Download and flash supersu from here
Remember, you need to have a custom recovery like CWM or TWRP to be able to flash this

Is the phone rooted as well? Have you made any other modifications to the phone?
the update wont flash through twrp since its a custom recovery. (thats what I know)
anyways, assuming that you have your bootloader unlocked and a custom recovery installed, why dont you just do a backup of ur current rom and flash a new custom rom like viper or insert coin. they provide the latest updates.

You're getting different advice cause you're double-posting and not sticking to one person's advice
Me and most people do have life's families & jobs we just don't sit here to help people out as I have mentioned before I give you loads of information to help you and as so as other me members. We all wasn't born to know how to root and unlock bootloaders or get s-off some people know more and they write great information on how to do it now go and use Google and the search function what is implemented into xda to stop multiple posts.

[Q] Upgrading to ZVC From ZVA Rooted

Hello,
I have a G2 Running Stock LS980ZVA Kernel Version 3.4.0. Now I rooted the stock ROM and now got a notification to update the ROM to ZVC.
Now my dilemma is do I "Restart and Install" this update or not. Will this brick my phone?
I have TWRP running as the custom recovery. What should I be doing? I tried to search for a similar thread but couldn't find one.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thank you!
You will brick. Either hold your finger on the notification and then click app data. Click on the show notification. No check mark. Notification will go away.
Regular reboot will not install the update.
If you unroot and put regular recovery back. Then you could.

I had the OTA downloaded but when i tried installing it, it did not install completely. Phone restarted and is still on 4.2.2 . Everything works as normal though, as I have been prompted 3 times to install the update.

okay, i did some research and found that it is safe to install OTAs but if youre rooted youll lose the root and unlock will still stay.
best imo, is you upgrade to 4.4.2 and root again with custom recovery and install a nice ROM.

If i were you, i'd get back on stock recovery with a mod that remove the oppo zip signature verification !
I don't know if it's possible to update by staying with twrp

Correct. No official updates with TWRP as your recovery. Only stock can flash those. I saw somewhere in the forums that someone has a modified TWRP (unofficial) that can do so. You might want to look for that to see if exists.
research
Hello!
thank you for your feedback, I continued my research and if I find I share with you,

[Q] lollipop root?

I just updated my lg g3 to android 5.0 via OTA. I've been trying to find out how to root it, but all I can find online is to install UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.37.zip in the recovery mode and it seems to need TWRP which I don't have. When I tried to flash UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.37.zip via adb, I got messages saying signature verification failed. I'm wondering anyone here has successfully rooted lollipop on LG G3 here? Thanks.
You cant root it.
If you want root you will have to revert back to Kitkat, root it and then flash prerooted Lollipop.
As the about guy said, I've done the OTA update (I know stupid move!!) but is there a guide to reverting back? as the above post indicates...
Thanks in advance

D851 Stuck on KK 4.4.2. Need help upgrading to latest version of stock android.

As per title I'm stuck with T-Mobile on the Android KitKat 4.4.2 version. I have root, TWRP, Bootloader is unlocked, and I know how to use backup apps such as Titanium.(thank you guides)
What I'm trying to do is upgrade to the latest version of stock Android without losing root, apps and TWRP. Is there a way to do something like this?
Sorry if this is a newbie question. Thanks to anyone who helps me out in advanced!

yes it's very easy if you already have root and twrp. Download the latest updated rom you want and flash the bootstrap 1st then the rom. There's roms that already have root access so it's even easier
I have a very vague understanding how any of this works. I managed to get this far thanks to everyone who helped make the tutorials I used to make it to were I am now.
What exactly is a bootstrap?
Same for the ROM Would it be easier to aquire an OTA with root so I wouldn't have to go through all the time and effort that Titanium backups take? Or would I still lose all my apps? I'm trying to do this the as hassle free as possible. If the OTA suggestion is not an option, where would I find a rooted stock Android Marshmallow ROM(if such exists)? Or would I not be able to jump from KK to MM?..
Thanks for your reply! and again sorry for being a complete script kiddie
