[Q] Rooting Problem

Hi, I am new here, I have some questions,
-> I cannot get the wildfire to start by using Volume- + Power button, It makes the screen black then no response.
-> Is there anyway to know your HBOOT Version.
-> If you phone gets stuck between the process of booting, will I be able to reverse it?
-> What is my phone gets "Bricked"? Is there anyway to reverse it
-> What happens if I factory restore a rooted phone?
Please help.
I cannot run even doodlejump properly, I cannot run TSB Shell 3d on my 12000 Rupee phone when my friend with a 7000 rupee Galaxy Y runs Temple run, TSB Shell 3D. So please.........
And can I overcloack it to 700Mhz or more, is there any problem if i do?

If your sole purpose of rooting is to run apps and games like Temple Run / SPB Shell 3D / TSF Shell smoothly, then I would recommend don't go for it. There won't be any noticeable change at all. That's evolution of technology for you, and changing anything on the software end is not going to transform your hardware.
Now, to answer your queries
- Try again to get into HBoot mode. Turn off the phone completely, then press the Vol Down key first, and keeping it pressed, press the power key briefly. Then let go of both of them simultaneously.
- If you get into HBoot mode successfully (Using Vol Down + Power), the HBoot version is listed on the first line there
- Should be possible 9.9 times out of 10. However, there is no guarantee.
- Same as above. Should be possible in most cases, but again no guarantee.
- Factory resetting a rooted phone will have the same effects as factory resetting your phone now. The root will remain, but apps and data will be removed.

Mm, Tried 2 times, still not working, starts the regular way, Shows HTC, then HTC quietly brilliant then starts.
Then is there any other way to run these apps smoothly.
And people say CM7 is the best custom ROM, what is its advantages over others? And can I run an advanced version of sense itself on the device?

Hmm, well, I really can't explain it anymore. It's possible that entering HBoot is not working on your Wildfire (Possible key malfunction?). In that case, I am not aware of any alternatives to enter HBoot mode. Try looking up Youtube videos for it, if you can.
As for the apps, no, there is no way to make them run smoother. Overclocking and custom ROMs can only marginally improve things at best as I said. The problem lies in the fact that the Wildfire uses a 2007 spec CPU and does not have a dedicated GPU, which is vital for playing 3D games and running 3D apps like SPB Shell. Since the root cause of the problem is the hardware, no ROM can fix it.
CM is an AOSP (Android Open Source Project) based ROM. It completely removes Sense and provides a Stock Google Android OS experience with a lot of tweaks and is highly customizable. You can take a look at the following two pages for more info:

Whether or not it is the "best" ROM depends on the user. There can't be a universally best ROM since ROM choice is a matter of personal preference.
Lastly, Sense can be upgraded, but, the Custom ROMs offering higher versions of Sense are all still Work-In-Progress ROMs with quite a lot of functionality missing. You can check their status at the following threads:

So anyway I want to root, I don't know the HBOOT Version.
My device is an unlocked one, so can you tell what version it might be?
And If I use revolutionary, will there be any bad effects since I don't know the HBOOT Version

If you are on Android 2.2.1, it should be on HBoot 1.01.0002. So, you will have to downgrade to HBoot 1.01.0001 first and then use Revolutionary. Also, Revolutionary will only work on HBoot 1.01.0001 so if its not that, the process wont start at all. Proceed in this manner:
Step 1 - Downgrade your HBoot to 1.01.0001. Guide here:

However, I am still a bit worried that your device can't enter HBoot. I would try to get that bit working first before you attempt to root, because, if in the unlikely event that something goes wrong, you will need the HBoot mode working to get your device back to working order. Before running Revolutionary, try the downgrade procedure and check if you can enter HBoot. (Note - Performing the downgrade will format your device, so make sure you have your stuff backed up)

You need to install the Superuser binary as a final step before you acquire root rights. Get the file from here: http://goo.im/superuser/Superuser-3.0.7-efghi-signed.zip
Place it on your SDCard. Now, turn off your Wildfire, Power it on in HBoot Mode (Using Vol Down + Power). Now, Navigate to "RECOVERY" using the Volume Keys, and Press the Power Key to select it.
This should take you to Clockworkmod Recovery. Here, Select "Install Zip from SDCard" (Press the Trackball to select stuff here, not the Power Key) > "Choose Zip from SDCard", and select the SU-3.0.7-EFGHI.ZIP file you placed on your SDCard. Let it install, then Reboot. Check for root again, it should be successful.

