Hi All, new here...I have a HTC TP2 with Winmo 6.5 installed. Here's my situation, a couple days ago I used to received emails from my gmail account, now all of a sudden I can just send and not recieved any emails from gmail. My yahoo and hotmail accounts are running fine. Anyone have any ideas why my gmail is not receiving??? I spoke to one of the TMobile reps and it seems all they can do is HARD RESET the device. Any help? thanks in advance
I use Seven for my push e-mail, google, yahoo, exchange all work flawlessly. Have you made any changes to your device around the time it stopped working?
no i haven't changed anything on my phone which is kinda weird, I really don't want to hard reset the phone since restoring things is taking a toll on me. I would like for it to be a last resort but on the other hand I might just end up doing it since Im flirting with the idea of flashing to one of the custom roms here in xda. any ideas?
just my two cents... yesterday I discovered that all of a sudden my Gmail account had disappeared from the account selector (leaving only Outlook), I could still see the emails but couldn't reach account settings or nothing
Somehow it returned, but with most settings in blank.. imap and smtp server, SSL options, all were in blank.. no idea why or how this happened, but filled all blanks up again and now Gmail's working fine...
Trouble w/ Gmail after WinMo 6.5 Sprint upgrade
Just upgraded my Sprint TP2 to WinMo 6.5 today. Why this update took so long to come to Sprint customers is beyond me, but overall, I'm pretty pleased with the update, save one problem that has made me "strategically relocate" my phone with sudden velocity...twice.
I've been trying to set up Gmail since this evening, with zero success. I had my Gmail account set up on the device before the upgrade/update, but now...
I've tried every known method to enter the settings, but whenever the device tries to connect to the Google servers, it tells me I need to check my user name & password, even though I've entered both correctly.
I've even logged into my Gmail account on my laptop, changed the password just to make sure I've entered the correct one, & the device still kicks back to the user name/password screen saying the settings are wrong...I KNOW THAT THEY'RE NOT!!!
I've seen several posts from users experiencing trouble with Gmail on 6.5, but these have all seemed to stem from Wi-Fi vs. other types of connections.
I've also installed Google Sync & my Gmail has DL'd to my device, but I prefer to get my e-mail through the normal account setup.
Sorry so lengthy & thanks in advance for any advice anyone may be able to provide.
not sure if it is googles problem or our phones but i spoke to a couple of people with iphones and gmail accounts and it seems that they arent having any problems receiving their gmails. Did windows take a dump sometime this week?

Not sure if this will help, but... when username is requested, you have to type the complete idem, i.e., [email protected]er ... some time ago I had same problem as yours and solved it after realizing that I was including my username alone, without the @myserviceprovider.com part

Thanx, sirgal. Actually, I had tried both ways - one with just the username and one with my entire e-mail address, both to no avail.
However, I say "had tried" because, lo & behold, today just as I'm about to contact HTC tech support to see if 6.5 was causing Gmail probs, I decided to try creating the account ONE MORE TIME. Murphy's Law prevailed and, for reasons unbeknownst to me...IT WORKED.
I did everything the exact same way as I tried yesterday, but this time success. I'm taking a strictly "don't ask, don't tell" approach as to why it worked today.
Thanks again for the suggestion!
I'm having a similar problem hopefully someone can help with. I've setup my gmail account and had it working fine until without any cause I can determine, the accout disappears except for still showing up on the TouchFlo e-mail "tab." When this first happened, I started from scratch and setup "Gmail2" which also worked for a while. The reason I had to name it Gmail2 is that when I tried to use Gmail as I had originally done it tells me that this name is already in use. It just did this to me again and sure enough, I had to name the account Gmail3 this time around. I don't understand why they are "disappearing" nor why the name is still in use and the previous 2 versions still show up on the TouchFlo e-mail tab and nowhere else.
Odd question, or at least I think it is as this is the closest thread to the actual problem I'm having that I've found here or the HTC forums. Thank you in advance for any assistance.

