I really like my current Validus 4.4.4 rom. I like how I can customize my Navigation Bar and have 5 total hardware buttons on the Navigation Bar. I'm also worried some games/apps may not work with ART. Are there any Lollipop roms out there that allow more customization of the Status and Navigation Bars? If not, will this roll out when 5.0 rolls out for D851?

I ran my 4.4.4 rom with ART and had no issues that I noticed with apps. Xposed doesn't seem to work with 5.0 ART yet, not sure if you use that. Not really sure what you mean about 5 hardware buttons in the navigation bar, but I would think that LG would keep that functionality, usually you don't remove features when you update.
Take a look at my home screen. I want to carry over what I currently have set up. Problem is I forgot how I even got my Navigation bar to look like it does. I used G3 tweakbox when I was running stock and think I somehow carried some of it over with TiBu.

You will still be able to do that on 5.0 but if you tweaked anything using exposed that wont work.

id say to wait because a friend of mine that i used to work with at tmobile said the store demo just updated to 5.0. if true someone will do a system dump and we may have a lot more stable 5.0 roms. i keep running into issues in all 5.0 roms with headphone jack not working in my car and other minor issues that are major to me.
I really like the stock LG camera. Will we have to wait for official ROM release before we can get it?
No Xposed support with ART is enough to keep me on KitKat indefinitely.

wile playing with my Gnex phone the following idea poped into my head;
would it not be handy to have the time displayed in the ICS navigation bar, replacing the homekey grafics but not the function...
then you can keep track of time while playing games of running any other fullscreen application where the notificationbar is hidden.
what do you guys think?
I like it

good ideas but i need power menu soft key can use soft key from power menu
>.> Ummm bump? I like this idea too. perhaps not limit it to time but serve as a ticker?
I.e, normally it shows time, but it will show notification icons somewhere and a swipe will reveal the notification centre?
EDIT: On the top of my mind... we probably could get a couple of apps/mods to get something similar:
* There are full screen mods
* GMD gesturecontrol works on Gnex last time I tried.I suppose you can assign swipes and gestures to mimic the navbar buttons
* Only thing I don't really get is how we'd get a clock or notification area to show permanently at the bottom. Perhaps there are some apps that do this, Notifierpro plus does notification.. not time though.
* Paranoid android tablet UI, hide/remove the nav bar buttons, and try to move the notification area to the centre. Something like that...
There is a ROM that has all the features you are looking for:

However the base is CM9. I hope it will be upgraded to JB soon. I use it since a month and I prefer it over any other ROM.

What I think would be nice is if we could just get rid of the navbar and replace it with a gesture from the bottom edge to reveal the ring in my screenshot, except the nav controls will be on that ring
AFAIK GMD gesture control supports this. Not quite sure. Just try the lite version first.

Few options are out there already.
GMD - You can set various swipes such as 45* up/left for back, up for home, etc, activated at the bottom.
App that I forget the name of but enables pie control in any app. You can set multiple layers as well as an inner and outer pie ring, but this can get a bit clustered. Realistically you can probably set all of your most used apps into the pie on various layers though and get rid of every shortcut.
Latest PA has a more feature rich but less customized pie. Battery bar, time, notifications, access notification panel, per-app color of pie, and more. However, unlike the app above you cannot add additional items into the pie, at least not yet.

LMT with PIE Control is IMHO the Name of the app. In the last version it includes also the swipe from the bottom like in Para...Rom (don't know the name of the rom right now). But it's not the same. A simple swipe from the bottom and it should show the orig. softkeys. That would be soooooo cool! I would never ever switch back and set the expanded desktop active
I have GMD installed and I was not able to hide only the soft keys.
The only option I found hides the soft keys AND the notification bar on the top of the phone, so valuable info like battery, signal strength etc are also hidden.
Any ideas to hide only the soft keys?

Not totally gesture but u must take a look at paranoid android PIE control. It's still in beta but it has a lot of potential.

Exactly what I was looking for
But how stable is paranoid android compared to CM10
My main issue is I haven't found a good way of hiding the softkeys. GMD closes the whole SystemUI so lose the top bar and app switcher, and the Fullscreen Toggle that a lot of people use removes the in-app menu button which is not ideal as I don't really want to have a gesture just to access the basic menu.
Is there a good way of doing this that I've missed?

