[Q] New Theater Mode, I was excited. Suggestions? - Moto 360

I was excited about this. Keeps the screen off unless I press the button! Cool! I didn't realize you lose notification vibrations too. Not so useful for me. Anyone know how to keep the screen off unless I press the button and keep my notification alert vibrations?

Then whats the point of keepign the screen off if you are just gonna turn the screen on to check it. You're at the movies, watch the movie.

I would like this feature too. During work or driving at night, I don't necessarily want the screen coming on all the time. But if I got a vibration, I could choose to check it, but if I was in the middle of something I could do it later. The point is, I want to use the theatre mode just to stop it from turning on when I don't want it too (ie making turns while driving)

I don't have the update yet, but can't you disable the wrist gesture new and keep always on screen to off to get what you're looking for?

What I wanted was for the screen to remain off but still have notifications. The screen would only come on if I pressed then button. If you disable wrist gesture that helps but I'd still like it to not come on for any reason without pressing the button.

Still need a vibrate and no screen mode

I need this while driving or in a movie theatre. Maybe it should be a separate feature setting for notifications like "only vibrate+no screen on". The theatre mode is cool but I still need an answer to the above use case which a setting would help too.

in the meantime, uncheck the "Mute connected phone" off, that way ur phone still vibrates

Yes. The new feature tilt to wake up on android wear. Just uncheck it. The screen will not come on unless u tap the screen or hit the button. But you will still receive notifications.

Pushing the button on the watch twice will also activate the theater mode without having to go into the settings.

i just tested this. FYI you have to be pretty deliberate with your button pushes. a quick push doesn't seem to work. you have to PUSH and then PUSH again. also three pushes enables sunlight mode.

Seems like this is were Priority mode kicks in. Set it to two hours and only get the important stuff.

There are some no-brainer options that still aren't available for Android Wear. I've had Sammy watches and now my Moto 360. While I can get away with wearing the Moto at work a little more than my Sammy watch, one option I really miss is simply disabling the tilt to wake option. My Sammy watch would light up when I had a notification, and stay off any other time. No need to worry about it coming on while driving, typing, or simply moving my arm (unless I got a notification). I would get 2+ days battery life out of it, and I work Production Support at my job. Constant notifications about tickets being opened, file transfers completing, etc. Some things about this OS still baffles me.

also, go in to "block app notifications" and choose apps to block if you're getting too many notifications. if you use your phone for work and are getting constant ticket updates, etc., create a rule in outlook to move those emails to another folder and then turn notifications off in the email client on your phone. that will reduce the volume of notifications.
i only receive notifications on my primary inbox. since returning from lunch, i have 40+ emails in my other folders and only 6 came in through my primary inbox.

Yep - Outlook rules in full effect - I send priority notifications via key words in the subject, sender, etc (files failing to decrypt, not received, ticket opened, etc) as a text. The rest get filtered into each client's folder. Good advice, thankfully I'm doing that already, haha.
Thanks again for the help.

Can you please tell me if it's something device-specific or maybe Android-version-specific? I have Android 5.0.2 on the phone and Sony Smartwatch 3 (with Wear 5.1.1 on it), and the Blocked App Notifications activity in my Android Wear application is empty, i.e. it doesn't include the options on the screenshot.
Ok, found it. It's currently available when you tap the device name on Android Wear app's main activity.

Keep screen on when connected to power & playing music, and an easy way to skip song?
When in the car listening to music (stock app, purple icon with white musical note in circle), and connected to power, I'd like to have the screen stay on and not time out. I want to do this for this particular app, and nothing else (at this time).
I went into the settings but cannot find anything that will allow this in conjuction with the music app. Am I missing something?
On a similar note...does the screen stay on when using the Maps app as a navigation device
I guess I can use "Screen On", by Konstantinos Polychronis, but figured maybe there was something built-in that I missed.
I'd also like to find something similar to what Apple has where when playing music all I had to do was shake the phone and it would skip to the next song.
The "Screen On" would be used for when mounted to a windshield mount, and the "shake" would be for when the phone sits on the console next to my seat.
idk about the shake thing, but i know under the development settings u can turn on stay awake when plugged in. if u leave it hooked to ur car charger then it will stay on always unless u turn the screen off. screen still dims tho, just not off. as for the gps yeah if i remember right the screen stays on at all times but still dims as long as its the app on screen, doesnt do it if its just running in the background i believe. i dont use the gps without the charger much cuz i only use it on long drives and dont want a dead phone from gps, screen, and bluetooth all running (use my phone for my music in my car)