I have the exact same happened to me multiple times in the past. The only solution I found is to restore from a previous backup. Fortunately I backup at least once per week so it wasn't too disastrous but still annoying.
Unfortunately, I haven't ever done a backup (honestly never thought of it for a phone) so that isn't going to help. What I'm hoping for is if someone else has seen this and how to delete the ghost accounts. Thank you wearefree for the help.
Basically my friend took my desire and wanted a play with it... however i had the pattern unlock on it and he got it wrong 20 times and now i need to put in my gmail account details and password. Despite this i never use gmail and have used my secondary email to find out my detail, but adding these details dont work on my phone!?!?!?
is there any other way to get me back on to this amazing phone !!!
Try reseting, if that doesnt help, hard-reset
hello. i hope this is under the right place! if not, i do apologize. i have two at&t samsung galaxy s3 phones, both running jelly bean. one is mine and the other is under my account (relative). i have purchased an app for my phone call phonelocator pro. seems to be a good app for the desperate times when you lose your phone! i installed it on my phone with no issues, and it works flawlessly! however, i signed in under my email address on the second phone (my relatives phone under my account) and downloaded the app and installed it with no issues. after installing the app on my relatives phone, i ran the app so i could fill in all the proper info. i figured at the time that i could use my relatives info (email address) and that would be that. a couple of days later i received an email from the company saying that i could not have multiple email addresses for the app and that the official email address (the email address used to purchase the app) would have to be used. i said, ok, no problem! i went to go back in to put my email address and correct the issue but it wouldn't let me. it keeps saying "error, this phone is registered with another email account". i tried every option in the setup wizard, but nothing works. i contacted support (about 7 times) for the app and in the end they told me that i would basically have to format and recover my phone to factory settings. i find that hard to believe. has anyone ever heard of this? does anyone else have this app and know an alternative way to correct this issuse? i unstalled the app and reinstalled and it did the same thing. i can't see putting factory settings if the email address is already registered to this phone. anyways, any help would be appreciated! thanks USCS30
First of all, this is my first post in XDA so I'm really not sure if this is the right topic place thingy... Sorry.
I had bought this Sony Xperia T2 Ultra like around 2 years back. And had configured a SIM Pin and all the security thingies, etc immediately because my last android was stolen :3
I never needed to use it though but now a friend of mine's phone got stolen, thus I became more alert and wanted to set up a SIM Lock PIN (I had totally forgot that I even had a PIN before). So when I try to put a new SIM PIN, I found out that there is already a PIN set up and thus I try to guess what PIN I could've set. I had three tries, I lost 2 of them and now I just got only one try. I'm scared to guess again, because if my phone gets locked and I never remember the PIN, then it's gon' be a big problem for me. I don't want to format the phone or anything because I've got important documents on my phone, and lots of apps. It's going to be a nuisance. Let me clear that the phone does belong to ME, I even have the bill and everything. I just want to recover the PIN or change it in some way without having to format my phone.
2nd is probably a small issue but I'm having a problem with my Gmail. See, my ex-girlfriend's android and my android had all the google services linked up to my gmail. Including the Gmail app that I use my Facebook with. It still was the same way after we had broken up and I didn't had the "gmail app logged in" in mind. A few days back, my Facebook account was hacked and random thingies were posted from my account. I'm guessing she probably used the forgot password option in FB and used the gmail app to change my password. I recovered my FB, and then immediately changed my gmail password, used the "log out from all google services" in the gmail website. But I was just checking my laptop, and I can see that the gmail is still logged in automatically on my laptop whenever I open the website. So I'm thinking maybe it's still logged in her gmail app too. Can someone help me out with this too? :3
Thanks a lot in advance ! :highfive:
A good friend of mine passed away last October and his Wife is trying to unlock his phone to see if there is any last messages or pictures she does not have. His phone is disconnected and has been off and not received an OST update since at least October 10 2019.
Here are a few idea's / things I have tried
1] Reached out to a friend that works at google and offered to provide a death certificate but was told under no circumstances would they unlock his account.
2] Tried to recover his gmail login because I have access to his secondary email account but he never used the google account to send emails so no idea what login his account is even under.
What I am looking for is any additional ideas or suggestions. I found a tool called Dr. Fone that sounds like it might be able to remove the PIN without wiping his phone. Has anyone used this app before and had luck? Are there any other ideas or workarounds I am not thinking of?
Thanks in advance
Dan
Unless the wife can remember his pin or his google account password you're likely out of luck. You might as well try the Dr. Fone software, though I've never heard of it, especially as Google will not help anyone for security reasons.
Curious
I can sometimes brake into my password in my cell by trying over a few times and causing a glitch, just try until it has an error. Also by any chance did she ever use a regular computer at her phone login or maybe send someone an email so you can at least get the address? If you can find the address it is usually pretty easy to get a password so if she had written it or sent an email or anything that is a great start.
You would have more luck with the Google in reality...starting here: https://support.google.com/accounts/troubleshooter/6357590?hl=en#ts=6357650
