can someone plz create this watch ?
thnx in advance
i like it
BUT
like many watchfaces i seen like this, which i loved and downloaded... once installed on the 360 it makes the screen so clustered to me that it makes telling time hard
i have had so many that looked good in pics, but not installed
guys anyone is willing to create this face?
creating the face is relatively painless. recreating those assets for such a complex face would be a nightmare. If you can provide several high resolution front facing images where it would be easy to photoshop out each hand, background, etc. then you're more likely to get a volunteer to take that and make you the face. but the sheer amount of photoshop work required for that face without you providing the images is probably scaring off anyone who would volunteer (myself included).
It will be very hard to make it in photoshop

Has anyone contemplated creating a Android app that can take several images or a video clip and create a live wallpaper? That way, someone without any programming skills (like me) could make live wallpapers with our own video or picture collection. Would be awesome if something like that existed.
Just thinking out loud which I assume is better than talking in my head. Dunno...
DroidAppGen for this !
Hello,
We have just launched today our service droidappgen allowing to create Android livewallpapers.
For now, we display some images that the user can change automatically or on touchscreen. And another that can play a video if you have each frame.
We plan to add some new feature soon !
searching on google you can find droidappgen (I don't post often on xda, that I read a lot, so I can't post external link)
Don't hesitate to give your feedback here or using website.
Hopefully this is the right forum, and hopefully im not breaking any rules by posting this here!
Im looking for artist(s) for a game I am working on in Silverlight. It is a cross platform Windows Phone 7 and PC rts style game. Kinda crossed between Civilisation and C&C i guess. It is post-apocolyptic isometrical style, a bit like fallout i guess (BUT NOTHING LIKE FALLOUT LAWYERS! ;D).
I am in desperate need for artists as my art skills are really poor. I am coding the game and have a couple of people working on tech trees/balancing etc. The game is still in a resonably early state, although it is playable multiplayer already via web.
Id love to show you what I have, however I have not added the security layer yet so its currently still running on my local apache server
At the moment I have not begun the WP7 version, but i have tested what i have and it works, however it is not built for the aspect ratio yet, so until graphics are organised that part won't happen.
If anyone is interested, please let me know via this thread or PM.
Thanks for reading
Id like to help you out with graphics, what kind of scale would you be wanting for your game? detailed graphics skinning? more details the better and what kind of dedication to time.
Rosco
Hi Rosco.
Thanks for your reply!
We are not looking for a great deal of time dedication, although i guess it depends how quickly you can draw etc We also have day jobs so progress is not super fast, although it is moving each day.
The game is all 2D and the art can really be split into 3 sections:
1) UI. Menu graphics, login boxes, buttons etc
2) Building and Units. These are very simply animated (only a few frames) and in isometric view
3) Terrain graphics. These are really textures with dusty tracks, broken roads, sandy deserts etc
We have just recruited another artist and have not really assigned tasks or decided the art direction yet. While I am still coding the game, we are also working on our documentation so we can have a clearer idea of the art direction.
Id like to see some things you have done in the past if possible and id be happy to chat to you over msn or somewhere so you can get a better understanding of what we are trying to achieve and what our goals are.
I would be interested in helping you with graphics. Just let me know if you still need me.
Thanks for the reply, ive sent you a PM
Ok, i guess i'll put one selfish bump in here as we are still looking for artists I had a couple of replies, but no replies to PMs. So let me know if anyone is interested. The project has continued to move forward code wise, but the graphics are still sucky
i would like to help creating the menu graphics.
Hi HD2Owner, i dropped you a PM, thanks!
There's so many different themes and such out there that do different things, but generally are "too much" for what I'm looking for. What I'd like to find is something that could/would change everything in the evo to white text on black background. I don't need fonts or icons or anything else changed the way it looks. The skills that I'm guessing that would be required to do this I'm positive are way beyond anything I'm capable of.
Menus, settings, mms and google voice would be a huge plus too. I know the mms one has been done and I already have that. I'm assuming that it could be quite a project to go through just about everything and change them from a "flashlight" theme to something easier on the eyes in the dark.
I bought the weather and toggle widget and found the flip clock version that is the opposite of stock and it looks good but is a little heavy sometimes on the resources. If my memory serves me still, I remember the old school flip clocks being more light numerals and dark or colored background.
For those persons that enjoy doing this sort of thing, perhaps you might consider this project. I don't know how many other people out there like what I'm describing. If there were quite a few, maybe that would be an incentive? I know money talks, so I will say ahead of time, I could only say to you "thank you for your hard work and skills."
P.S.
I sent google a request for adding the choice of light or dark theme (and attachments) to google voice, but going by what other people have said, it is most likely falling on deaf ears.
This idea has tutorial project written all over it.
I imagine a more or less monochrome UI with most just solid blacks and not much in the way of gradients, very plain and basic.
I think it would be cool, I really like simplicity/minimalism.
What I mean by the tutorial comment is: For ANYONE even half way interested in learning how to theme and mod this would be a great place to start, for the following reasons..
- Most of the mods would be super easy, there is a wide variety of difficulty levels in theming and the easiest of them will be SIMPLE for anyone who has basic computer skills
- Learning to theme (if you enjoy this stuff) is fun because you build on what you know. It''s almost like a video game in that you do/learn things in levels. There is a dossier (guides, wiki's, google, other forum members, etc.) where you learn what you need to know before you begin the next level (achieving the mod you want to do). You fight through the pawns (editing images, xml's, smali's, etc) to get to the boss (flashing, morphing, testing your mod) and when you defeat the boss you have a sense of accomplishment that is almost immediately replaced with the next level
- The sheer simplicity of this themet lends it to being a community project
For anyone who wants to spend more "quality" time with this hobby and learn more about the platform I think this theme is a great opportunity
*edit- People collaborate a lot on this site and others but I've never personally seen a collaborative theme project. I wonder what the best way would be to (if anyone is interested in it) house everything in an open repository..
Hey guys, like the title says, I'm attempting to create an app, but with little success at this point.
What I want to do, didn't sound all that complicated in my head. I want to make an episode guide for a TV show I like. Nothing too fancy, but I do want it to look WP7-authentic.
First off, I don't know or really understanding coding in the slightest. I was hoping to be able to design most of the app through the on-screen WP7 display, which it seems I can do a lot on.
From what I've gathered, here's what I'd like to do:
Use the "Pivots" as the different story arcs or "seasons"
Within each pivot, Episode # and Title
But I'd also like to go one further and have each episode be clickable, which would take the user to a page containing info about the respective episode. Synopsis, International Titles, Airdate, etc.
It's a big project, I just need a little help getting it going.
Thanks!
dbG33K
what you're describing can be done one of two ways.
1. just display images after images
2. input text into the program
from what im gathering, it should be fairly easy for you to do as this is the sort of beginner stuff in most windows phone 7 programming books. id suggest you look into programming because even the slightest pivots and transitions require code.
now if you were on android or webos, thats different. they have full on graphics based programming thats a simple matter of drag and drop and choose function.
Download Expression Blend. You can do pretty much everything without having to write any code. It includes a "Pivot" template which has a pivot all ready for you, then you just add PivotItems using your mouse. Then you can use the Sample Data feature to mock up how your episode data will look.
The only thing you would have to write code for would be to pull the episode information from a datasource. Bind it to your controls and Expression will have the rest done for you.