I didn't have the Market app. So I searched and downloaded this Zip, installed it, Signed in, did everything, But when I tried "Accept and Download" it displayed "******** cannot be download due to an error".

Have you installed custom ROM ? If you did , and you are missing the market and the other google apps , you have to flash gapps from the recovery.First download the gapps zip , place it on the sd-card , reboot in ClockworkMod then 1.install zip 2.choose zip from sd-card 3.you have to find the zip on the sdcard, choose it , agree and wait. It should be installed and after reboot you will have google apps.

Sorry for the caps , but i see you are not very into android for now , so dont hurry and think well . Other than that , 1 suggestion: download the latest clockwork recovery app from somewhere and make BACKUP of your current rom and settings, this way if anything goes wrong you wont loose almost anything!

I rooted it and installed CM7
Yes, I installed CM7, and is now getting all of its animations and stuff,
But I couldn't get the market so I downloaded this file before posting "gapps-gb-20110828-signed" and flashed it with Install zip from SD card.
Now I got only the market, I can use and browse apps, but I cannot download any apps, when I click accept and download it says "******** cannot be download due to an error".
Now I downloaded a "gapp-market-3-0-27-signed.zip" but I didn't install since I don't know what it would do to the existing market,,
There is this file also that gives full gapps
- BooksPhone.apk = Google Books
- CarHomeGoogle.apk = Car Home
- Gmail.apk = Gmail
- GoogleDocs.apk = Google Docs
- GooglePlus.apk = Google+
- Maps.apk = Google Maps

Still no good
Its Still not working, At Accept and Download, It crashes.

Reflash the ROM and GApps Package (gapps-gb-20110828-signed). Then try a Fix Permissions in Clockworkmod Recovery, then try again.

It blocked every file exceeding 1MB
Fixing Permissions fixed my problems! Thank you very much 3xeno!

This guide has been tested on two HTC T328W dual-sim phones bought from China. It has also been tested with the following Build numbers and baseband versions and both worked perfectly.

Bootloader unlocking
1. Let’s change the language to English first so we understand the phone better. Open the apps menu and go to the Settings icon (the cogwheel icon). Scroll down to the setting with the “A” icon. Click the first item in the list and choose English.
2. Go to htcdev . c o m, create an account and click the Unlock bootloader icon. After logging in, choose “All Other Supported Models” from the list and click the Begin Unlock Boatloader button. Accept that you may lose any guarantee and continue to follow the instructions.
3. To enter bootloader mode, make sure the phone is off (or remove the battery for a few seconds). Then hold Volume Down and start pressing the Power button – without any USB cable. Use the up and down buttons to select “Fastboot” and select it using the Power button. Now connect your USB cable and continue following the HTC instructions.
4. All the files you need are in the zip you can get above. I also installed the HTC Sync program which installs the drivers. Using the command prompt you can simply navigate to the extracted files and run the fastboot command. (Use the command “cd C:/myextractedzip” to change to a directory).
5. Save the Unlock_Code.bin attachment which you get from HTC by Email into the same extracted zip folder and run the next command. You now have an unlocked bootloader and the phone will start up and an HTC wizard will appear where you can choose the English language again.
Flashing clockworkmod
1. Remove any USB cables and boot again into the bootloader mode. Click Fastboot and reconnect your USB cable. Now run the following command on your computer: fastboot flash recovery recovery.img . This flashes the clockworkmod recovery image onto the phone.
2. Switch off your phone. Make sure your USB cable is removed.
3. Now copy the “app” folder from the zip onto a micro-sd card. Also copy the “CWM-SuperSU-v0.92.zip” and “rootexplorer_2.16.apk” onto the micro-sd card.
4. Insert the micro-sd card into the phone and boot into boatloader mode again.
5. Now choose the recovery option instead of fastboot and wait for clockworkmod recovery to appear.
Rooting the phone
1. In clockworkmod recovery, choose install zip from sdcard
2. Choose “choose zip from sdcard” and choose “CWM-SuperSU…zip”
3. Scroll down to “Yes – Install CWM-SuperSu” and wait. Now go back and reboot the phone normally.
Installing Google Apps
1. Using the included file manager on the phone, click on “rootexplorer.apk” and install it. When launching root explorer, make sure you grant it superuser permissions.
2. Go click the “sdcard” folder and press and hold the “app” folder that you copied from the zip file. Click “copy” and then navigate to /system . Press “Mount R/W”. And then click “Paste”. Choose Yes to overwrite. Exit root explorer.
3. Now we need to fix the permissions. The easiest way is if you enable USB Debugging mode from the “Developer Options” settings. Make sure you connect your USB cable.
4. Open a command prompt to our extracted zip folder and type “adb shell”. Press enter and you should see “[email protected]:/ $”. Run “su”. Run “cd /system/app”.
5. Now to fix all permissions, run “chmod 644 *.apk” and then run “chown root.root *.apk” .
6. Now run “reboot” to reboot your phone.
Removing bloatware apps
1. Thanks to dark_hawk from xda-developers, we have a list of system apps/bloatware that are save to remove. You can easily do this from the root explorer app. Go to /system/app and hold each item you want to delete. Then click delete. You can also remove each app’s odex file.

