In CMR I'm getting the following message:
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/command
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery1/log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
From what I've gathered from various posts if I can re-install a stock ROM (currently on CM10) from my external SD card, the problem should be resolved. I copied the stock odexed ROM from the thread below onto my SD card but when I navigate to the folder saved, the file is not there. Any suggestions on how to fix the problem/revert to stock? This all started when my phone wouldn't boot past the Note II logo screen.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2589891
Thanks for any help you can provide.
Edit: Just tried to sideload stock based on this thread. Was able to complete all of the steps but CWM gave the following message:
Restarting adbd...
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_install
E:failed to open last_install: File exists
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
E:Can't open /tmp/update.zip
(bad)
Installation aborted.
Maybe I'll check out the new Nexus 6.... ^_^
Still trying to work on this. Tried to flash with ODIN but can't get an active com port. Really at a dead end right now.

Yes, I tried numerous versions of the Stock ROM.4.0,4.1 all the same results
Hi all,
I have an AT&T Samsung Galaxy S3 16GB (SGH-I747). Recently my phone starting locking up and shutting down on occasion, and yesterday it got much more frequent before refusing to boot at all. When I power on the phone it proceeds as normal up until the "Samsung Galaxy S III" logo screen before and then hangs.
I can enter recovery and download modes. I am also able to flash new recoveries using Odin (I tried switching to stock, and when that didn't work, back to CWM. No problems either time) But when I try to flash the stock ROM again, Odin hangs up on the /cache section of the flash and produces the following log:
Note: The only option I have checked in Odin is Auto Reboot
Code:

It's worth mentioning that I've tried to clear/format the cache several times with Clockwork Recovery, but it can't seem to mount, write or read the partition. The message I receive after taking almost any action in Clockwork (presumably because it's trying to update the cache) is this:
Code:
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/command
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_install
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/last_install
I've also tried using Odin along with a pit file to repartition the device. It appears successful, but then still can't flash the image. Here's the log for that:
Note: In this case, I obviously have Re-Partition checked as well as Auto Reboot, but nothing else is selected.

Does anyone know how I can revive my phone? I'm not very familiar with the android environment or filesystem, and I'm hoping the problem is just that I'm doing something wrong/stupid.
Looks like you have the 4.3 bootloader and you cannot flash a stock 4.3 ROM in Odin unless you are using a a 4.3 ROM that has been compiled for flashing via Odin.
Don't use Odin with any ROM prior to 4.3.

Thanks, any idea where I could find the correct ROM?
Have a look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2722660
Hey everyone i've got a problem.
I wanted to install cm11 on my ace 2 so first of all i rooted it. I then tried to flash custom recovery cwm6
I tried this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2583845
flashed it, and got this error:
assert failed: write_raw_image("/tmp/recovery.img", "recoveryonly")
E: Error in /tmp/sideload/package.zip (status 7)
install_package = (1)

I then tried another custom recovery: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2141395
again, i got that error plus that the signature verification failed.
I saw that the second recovery is just an update for cwm 5 so i thought i must flash cwm 5 and then update it to 6.
Can anyone please help me and give me a valid link to a recovery that will work?
Thank you.
EDIT: I found this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2682888
and tried to flash every of the recovery through odin and it didn't work.

Bricked.
Great.... now my phone is bricked.
it says Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kied and try again. But Kies doesn't even find my phone.
I'll try to repair it
Hi all.
My unrooted SHW-M480W got suddenly stuck in a samsung logo bootloop.
I can access system recovery and download mode, and my device is able to connect to odin (but not kies).
Recovery mode shows:
Code:

can't mount '/system' (invalid argument)
E: failed to mount / system (Invalid argument)
E: File Open error '/cache/recovery/log'
E: can't open /cache/recovery/log

E: can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
E: File Open error '/cache/recovery/last_install;'
E: can't open /cache/recovery/last_install
I downloaded the CF Auto-Root: p4notewifiany for the SHW-M480W (auto-reboot and F. Reset Time checked)
but Odin is unable to flash it:

How do I go from here to recover my tablet?
Any help would be appreciated, I am very new to this whole flashing my tablet thing.
SHW-M480W is a variant of the original Note 10.1, and not of the Note 10.1 2014, right? You might have better luck in those forums.