First thing you'll need before you even open Visual Studio or Blend is a data feed.
An rss feed is ideal, And I'm sure theres alot of them out there for TV listings. Without that, theres little you can do (other than screen scraping websites, but people don't look too kindly on that)
If you can find me a Url for the RSS feed you want to use, I'll be more than willing to help you out

I'd be willing to help you out as well. I'm in the process of writing a feed reader to help me make the move WP7 from WPF/Silverlight. The idea I have for the UI is similar to yours and the feed reader (at least in the basic form) will be open source so I've no problem sharing my code...
I appreciate your willingness to help me out, but it's actually a series that has been over for quite a while.
Hey guys, I've gotten much further on my app and have become a little more well-acquainted with coding in the form of using Expression Blend 4. That said, I do have a few questions:
1. After making a few pages, I decided to make a sort of Welcome page for my app. How do I tell it to show that page first instead of "MainPage.xaml"?
2. On that welcome page, I would like to make a button that pulls up the user's E-mail and have it have my e-mail as the recipient.
Thanks a bunch!
This is in the WMAppManifest.xml file within the Properties folder.
for the email look into the email compose task

That doesn't really help me too much...
What am I supposed to do in the WMAppManifest.xml?
And where do I find the email compose task, and how do I implement it into the app?
EDIT: Nevermind, I figured out both of those questions. A new question, though: How do I take screen shots of the app? I need at least one to submit it to the marketplace, but I don't know how :/

Make sure your emulator is set to 100% size and uncheck the "Show Device" checkbox in the tool. That will give you the necessary 480x800 sized .png
There's a fair lot you can do using the designer panel, but you will definitely need C# code for what happens 'behind the curtains'. Things like pulling the episodes from the internet and such.
I definitely recommend these tutorials:
Windows Phone 7 Development for Absolute Beginners.
It builds up slowly, but definitely gives you the foundation you need to put together basic applications.
Hey guys I found this thread and after reading it I feel I have a lot in common with dbG33K's tasks & questions. I feel I have a lot to offer WP7 apps as I learn more! I started out in January learning and studying as an absolute beginner (even did the 5 day course online). After a lot of studying, I felt confident enough to write my first BIG app.
I'm pretty good at the xaml part and getting real familiar with c# as I go along. Also, I think I have all the pieces I need, just need help putting it all together. I'm using an API for the data source (i have all the dlls and resources in place even all the c# methods for the API).
I have the UI all put together, now working on the c#. I'm just unsure on the binding part. I know my listboxes and other controls should be binded to a method in c#, but what calls that method? When the page loads that listbox, textblock, etc? Also, what kind of coding is generally used inside the {} of the methods that pulls info from the datasource?
As I have learned a lot aver the past couple of months, I find that I've learned it from examples I've found online, but I'm drawing a blank on this one. Any help would be great!
Thanks!
Do any of you can tellme how can I save text from the text box??

I am brand-new to this, as I just got a Moto 360 (1st gen.) for Christmas. I was trying to make a watch face from a design. I had isolated the parts of the design i wanted for the hour hand and minute hand. However, every time i try to create the watchface in Watchmaker, the hour/minute hands have a white background. In other words, i cannot figure out how to create the design for the hands with a transparent background.
The main restriction i have is that i am only working on this through my work laptop, and i don't really have access to install new programs (i.e., paint.net, etc.). I have MS Paint, or any other program that is normally pre-installed.
Can anyone give any advice? OR... i could easily email the design parts to someone and have them build it for me. But i would like to know how to do this as well.
Thanks to all! Again, sorry for such a newb question.