Thanks for the instructions. I have installed the update successfully.
Although installing the market initially failed. Before that the phone booted.
After applying the google aps bit the phone didn't startup again it hang at the 'HTC quitly brilliant' screen.
Although after first reinstalling the RUU and after that doing this procedure again it worked. I'm new to Android I can follow instructions although I'm clouless of what I'am actually doing.
I have a few problems though:
1.
After installing however I have a problem that google play now sais that I can't install runkeeper because my phone isn't compatible.
I was able to install this program before on this phone. Anyone a clue on that?
2.
Also I have a problem that if I wan't to apply a system update of android from the about screen it will error with "assert failed: getprop("ro:cid") == "00000000"
Anyone a sollution for that specific for this phone?

Also I have a problem with this phone that my 3G internet is working strangly. I hoped to solve this with installing a newer version.
Some applications are always working like play store, facebook, friendcaster. Youtube app works ok when browsing videos, although can't play.
Whatsapp only seems to work a few minutes after the 3G connection is set up. And internet browsing doesn't work at all. I tried opera and firefox.
With WIFI all is good and then it is a wonderfull phone.
I get good download speeds when I install a program from google play.
Although I would love to have a stable whatsapp and browsing capabilities while i'm away from wifi. Anyone familliar with this problem?
I was hoping to adress the internet issue by updating ICS, although like stated this also fails.

One think that voice search is not working on phone dialpad, I have to remove it and install voice search from the market - now in apps like maps, phone search working fine. Till now I didn't find any else problem

Hello guy,
I received this morning this phone from Etotalk.
I bought also from them their preinstalled services including multilangiage OS and unlocking and rooting services (I know how to root but 'cause price was so low....).
However I received the phone...but...:
1. Only English & China language installed
2. Wlan & btooth doesn't work
When I switch on the WLAN appears error message. And remains 'Turning WLAN on'. Also Btooth doesn't switch on
So I am asking myself if this is related to the root process or somewhat else or is an hardware problem ??

Mine is from etotalk too and it works fine!
Try to make first reset the phone! Should be working then! I think, it`s only software problem! if it`s rootet, install the recovery from here:

and make a NAND Backup! Then you can try to flash the newest European ROM!
But in first step, try to reset the complete phone in SETTINGS-Storage scroll down to end here!

Bootloader unlocking
1. Let’s change the language to English first so we understand the phone better. Open the apps menu and go to the Settings icon (the cogwheel icon). Scroll down to the setting with the “A” icon. Click the first item in the list and choose English.
2. Go to htcdev . c o m, create an account and click the Unlock bootloader icon. After logging in, choose “All Other Supported Models” from the list and click the Begin Unlock Boatloader button. Accept that you may lose any guarantee and continue to follow the instructions.
3. To enter bootloader mode, make sure the phone is off (or remove the battery for a few seconds). Then hold Volume Down and start pressing the Power button – without any USB cable. Use the up and down buttons to select “Fastboot” and select it using the Power button. Now connect your USB cable and continue following the HTC instructions.
4. All the files you need are in the zip you can get above. I also installed the HTC Sync program which installs the drivers. Using the command prompt you can simply navigate to the extracted files and run the fastboot command. (Use the command “cd C:/myextractedzip” to change to a directory).
5. Save the Unlock_Code.bin attachment which you get from HTC by Email into the same extracted zip folder and run the next command. You now have an unlocked bootloader and the phone will start up and an HTC wizard will appear where you can choose the English language again.
Flashing clockworkmod
1. Remove any USB cables and boot again into the bootloader mode. Click Fastboot and reconnect your USB cable. Now run the following command on your computer: fastboot flash recovery recovery.img . This flashes the clockworkmod recovery image onto the phone.
2. Switch off your phone. Make sure your USB cable is removed.
3. Now copy the “app” folder from the zip onto a micro-sd card. Also copy the “CWM-SuperSU-v0.92.zip” and “rootexplorer_2.16.apk” onto the micro-sd card.
4. Insert the micro-sd card into the phone and boot into boatloader mode again.
5. Now choose the recovery option instead of fastboot and wait for clockworkmod recovery to appear.
Rooting the phone
1. In clockworkmod recovery, choose install zip from sdcard
2. Choose “choose zip from sdcard” and choose “CWM-SuperSU…zip”

