stop playing with cabs and call it a night.
Thanks again
I'm sure there's an answer to each of ur questions, if u just would use the search function.
I have tried that but seems easier to just ask vs sorting through 68 pages of posts just to get an answer, its rather time consuming to say the least.

[INFO] XDA File Server for DEV's and users!

Hi,
On the 14th of March i started a new project called XDA File Server. The purpose of the site is to host files for Dev's and give users a nice spot where they can find them. And so far it's been busy! 1,7TB has been uploaded allready and 11000+ vistors and more then 11000 files served!
The server it self runs on a 100mbit optic fiber line and should provide a decent speed to most people.
On the moment you'll find ROMS for the asus transformer, lg optimus 2x and xperia s (orginal firmware on the moment), i'm still expanding but it takes time and money! Hope you guys/girls like it !
the url: http://www.xdafileserver.nl
You can also follow me on xdafileserver on twitter.

*bump*
I'm still working on a easy and clean design so dont panic when you see one design first and a few seconds or minutes an other one, the downloads will go on.
Some stats so far:
almost 1000 unique vistors in only 3 days! 190GB downloaded so that's nice too. If any other dev's need xs let me know. I'll add some stock roms as well by gee one for restoring
Stock recovery might be a good addition as well.

Thanks for the tip
I'll find a good version and add it
Actually now that i think about it a good selection of tools like nvflash, adb, nachoroot, vipermod, drivers, superwipe, CWM 3.something and 5.something, Rogue recovery, other stuff that might be useful. Sort of like a one stop shopping kinda place.
This is such an awesome gesture. Thank you!
Another suggestion: Maybe you can have some pages (or the main pages) on your site link through coralcdn.org by appending .nyud.net to the domain part of your URL. By doing this, for public content, HTTP requests are automatically redirected through a custom peer-to-peer network using DNS and distributed amongst a huge number of caching proxies, reducing the load on the original server as well as bringing content closer (network topologically) to the requester.
Note: I am not connected to coralcdn.org in any way.

Good idea! I'll msg most of these dev's if they are ok with the mirror ( think they are but it's nice to do). And i'll make a folder for these things.
I'm still working on the site to make it as fast as possible for users that are on the other side of the world, but it's not going to be routed trough any dns service of anykind it's on a 100mbit fiber line it should be fast enough and it should support proper download managers (so you could resume).
I'll show some stats from this week later on
I'm in indonesia if that's far enough away for ya. Sometimes it drops out but that's at my end and it still maxes out my 3g.

Ok i've added some other developers roms to the server and i've registerd a new url for it you can now bookmark
http://www.xdafileserver.nl for all your roms!
If you are a dev or know one that needs a place to host their roms let them contact me and i'll see what i can do.
@Moderator Is it possible to sticky this topic? makes it much easier for me to keep people informed!
Ugg getting annoyed tried 15 times to download mar 27 cm9.
Keeps saying file is finished at like 15 megs.
Is there anything going on or is it just me?
edit: seems my 3g doesnt like your server. On a landline it seems to be working well.
Nopes it's running on full speed on the moment. But i'm going to change setup soon so perhaps that will fix it for you
oh and for those on 3g try: THIS and let me know of that works
Moving to a more appropriate place
I find your project very useful.
Do you consider including other devices as well?
Hi
Yes that's the general idea indeed. But i'm starting up slowly with some dev's and adding more while to goes on. First wanna see how much data this is gonna take .
A member of team xperia is uploading some files and is gonna use it for the 2011 range (and the comming 2012) after that i'll find and ask a galaxy 2 dev if he want's to mirror/host the files on my server
Just a note that the word 'you' on the website's main banner should read 'your'. As if you don't have enough to do.
Thanks for your work and such a cool idea for a Site.

Ok thanks
haven't checked the text yet and gonna rewrite it soon. I'm working on an different site (same layout) but more options!

Oh if you want a laugh at my total noobynoob-stupidity check out the other one in that folder.( its bios/post and red dwarf based.. )
Edit: Ah decided to upload the video for the silly one.

You might want to put the last picture of the bios in to the part1 folder and have it loop 90 or so times, so people can enjoy the bios look. Also, you may want to drop the framerate down to about 22 or 20, because I think you may have put it to 30 and thats why its just speeding right through it. I can't really tell at the moment because I can't download it, you need to put the direct download link not just the link to your file folder, which isn't the best idea if you start to use mediafire to store some of your not so public files.

Thanks for your advice. I will check it out when I can. I am having some problems with the nexus7 at the moment. It starts controlling itself at random
I might join another storage site to share these....
EDIT: I can not work on them again because I sold the nexus. It had a fault on the screen. I paid £70 and managed to get £80 for it so am happy with that at least. But I will upload them some place else if they are wanted...

Most curious.... *.wvm file

Realize the two files I have are the promotional "Hunger Games" movies offered to Tab S buyer. Have located them on my exSDcard. Now, curious to convert to be viewed on a player such as VLC, etc.
Anyone have success at this for offline at-one's-pleasure viewing?
Thanks

Well...i've decided to join and want to say that I second this question.
I've been looking all around the web, basically everywhere on how to play
a locally downloaded wvm file on a computer or how to decypt/remove the drm
of one but to no prevail...have found nothing on it.
If you're wondering, I have a bunch of .wvm files that I downloaded some months ago
this year that I discovered on a foreign site. These .wvm files are an interesting bunch and
I couldn't figure out a way to play them/decrypt them.
I have however found the samsung ffmpeg files that I heard contains some sort of widevine
support however I'm at a fault of compiling/making it even work and stuck on it.
You can find that samsung ffmpeg by searching "samsung ffmpeg widevine" btw. =)
But I still been looking around and i'm starting to get nowhere after looking for months on end.
Indeed...and finding this thread and looking at some other threads on this site, I decided to join and
ask y'all the same question as skeeterpro asked...
Is there a way to either playback or remove the widevine drm of a .wvm file?
Any info is much appreciated and if you can't provide answers for reasons, I understand...
I'll be checking this thread once in a while, keeping an eye on any replies thus far.
Thanks for reading and i'll see y'all around.

Anyone know how this XBMC is setup...very cool

Hi,
So Im trying to imitate this guys setup, which apparently not only has links to external source such as high quality movie releases, its nicely presented where you highlight the movie and it shows as a directory tree with a thumbnail popping up for each movie in the lower left corner. Im assuming he has programed this with AEON skin, that much i've gathered, but i'd like to know how he gets it to change with each movie or tv show its pointing to...the video is long approx 49 minutes. Im not looking to imitate him to sell these units, i'd just like to streamline and set mine up like this...any input would be appreciated....

Legolas2 can you expand what is Lowlist, I cant find anything on it....guys...no one knows how this guy has his unit setup?...there has to be a way to have it categorized so nicely where you scroll over the label and see a nice thumbnail on it and its in sort order of the best movies ect..from that site? Im assuming its some sort of site scraper? Lets use the example at the 2:50 mark in the video skymovies premiere and catagorizes the genres and underneath it shows the title and the thumbnails change..and if you go up one level it shows Boxoffice, views, popular, added, trending, channels and then if you click on them it shows the names of the movies, with the backgrounds changing to a scene in the movie, each one different. Im sure someone knows how this is setup...if its Lowlist can anyone point me in the right direction, with maybe a how to guide? thanks...
Looks like that's using the GoMovies plugin, with a highly customized setup of Nox offering up a bunch of extra menus.
Looks like an overcomplicated mess to me...

I think you answered your question
They're just making it look that good because they are trying to sell devices, your best bet for performance is to stick with the default skin to be honest.