I'm running it from day 1 (got my N4 since half December) and it's perfectly stable. I always wait a little while before updating and follow the tread to be sure there are no great bugs. If everything's ok then I'll update to a newer version. The PIE option is really Beta so there will be some bugs.
I think u just must try it, paranoid android is really a original and renewing ROM. Not just because the pie, but also the hybrid, per app color and dpi option.
It's just as stable, if not more stable then cm10.1 The rom is based on AOSP so should be as stable as the original one.

another option might be the Hide Bottom Bar app from the play store.
I'm just wondering if anyone knows of an app that gives you a nav bar. I've tried searching quite a bit. I found a thread detailing how to mod some files to bring up the bar but I wasn't able to get that to work. There's also someone who made one specifically for the Wicked ROM but I've also had some problems with that. I saw the post on the XDA portal about Ultimate Dynamic Navbar but unfortunately that one automatically hides, and if you set it to stay up it covers up apps and things at the bottom of the screen.
Best case scenario I'd like something that gives you the options most any AOSP based ROM gives you. I've switched over to CM and AOKP ROMs just for that feature but unfortunately I need WiFi calling. I'd be willing to pay for such an app but I just haven't been able to find anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

For the most part the NAV bar is intergrated into the framework of the ROM. If it's not built in you can't just activate it. Any app that creates one is just an overlay.
However there may be ways to flash a patch to add it to the rom framework in recovery depending on the rom
This has info on how to enable in ROM, and here is a nav bar for wicked v3 as well. The first link worked for me to get the nav bar.
Introduction
Did you upgraded to KitKat and want to hide Navigation Bar and use third party Pie control like LMT?
Well, maybe you find that LMT doesn't show from the bottom of screen after you did all above steps, right? It happen to me too.
This is why I created this Xposed mod. It will disable Navigation Ring, so your third party navigation will again show at the bottom of screen. Enjoy!

Hi @smyrosnik and @6ril1,
I have 20a and no lg keyboard fc issue. Can you provide me logcat?
My LG keyboard version is 4.4.28, if you have older, try software update.
I don't think weather is broken by my mod. It doesn't work at all, no matter if I activate or disable my mod.
I am guessing the mod is modifying build.prop. In this case whether I try to hide navigation button through the mod or by addding qemu.hw.mainkeys=1 to that file has the same result. It causes the weather widget to malfunction and sometimes the keyboard fc. The keyboard version is 4.4.22. I have used both Stock 4.4.2 international version for D802 and CloudyStock 1.2. Same problem
I will provide the log as soon as possible.

Not modifying build.prop, but overwrite android config value. Basically output is same. As you guys said, this is common way for most mods to hide navigation, nothing special.
Weird is that weather widget doesn't work on my device. When I add it to home screen or lock screen it ask to download 75MB update. After that update add again doesn't work at all.

Well, your screenshot show gravity box crash. Gravity box is quite powerfull mod, it tweaks a lot of things. Try to check it's settings if there is anything related to Navigation Ring. Like I wrote before, if using multiple mod which tweaks navigation bar, it could happen that my mod disable it and next mod enable again.
You can simply confirm it by disabling gravity box for the moment and restart.

What I see is a lot of missing files and resources needed for keyboard to run. This looks really strange. You are running original LG stock ROM? Anything disabled or removed?
I don't think I can solve missing keyboard files. Do you have latest 4.4.28 keyboard?
This may be a stupid question, but will Xposed work for the 7a? I strongly dislike Color OS and am waiting patiently for ROMS, but in the meantime I'd like to use Xposed to tweak some of the small annoyances of Color OS.
update: I installed Xposed and none of the modules that I am interested in seem to work. I really want the exchange security bypass (for lock screen features) and on-screen keys. I realize there is a work-around for on-screen keys, but I wanted to take the easy way out

It's already in the center on ColorOS which causes notifications to often go into overflow... I HATE centerclock for this reason (and you'll find that issue is why many custom firmwares refuse to merge that feature - it breaks notification icon layout)

To be prevent confusion its on the right in 1.2 and center in the beta although I think both could be fairly described as beta but that's grist for a different thread. lol At any rate totally agree. Center clocks serve no purpose I can discern but reduce the available notification area by more than half and even a pathetic old man like me who no one talks to can run out of space up there pretty quick with one.