Don't think that will work for me. I'd like to have the screen stay on, and bright, while listening to music while plugged into power.
If the gps app is the front app then it lights up when its coming up on a turn or any kind of new directions so u don't miss it. I havent seen any apps but I know u can just turn off the screen timeout and ur just have to remember to set it back to whatever ur normal timeout is
Have you tried any automation apps like Tasker or Llama? Llama is free and can do a lot while Tasker is a bit more pricy (you can get a trial version of it if you want to try it for free), but it has a crazy amount of things you can do, including making widgets and standalone apps. I used Llama for quite some time, but then decided to get Tasker and haven't looked back. Both are great apps and take a little time getting used to (Tasker specifically is a bit more cumbersome if you are new to it).
I'm not sure about Llama, but I know Tasker can detect shake and gesture events. You could use that to trigger your skip track action. I would be happy to help if you aren't sure how to do something, but there's plenty of documentation on both these (and I'm sure other apps could do this as well).
PowerAMP has this exact feature, and is far superior to any stock music app. Well worth the price.

Just downloader the PowerAMP trial. Seems to be very complete and highly rated.:good:
I may try Llama or Tasker to get the shake function. Still trying to decide whether to windshield mount or just lay it on the console. If I go windshield, shake feature will not be needed.
Thanks!
I would go with a mount that keeps it in your LoS. Picking up the phone and manipulating it while driving is dangerous.
I have a custom-built mount bolted to my dashboard just to the right of my steering wheel. It puts the phone almost, but not quite in my peripheral vision, and my right hand only has to move about 4 inches from the wheel to the screen to change tracks or answer calls hands-free.

Pictures????
I ended up using jetAudio Basic, as Poweramp would not keep the screen on. Didn't make a difference how I had it set. The app was on but the screen was dimmed. Jetaudio kept the screen on bright, and also allows shake-to-shuffle to change tracks, which I also wanted.
That's odd about PowerAMP letting the screen dim. Mine never does, not on any phone I've used it on, see sig.
The mount, it's holding my old 4G Slide in this pic, this was back when I first put it in.

[Tasker] Share your profiles

I just started using Tasker, and thought I would create a thread for us Verizon HTC One users to share profiles and such and help each other out.
So far, I have only setup a basic profile with Tasker to silence my phone(and set to vibrate) and turn data off. I leave the radio on in-case my wife needs to get a hold of me. This is based on the day of the week, and time of day, and location conditions. After the time period is over, or location changes, it automatically reverses these changes, taking the phone out of silent mode and turning data back on.
What do you use Tasker for? Share your profiles and tasks here.
I'll upload mine at a later time because I'm super busy atm(but not too busy to post apparently). But here is what mine does that you can look into for making your life a little easier.
Profiles --------------
Record Data State: Set a variable on/off when mobile data is enabled or disabled but only when the screen is on. Additionally only after the screen has been on for 2 seconds. This fixes some issues with phones that sleep mobile data thus making Tasker think you manually disabled mobile data. This profile is used in relation to the auto data on/off which I will get to later.
Apps - Enable GPS: A simple profile that turns on the gps for gps related things like maps, location based games. I increased the application check to 9999 for battery sake and also only run this profile while screen is on. When profile becomes disabled perform a delayed task of turning off the gps(I do 1 minute).
Screen Off Data Management: When you turn the screen off wait 2 minutes to turn off mobile data and 7 till wifi. This also enables a routine that enables mobile data briefly every hour.
Screen On: Re-enable data connections, see received text profile as well
Time from ~nighttime to early morning: Disable all volumes while leaving ringer low. Obvious reasons....
State> bluetooth connected (exit task only): Wait 1 minute, disable bluetooth if no device is connected. This is tied in to the next two profiles, it will auto disable your bluetooth 1 minute after you disconnect a bluetooth device.
Phone ringing enable bluetooth: turn on bluetooth if your phone is ringing...
phone call placed - enable bluetooth: see above....
phone idle - disable bluetooth: turn off bluetooth ONLY if a bluetooth device is not connected. the "state> bluetooth connected" exit task will automatically disable bluetooth briefly after it's no longer in use. This prevents bluetooth from automatically disabling on dropped calls.
on some devices you can use "Call Any*" to handle the previous 3 profiles.
Received Text: this seems broke in most scenarios but it was intended to set a variable of when the text was received and not enable mobile data when screen is turned on for x seconds. this would prevent pointless toggling of mobile data.
Those are all of my power saving profiles. As said before I'll upload the scripts later because man, they're a doozy to write to get them all to work together.
Thanks for sharing some power saving ideas. I just added some more, still haven't had a whole lot of time to get into complex stuff...
Have a profile for location, time, and date to set my phone to vibrate if I am at work.
Added a simple one for a text to my wife if my battery is below 10 percent.
Loving this app already, looking forward to see what other folks have done.
EDIT:
Ok, so I added another profile for taking a photo and emailing to me if the lock screen is entered incorrectly after a certain number of times. However, I can not get this to work. I do not get any errors, but I don't actually receive the email message. Here is what I did, found in another thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=40341626&postcount=734
Anyone have any thoughts?
EDIT 2:
I figured out part of the problem - it will not work with Python 3, you must use 2.x.x (I'm using 2.6.2 from https://code.google.com/p/python-fo...etail?name=PythonForAndroid-r7b1.apk&can=2&q=)
So now I am receiving the email message with GPS location, but no picture attachment, probably a typo on my part...
EDIT 3:
so, for the attachment path on the photo, I have tried the following with no success:
/sdcard/DCIM/Tasker/%PHOTONUMBER.jpg
/sdcard0/DCIM/Tasker/%PHOTONUMBER.jpg