3. Now we need to fix the permissions. The easiest way is if you enable USB Debugging mode from the “Developer Options” settings. Make sure you connect your USB cable.
4. Open a command prompt to our extracted zip folder and type “adb shell”. Press enter and you should see “[email protected]:/ $”. Run “su”. Run “cd /system/app”.
5. Now to fix all permissions, run “chmod 644 *.apk” and then run “chown root.root *.apk” .
6. Now run “reboot” to reboot your phone.
Removing bloatware apps
1. Thanks to dark_hawk from xda-developers, we have a list of system apps/bloatware that are save to remove. You can easily do this from the root explorer app. Go to /system/app and hold each item you want to delete. Then click delete. You can also remove each app’s odex file.

But how to add a google account? I tried Settings -> 'Accounts & sync' -> Add. I can see 'Exchange activeSync', 'HTC account', 'Mail', 'Ms hotmail', 'SkyDrive'. However, there is no 'Google' option.

So I purchased this phone from eBay, it came "unlocked" and I am able to use it in Canada easily. No problems with Google Apps, english, etc.
I don't know if this is a rooted unlock or a hardware carrier unlock.
So, with HTC now telling me there are system updates available, I don't know whether installing them will lock the phone up if it's been rooted. I've written the seller a few times and despite very many positive reviews, I have no answer to this question. So I'm posting here.

As your baseband matches the build number it would suggest that you have an original Asia version. You should be able to use the OTA update without problems. If when you run the update it says something about "HTC has detected that the software is not original" then you probably have a Chinese model that has Asia firmware on it.

Unable to stay login to HTCDev
I recently got a Desire V and wants to root it.
Not sure if any of you faces this problem..I have registered at HTCDev and followed the instruction to click on the email link to complete registration. However each time when I successfully log in, I am being thrown out and I need to re-login. Sometimes I am able to succesfully log in to the bootloader section and then am able to select the model and go through the legal notification. But after that Im always thrown out.
Is anyone facing this? I have registered for another id and its the same thing.
Need a HUGE favor...is it possible for someone who has registered successfully and unlocked their bootloader to lend me their userid?? Desperately trying to root this phone. Thanks.

Here is an instruction how to install Play Store (and Play Services) on Chinese version of Nokia N1

This was successfully done by me on A5CN507 build. IMO it should work the same good on other versions of Lollipop, but I cannot promise anything.
Prerequisites
I assume that you have Intel Drivers up and running http://opensource.dell.com/releases...ition/FlashTool/IntelAndroidDrvSetup1.5.0.exe
I assume that you have adb/fastboot up and running http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317790
I assume that you have usb debugging enabled
I assume that yu have a basic knowledge how to use these tools
Installing GApps
Download GApps from this thread. I have used Nano version for Android 5.x, direct link here.
Copy it to your sdcard (any method is fine, but adb will do: adb push <filename> /sdcard/).
Download and extract IntelAndroid-FBRL-05-16-2015.7z.
Connect N1 via USB and run launcher.bat
Type ACCEPT (all capital) and select T4 method.
N1 should reboot and do a lot of things, then you should end up in temporary CWM Recovery session.
Choose install zip (volume up/down + power to select) and find and select the previously uploaded file.
After it finish reboot the tablet
Final fixes
After reboot you should have initial selection of Google Apps (including Play Store) installed. However Play Music will crash on start and GMail won't work (Play Services crashes). The reason for that is that GApps package is probably not fully prepared for x86 - but now you can simply fix it.
Go to ApkMirror and install Google Play services with -470 suffix, it is Lollipop x86 version (on the time of writing this the newest version was here ). Now both Play Music and GMail should work correctly.
An another issue is that Play Store reporting some apps (like Chrome, Google Maps, Google Earth, Chromecast, etc) as incompatible with the device. It probably could be fixed by hacking build.prop, however I haven't had time for it yet. The easiest method is to download them from ApkMirror and side install. Drawback is that you won't get autoupdates for them.

