Supersu problems - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I recently installed MIUI custom ROM for note 2.
Wanting to check out the new utilities in my phone I installed titanium back up pro but it showed me no root access, Ditto with root checker.
I tried installing supersu it says needs to update binary file gives me 2 options normal and TWRP/CWM
normal says not able to install the other option tells me to reboot
Hasn't worked
I'm new to all of this
If anyone could help I would be grateful

This could be because the phone isn't rooted, what kernel are you using?

Exactly what my friend was trying to tell I had to install a kernel before the flashing and installing of thw MIUI
how do I get one of those into my phone??

the next time you try rooting proceed here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2445480 which provided a permanent root solution
Ok thanks. I rather do it this way simply because it allows me SuperSU and I can unroot easily without a PC

I updated to 4.3 on the note 2 via CyanogenMod. It appears I have lost root access. W

Pls explain what do you mean "no CWM anymore"?
Do you see the stock recovery?
You still could flash CWM or TWRP (another recovery, my favorite I'd say) from ODIN. You need a PC with Windows XP/7/8 and Samsung USB drivers installed to do it. Instructions are available in Q&A.
I initially had cwm installed and my root was working fine.
After I got the 4.3 update via CyanogenMod I updated my phone.
It went well. But I realized that i had lost my root options so whenever I opened super su it said that there's no binary installed and that I'll have to re root again.
So I was like maybe I should just root it again with the method I used first too root my phone ( when it was running on stock ). So I used the same Odin and rooted it. Although it said it was successful the root was still unavailable.
Well I lost interest in that and I got a another update from cm and when I tried to install it I couldnt. My cwm had gone. I tried re installing it with ROM manager but it wouldn't work... I don't know what to do.

Root Sprint Sm-T217S 7.0 tab

Hi, i recently won this tablet yesterday and wanted to root it. Have tried pretty much every non computer needed root app out there and none work. Even tried with odin, and i successfully installed twrp....but have no root which i didn't even think was possible lol. But every method for root i see is a few months old before the tab was updated to 4.4.2. So, is there even a root yet for KK? Because I've definitely looked...and if so, please point me in the right direction....thanks! ??
If you have twrp on it, then just flash the supersu zip from chainfire and you'll be rooted.

Which custom recovery are you using? Try to get latest supersu zip from XDA and flash it with your custom recovery manually, easy.
I've no idea what's a custom recovery is I flashed my phone following a tutorials on youtube using odin3
I'd be really happy if you explained it the noob way