Tasker is broke in quite a lot of areas. It seems to work better with custom ROMs but the stock HTC One ROM is just terrible. I think the developer of Tasker got lazy and stopped fixing things. Not meant as an insult to them, but I never see updates.
I haven't had much time to mess with this the past few days, anyone have any insight on why I am not receiving the picture attachment in the email?
I am just picking this app up so I really have little idea what I'm doing but so far i have:
- When display off - wait 10 minutes then turn off WiFi, Data, and Auto Sync (Poff)
- When display on - wait 2 seconds and turn WiFi, Data, and Auto Sync on (Pon)
- Periodic Data Check - From 7am to 11pm every 30 minutes while the display state is off, run task 'Pon', wait 3 minutes, then run task 'Poff' (Pperiodic) [Set to keep awake during this task]
- Run music - When headphones are plugged in, start my music app of choice (Headset)
These are VERY simple and VERY simply configured. I've seen some really crazy Tasks where it checks the network usage and if it's below 15 kbs.... Yeah that's too cray for me and honestly I don't care if Weather is updating when my screen is off.
I was inspired to do this because I switched from Sense to AOSP and now I don't have the PowerSaver functionality that Sense has. I feel this is a good (configurable) alternative.
Let me know if you want the specifics about these profiles and I'll gladly share them
ADD:
One thing I would like to do is change it so instead of "Screen off" it's something like "Sleeping" because if i'm listening to music and have the phone active i'd like data to be on. Is this something I'd have to set up with a custom variable? Have something like $SLEEP defined and have some logic that says IF *phone is awake* THEN SET $SLEEP to 0. Then just add the conditional in front of the 'Poff'? Sounds about right but what would the "*phone is awake*" be?

I'm interested in how you set these two up. I have something similar but I'm getting inconsistent results..
I used to have a lot of profiles but I dont use it really anymore since I get good battery life. If I ever start back I will add some as I think them up.
At 10:30pm, tasker disables the green and orange notification lights because they're so stinking bright. It also turns off the capacity buttons backlight and starts Screen Filter at 25%.
It reverses everything the next morning at 8.

It is an app. You can get it here https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.dinglisch.android.taskerm
When you open it, it will give you a tutorial page to help you learn it. If you want any of the functions that you've read above, just quote the author and we'll give you the tasker profile.
I've got mine set up to save a little battery:
-screen off: wait 10 minutes and then disable WiFi, mobile data, and auto sync
-every 30 min when screen off: reenable WiFi, data, and sync for 2 minutes
-screen on: reenable connectivity
-MMS received: turn screen on for 5sec (so that connectivity will be reenabled, and it can download the MMS message)