This really works! Thanks a lot.
After the installation, a few days later I found out that there was an update for N1. I could not make the update successfully. Probably the GAPP issue. So in the end, we still need the Taiwan ROM so far. So that the system update can also be made.

I installed GAPPS, but disabled root(in SuperSU's settings). I can run the OTA update (A5CN51C) successfully.
After the update, "google service is stopped" appears again. I think re-flush GAPPS and SuperSU is needed.

Hi Guys,
after the issue with the update I started replacing new files with the originals from the previous update. I've checked md5 of every file I used and compared it with update script from the new update - so I'm sure every file was correct. Actually everything was working fine with these original files.
However after the update I got a boot-loop. If I remember correctly it was something abt OpenGL in logcat. I was not able to run recovery by pressing volume up and power, but since adb was working I did it via adb. I came with an idea to clear user data. That was mistake!
Now I still have the boot-loop but developer mode was disabled by cleaning the data. My plan is to reflash with A5CN507 which contains a full system partition image. To do so I need to boot into recovery or download mode.
Do you guys have any ideas how to boot into recovery or download mode if volume up (and down) doesn't work?

Can confirm the boot loop. I was able to get into the CMW session again and tried to restore the backup I made before installing the gapps but CMW got stuck while restoring the system partition.

Your tablet bootloader is locked by the update. I've not found any ways to unlock it and install google play.

I tried that, it didn't work - it says "waiting for device", but it waits forever. As to the Fastboot Tethered recovery launcher, this time I used the one from Jul, 27, before I had an earlier version. Could it be that the older version would work, but not the latest one? It does recognize my device, but it says unauthorized, although it OEM-unlocked and USB debugging is authorized. Thanks for any help.

Since my N1 is still bricked, hung halfway through bootloading, I talked to an Android-Repair-shop. They said it cannot be unbricked, I would need a new motherboard... but motherboards for the N1 are not available.

so I came back to the problem today - and I managed to unbrick my device. Somehow (vol-up + power) I managed to enter fastboot. Then I rebooted into recovery and sideloaded a full update.zip with 701.
Now I'm trying to change Chinese version to Taiwanese one.

7. Turnoff the device
8. Go to droidboot (volume UP and POWER simultaneously).
9. Select "RECOVERY MODE" (moving to it by volume), and press the power button to confirm.
Wait for the installation of the firmware and you will be with 4.3.
Then proceed to the 4.4.2 via OTA MANUALLY .. and remember to turn off automatic downloading of firmware via WIFI .. (Settings-> INFO-> SYSTEM UPDATE -> the three dots in the upper right -> disable "Automatically download using Wi-Fi ")

hello i have k012_2 named fonepad 7 - TR SKU (no voice call capabilitiy - just 3g internet)
I know fonepad 7 has generally k012 code.
I tried every thing to change my SKU to WW or CN for making gsm calls but i failed.
Do you have suggestion for enabling call function?

This is a hardware limitation and there is not such a solution

But in Türkiye, there is a person that can make k012_2 phone call capability. Also he wants 30$ for this work. He doesnt share his secret. I dont want to give 30 box to him.

Very helpfull post. I was very much helped from your post. i use the items described in "how to optimize LOLLIPOP". For me it was very good someone to let me know wich app to be safely removed and wich can be freezed so the phone can work faster but without problems, so thank you for that list.
Second, 3C Toobox that you suggest is very powerfull as i saw and does alot of thinks others dont.
The App you are suggesting( Google,camera, FB, MX player) i have to report this
YOUTUBE, MX, GOOGLE CAMERA very easy downloaded and istalled and as you say they are very nice too.
Chrome and FB, allthough downloaded, was not able to install. Chrome cause the phone to reboot and nothing was installed. FB run the process succefully no in the end it says' app was not installed"