I once used the screen filter technique as well, it's handy for not blinding yourself at night.
I attached my script in this post. Most of the actions within it are commented but here is a brief list of what it does.
Enables Bluetooth automatically any time your dialer is in use, such as: making call, getting call, in call. Bluetooth will automatically disable 1 minute after your Bluetooth device is disconnected. This is to prevent immediate disconnects with accidental drops from Bluetooth devices.
Records when you manually enable or disable both WiFi and Cellular data. If you are to disable Cellular data the script won't do interval checks and won't automatically turn on cellular data. The same applies to WiFi.
Enables GPS and increases screen on duration when certain apps are open. Used for Navigation, or GPS related games. This also has protection against immediate disconnects when the apps are temporarily closed.
Automatically disables WiFi and Cellular data x minutes after the screen is turned off, and will periodically briefly enable cellular data. Data will automatically enable when you turn your screen on. Data won't disable if the phone is charging and is not night time.
Night Time will automatically lower sound volumes and disable periodic cellular data cycles,
That's pretty much it! Very simple but helps a ton, especially on devices with weak batteries. Other things to consider is enabling a screen filter if Night Time and brightness sensor is minimum, and perhaps delaying how fast cellular data turns on if your screen is coming on shortly after a text.
Be sure to run the 'Run Once' task as it initiates a few variables.
IMPORTANT: There was one minor thing I fixed after uploading this script. You must make another profile 'On Device Boot' and have the task Set Variable 'LastWifiCheck' to 0. I'll upload another with this fix when I get a chance.
Thanks everyone for the contributions here, keep them coming
thanks

Anyone have any experience getting Tasker to stop HTC Car & disable car mode? My goal is to have Tasker start up Car and Pandora when my Bluetooth device is detected (which it does properly) and then as an exit task, kill Car & Pandora. Right now I have this in one context but I could split it up I think. Tasker seems to have a hard time stopping Car though. Any ideas?

I don't have any experience with this specifically, but you may want to try a plugin that works with Tasker, such as Secure Settings. I don't know if that will work, but there may be another plugin that will. Hope that was at least somewhat helpful.

I had the same problem. You may want to try a free app, in the app store, called Trigger. It's similar to Tasker, but offers an option under the Travel section to enable/disable Car Mode.
Can anyone get this to work with Google's "Contacts' birthdays and events" calendar?
All I want for Christmas is for my phone to remind me that a birthday is today using Tasker. No guide works for me, nor any amount of time spent trying to get it to work myself.

New Features Requested

Hey guys.
I just contacted Motorola to request some new features be added to the stock ROM (which in my opinion) would be crucial to increasing the functionality and battery levels of the watch.
Don't know if any Motorola Dev's/Engineers are following this site but just in case, I'd love to have these features asap.
Please add more if there is anything I have missed.
1. Have the ability to turn Vibrate OFF while still receiving notifications on the watch
Why ? Because I have my phone in my pocket constantly, and my phone vibrates when a new notification comes up. I dont need my pocket and my wrist vibrating together.
Also, Increase battery life.
2. Need to have the ability to turn off notifications for certain apps. For Example, I want the watch to vibrate when an SMS or Email comes through, but turned off for Messenger, kik, and everything else.
Also, by having this feature, Im sure a developer could write up a small app to install onto the phone which would tell the watch which notifications to vibrate for, and which to just display on the screen.
And again, this will save battery life by turning the vibrate motor off for (in my case) 90% of the notifications coming through.
3. Have a slider to control the level of vibration or the burst of vibration.
Why ? This adds a level of customization to the watch.
Also, I see people complaining that the watch doesn't vibrate enough while in my case, its vibration time is too long. By having the ability to shortening the vibrate time, you also save battery life (if not by much).
By having all 3 features embedded into the ROM, On the average user, it should increase battery life by almost double (if not more).

By having all 3 features embedded into the ROM, On the average user, it should increase battery life by almost double (if not more).

Pretty neat ideas. I have one id like to add lol. I want to be able to turn off motion detection for the screen. I had this feature on my galaxy gear and it gave me an day and half EXTRA battery with it turned off. We could get similar battery life (3-4 days with average use, custom rom too) if this was disabled. I had to always press the button to turn the screen on to check the time, but notifications still lit the screen up when they came in. Totally worth an extra 24-36 hours of battery . However i like the idea of being able to tap the screen to wake the moto360.
So basically I want motion detection disabled but leave tap to wake on.
Can't you turn off notifications for certain apps in the Android Wear app (mute apps)?

Im not talking about turning off notifications all together.
I was talking about turning off the vibration for certain apps, but still having the notifications pushed to the Moto360 display.
Number 2 can already be done you can go to the Android Wear App in Setting Click Block App Notification then Pick Whatever App u want to mute

I like this idea because sometimes it's hard getting the watch to light up with motion, so turning off that feature for when it does work would be fine.
In my case, I have the phone vibration turned off and rely on the watch to deliver notifications.
My one and only important feature request is the ability to create my own canned response list.
Of course, official support for 3rd party keyboards would be nice as well.
Bluetooth LE Peripheral Mode
I'm not sure if they intend to include Bluetooth LE Peripheral Mode in their Lollipop release. Google chose not to include peripheral mode for the Nexus 5 and Nexus 7, although it is included with the newer Nexus 6 and 9. But for Android Wear, Peripheral Mode would enable a huge number of new and useful apps, that would significantly improve the usefulness of the watch. The simplest one would be a beacon to help you find your watch when you forgot where you left it, but enabling service solicitation would open a whole new world of applications for the watch.
#1 has worked since day one.
I get a notification, my phone remains silent, the watch vibrates. It's in the AW app settings.
according to me, since the watch has a inbuilt mic, a feature can be added that when someone calls, answer from the watch, just speak that you'll call back later & disconnect. this will be helpful if you are driving... no need to pick the phone ...

Good list, I have one more. Allow the setting of alarms for only certain days. For example, I would like to be able to set an alarm at 7 PM that goes off only on weekdays and not weekends, as I use this to let me know when I can get into the car pool lane when I am driving back home from work. That alarm is useless on the weekend, so no need for it to be turned on every day.

I am still wondering which watch support Bluetooth peripheral?
As I know LG G watch 5.0.1 do not support it.
if (mBluetoothAdapter.isMultipleAdvertisementSupported()) {
will return false.
on mine the whole notification thing is messed up..
sometimes it will vibrate and pop up when i get a text or email.. but then sometimes it doesnt do anything at all.
hardly ever, does it vibrate when i get a fb IM.. but it pops up and the screen lights up.
maybe they should fix it first before adding anything.

Pretty sure vibration is app dependent. Example, 8sms. You can change the vibration length in the settings. If you set your phone to 1000ms vibration when you get a text your phone AND watch will vibrate for 1000ms(or whatever vibration pattern you set) To further my point I would NEVER feel the vibration of Snapchat updates because it was so short. I'm using xposed(gravity box) to change snapchats vibration length and I feel the notification on my watch and phone every time.
I agree 100% google should have a universal setting to be able to change vibration, notification, and screen light up settings.

I have.

Well so far 5.0.1 sucks IMHO - notifications stop working.

I have had 5.0.1 for a week now, both versions. It runs pretty smooth overall and I get great battery life. However every day I have had it it will just stop giving notifications at some point. It shows connected, I can update watch faces etc but I get no notifications of any kind. As an experiment I removed all 3rd party apps other then Moto Connect. So far it has made no difference. I have tried restarting the Android Wear app on my phone and rebooting the phone, neither made any difference. The only fix is to restart the watch. I am using the newest version of Android Wear on my phone which is a 2014 Moto X running 4.4.4. I have fully reset the Moto 360 several times, it still does it after a number of hours running, quite possibly after receiving a few notifications in rapid succession.
So with that said I wish I could go back to 4.4 as for me 5.0.1 sucks!
I just wanted to report the exact same problem.. my notifications disappear after i receive several whatsapp messages in rapid succession!
this wasn't before the update
huh I don't seem to be having theses problems but I will try to pay more attention to it. I'am running 5.0.1 on my Nexus 5 though also not sure if it makes any difference.
When the problem occurs all notifications stop, so it should be pretty easy to detect. I have seen a few other reports of the same problem on other sites so I know it isn't just me but if it was everyone I think I'd see more posted about it.
So, I hardcore derped and realised that the watch syncs notification mode with your phone. I didn't realise this and thought I wasn't getting notifications but saw them when I swipe down on my watch. Might anyone else be having the same derp?

I don't have lollipop on my watch yet but don't beat yourself up about missing this. Google got rid of silence mode so I know for myself I use priority mode as silent. But if you do that your watch won't get notifications so then its like what is the point. I want my watch to vibrate and have my phone be silent I don't understand why they would change that.
I haven't received the update yet, when I look for it manually, it just says system is up to date... well, I'm kinda glad I didn't get it yet since you guys are having issues

I have this problem too...I have to restart the watch when they stop working. I thought it was fixed after the second update but it seems that it still does it
Notifications are the only real use for this watch. Now I have a useless piece of metal on my wrist. Luckily it looks good.