Don't use Adblocker on these sites
Remove chrome updates and do "clear data " and try links (if it does work remove entire chrome by 3C tool and install new version normally (not recommended !!! you may lose connection checking ability ) )
For FB I think there s no enough DPI but you can try.
For Google keyboard and Instagram try new links

yes i just check out and all links are working as mention above.
With adblocker disabled, there is no problem in the links. FB is actually DPI problem

Finally it's here! I'm waiting for this for one year. I will give you my feedback in the next week.

i 've been busy(tax season in my work) so i was not able to respond so far, but i wiil do so in next two days, i promise....

my comments about suggestions you made
As i have posted before, you have done a very good work, collecting all these tips and trick that really make our phone to work more smooth and fast. I followed all your suggestion and these are my observetions.
When i unistalled and freese all the apps and services you are suggesting, I noticed that the tablet is working 15-20% faster than before, so this is the first + for your project!
downloaded and tried to install all that you suggest. All are working very well except:
FB is not installing at all no matter what you do.( uninstall, clear data, reinstall it, etc)
Chrome i was not able to install x86, so i downloaded from Play and install new version. I am not fun of Chrome and for once again a realized how heavy load is this browser, i cant see why people are using it. XDA start page did 3 minutes to load, since Mozilla 10 seconds. Any way this is personal opinion .......
Instagramm cause me black screen on phone in the end of installation. I had to hold down power so the phone closes and restarting it. When came back Instagram is working very well !!!!
So the main problems are FB and Chrome for me.
I am using an APP I found here in XDA that compines FB - messenger -Twitter in on screen without heavy load phone you can give it a try if you want. The name is Slidechat and you can take it from Play for free

I hope i helped someone with these thought of mine.
The big value though are to ADBLOCKER effords who collected and tested all these things for us to find ready.

and nothing happens
when I start the device normally and connect it to PC it is detected fine and nothing is wrong.

I will try to show you step by step how to do it.

Requirement
Xiaomi Mi Flash ver. =>3-14-0 - Needed to install all adb drivers Download
ADB & Fastboot tools - Could be the one built into Mi Flash tool I'll use this to make it simple
Magisk =>24.2 - This software is base of our rooting process Download
SafetyNet Fix => 2.2.1 (Zygisk) - Needed to backdoor SafetyNet fail check, at the moment it is only working method for Mi Pad 5 Download Make sure you download the Zygisk version!
Boot.img - You can download from official MIUI website full flashable rom and separate boot.img file from there, or use my if your Miui version is China 13.0.5, EEA 13.0.3, Global 13.0.1

To make it easier, Green color mean what you need to do on Tablet, Orange on PC
Unzip Mi Flash tool
Open folder and run XiaoMiFlash.exe, if window "Driver" won't pop-up click on the Driver tab and then "Install" button and close all windows.
Connect your tablet to computer, when your tablet ask how you want use USB, choose File Transfer/Android Auto
Copy to internal storage Magisk-v****.apk, safetynet-fix-v****.zip and boot.img
Open File Manager on your tablet find a folder where you copied all files, and install Magisk
Open Magisk app, and click on Install in section Magisk, then select "Select and Path a File", after that find your boot.img file and click on it
Click "LET'S GO" button on the right side and wait until process will be finished
On your computer in the tablet's storage window, go to the file specified in the application probably /Download/magisk_patched-*****
Copy this file to a subfolder of Mi Flash on your computer, exactly to MiFlash2020-3-14-0\Source\ThirdParty\Google\Android and change the name of this file to boot.img
Open PowerShell/Windows Terminal in this folder (Hold Shift + Right click -> Open PowerShell window here)
Make sure your tablet have enabled USB debugging in Developer options Setting -> Additional settings -> Developer options -> USB debugging
Turn off your tablet, then hold down Power and VOL- until the screen lights up, then release power button, if Fastboot appears, everything went fine
Go back to your Terminal window and type to check if your computer see your tablet

If you see answer "******** fastboot" it mean there is communication between PC and Tablet
Next type this command to flash patched boot image

Next type this command to reboot your device

Restart can take a longer time than normal
Open Magisk app and check status of Magisk, if you see for exaple "Installed 24.2 (24200)" everything went fine
Open Settings in right corner of app and in section App click on Hide the Magisk app then type name for hidden app, it will ask to install new app so do it
Open again Magisk app and open Settings in section Magisk enable Zygisk (Beta) and Enforce DenyList
Click on Configure DenyList than click on three dots in right corner and uncheck Show system apps
Search for all the apps in the list below and check them. It is important to click on their name to see all modules, once you have done this click on the box to activate all of them