did you tried the turn on the option mute connected phone in android wear application and leave the phone notifications in "All" mode?
I'm having the same problem today for the first time. I have an HTC One M8 running kitkat so it's not an issue with Lollipop "priority mode." I am not getting any vibration on my watch when receiving notifications on my phone. I have tried both mute connected phone on and off to no avail.
Restarting the watch fixes the issue. The only guess I have is that something hangs when the watch is put in and out of theater mode, as I have been using Theater mode on my drive in to work.
i don't have this problem but for those that are having the issue, how are you "turning your watch off"? are you allowing the screen to timeout or are you pressing the button?
i've found that a single press of the button does not immediately turn the face off like it used to. this is because there are new shortcuts with the button to perform different tasks.
1 press = turn face off
2 press = enter theater mode
3 press = enter sunlight mode
theater mode will turn notifications off. so if you are expecting the watch to turn off after first press and you press it again, you're entering theater mode. you should technically see a mute icon in the center of your display and you can check the new settings menu for the option.
again this is just a thought as I don't have these issues.
I don't turn my watch off at all. It goes in the charger every night and on my wrist during the day. At some point with no warning I just won't get notifications anymore. It happened three times yesterday - often enough it can't be trusted at all.
I personally wouldn't say they have stopped working, but i have had to restart a few times a day, so yeah that's lame.

Interesting but this can't be it because theater mode changes the watch screen behavior and would be noticeable. Also a small icon appears on screen in theater mode..
I suspect that certain types of notifications may crash the notification handling service on the watch.
I am having same issues after getting the update last night. Randomly wont get any notifications and a reboot temporarily fixes it. also when i do get email notifications i cannot delete the email from watch. watch will say "Sorry, that didnt work"
Pull down twice on the watch
Hi,
I'm still waiting for my update but I did see this youtube video that covered the new features of 5.0.1 and it may have info that can help. Android Wear "Lollipop" First Look and Tour! start at around 1:05 to see the notifications features.
If you pull down a second time on the window you can set you notifications to None, Priority or All.
Cheers!
That is great info, but clearly the reviewer was running a beta build or something because I have no such option. I have only mute on/off. The only other possibility I can think of is that the additional features are only enabled when running a phone with Lollipop on it. I am stuck on 4.4.4 for a little longer.
So does anyone have those options?
nope. this isn't an option.
I just got my update.
The Notifications priority from the video is the first card of the pull down. Tap to switch between None. Priority or All.

So very strange, I only have mute on/off. It must be related to the OS on the connected phone.

Lg G4 double tap and glance view not working.

As the topic says, the glance view and double tap stopped working after shutting down there phone and leaving it in charge. Turned back on noticed that some features like glance view, double tap to wake up, vibrate on tap wouldn't work. Fixes vibrate on tap by turning off and on again, recalibrated phone still the glance view and double tap to wake up isn't working with screen time out being 1 minute and it dims and turns off in seconds.
Any one know this problem or a fix may be. Kindly put your effort and thoughts I to the topic thank you.

Thanks, it worked. The knock code was turned off.
I have no idea what went wrong.
I just noticed that even my time is in 24 hour format. I never set it that way. Surely something went wrong.

That was really helpful. But my problem is wierd. But first is there a away to turn Glance view off or on. My problem is it doesnt respond to knockOn while screen is off. But what I noticed it sometimes catches some swipes or touches to turn the screen on. No Glance view niether knockOn is working like supposed to. I already did a reset. I did removed the screen protector and case and restart still no luck. Please any idea. It used to work till a couple a weeks when I changed my UI launcher to pixle launcher. So i thought it was the problem but after reset no luck.
One more thing which is the most annoying . I used to unlock my phone using knockcode while screen was off. Now every thing went to a disaster. I also tried contacting LG they want me to send it for repair And I cant just live without a phone.
After disabiling knockon. It still wake up by touching it or swiping down. It doesnt change its behavior. But what I noticed is covering th front sensors does stop it from waking .
Update: After testing. I noticed the problem. When I double tap for knockon. It takes 2 to 5 seconds for the screen to respond and turn on. Glance view same behavior but still hard to get it right I have to touch and hold and wait then swipe down and wait. But what didnt even work knock code while sleep. Anyways the delay in respond is really bad. It never took that long.

Did you find a solution for this problem, my phone is behaving the same as yours and i even had it send to the service at lg but it came back the same, they said thet they change the motherboard in the phone.
I noticed that if i change my knock knock code to a pattern or just not useing a double tap in the code (just a single tap on every square) it enables the double tap to wake but still w/ a problem.... the glance dosen't work but if i touch the screen just once it truns on wich is very annoying because it turns the screen on in my pocket and ther it gose the battery.
I'm very sorry for my bad english.

I have exactly what you have. To stop the phone waking itself in your pocket, I disabled KnockOn. This means we can't double tap to wake but it's better than a dead battery. Scroll up as someone has shown steps on how to enable/disable this.