Google Assistant (I have two)
Google Pay
Google Play services
Google Play Store
After that reboot your tablet, and open again Magisk app
On the bottom click on Modules
Click on Install from storage button and find file safetynet-fix-v*******.zip, than click on it
After that reboot your device one more time
After reboot open Android Settings go to Apps and Unhide system services than find and clear all data of Google Play services and Google Play Store
Reboot tablet last time
If you have reached this point it means that everything has gone correctly, probably for about 3 hours you will still not be able to install Netflix and some banking applications but after this time everything will be back to normal, this is because Google's servers have detected that Magisk has been installed but that the application has been changed and Zygisk has been enabled so at the next check it notices that everything is Ok and gives access back.
Quick explaination what happend here:
Magisk has been installed and device is Rooted
The application has been changed and hidden
Zygisk has been activated and hidden from Google services
SafetyNet-fix was installed, which restores the functionality of SafetyNet and Widevine L1, which is blocked after the installation of Magisk and unlocked Bootloader

Hi Nux01,
1. Unfortunately yes, TWRP isn't supported for Pad 5 yet.
2. It won't work, TWRP app is only making a request to TWRP custom recovery, until it doesn't exist you can't even install custom ROM
3. It is, but i didn't test it yet on Pad 5, and I don't know if it will work with new decides because last release is from 20.07.2020.

4. Yes, you need Xiaomi account, also your device has to be logged in, and registered to unlock, Xiaomi made complete guide how to do this, link is on the top of this post.

I mean it's quite old release so it may not work with current unlock bootloader process on new devices like a Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi Pad 5 etc. I can't promise it won't brick your device, only confirmed method is by official Xiaomi tool.

Followed the instruction, worked like a charm. Although I had unknown "chinese sings" errors with the driver install it worked. By the way there is a newer version of the flashing tool.

I just managed to unlock the bootloader of my tablet "Pad 5".
I tried under Mac and Linux with Xiaomitool V2 without success (error 20036 and 20045).
I also tried with VirtualBox who did not recognize the tablet.
I succeeded with VMware and Windows 7 by testing different drivers and it worked.
I just root the tablet with Magisk.
On the other hand, is there the equivalent of TWRP to make a complete system backup. Apart from Titanium and MyBackup.

Can i update ota to 13.0.2 after rooted? Just update and root again?

You can update, but after that you need root again but with boot.img from 13.0.2

How to get the boot.img 13.0.2? I checked the 3GB Firmware and only found vendor_boot.img. Is it the same thing?

Never mind. I got the boot.img from here: https://miuirom.org/tablets/xiaomi-pad-5

Hey there.
I have done everything above and i MIGHT have some problem. The problem with my problem is that its not really reproducable easily even for me.... Weird, I know!
Lets go into details:
Issue description: When I reboot my tablet it goes into "MIUI Recovery" window, on which I am offered to reboot the device or clean.... And when I reboot it goes back to the recovery screen again. Like a loop-hole.
....
But then if I leave it untouched for several minutes it reboots itself and launches the system properly finally...
When did it start: It first started after I performed this step:
24. Click on Install from storage button and find file safetynet-fix-v*******.zip, than click on it
25. After that reboot your device one more time

When I finally landed in the system I of course continued and performed further steps. After another reboot in step 27 the same thing happened but much, much longer.
I thought it somehow self fixed and works - once I am in the system. Right? So I did a reboot to test it. And no... recovery screen again for another 20 or so minutes until finally MIUI loaded fully.
Now I am afraid to turn off / reboot my tablet... I am afraid it might never finish booting next time.
Any ideas whats wrong and how to fix this weird and irregular behaviour?
My details:
Device: Xiaomi Pad 5 6/256gb
Original system was Chinese. I have reinstalled to Global one a version ago.
MIUI version currently running: 13.0.3(RKXMIXM)
Android version: 11 RKQ1.200826.002
Magisk version: 25.1 (25100) (32)
Magisk Modules: Universal SafetyNet Fix v2.2.1 (yes I made sure to download around Zygisk section)
Anything else I shall provide?

I also have this module installed without problems, as there is no recovey for Pad5, it is a good idea to install in magisk the module Magisk Bootloop Protector, which serves exactly to prevent what you are afraid that happen with your tablet
