[Q] Phone keeps rebooting after root attempt - T-Mobile HTC One (M8)

I got this phone from a guy who didn't really know what he was doing. He attempted to root and now it will boot to the stock rom, and after a few minutes, it'll reboot. Trying to go into the SuperSU app will cause an immediate reboot.
I'm not familiar with HTC phones but here's what I get when I boot to HBOOT.

There is TWRP on here and going into it once has made the phone switch between it and the normal battery screen it has when it's powered down and charging. I also get a warning that "This build is for development purposes only. Do not distribute outside of HTC without HTC's written permission. Failure to comply may lead to legal action."
How can I get this to working order? I plan on getting it to stock and then rooting it and putting it on the GPE rom to get Lollipop.

How did I get here?
I HTC unlocked and rooted way back in December and went to Virtuous Affinity. Everything has been fine until yesterday when I wanted to go to Condemned CM7. The flash didn't work so I returned to Virtuous Affinity. No problem so far.
This morning I figured I should start the process of trying to get S-OFF. The tacoroot seemed the most direct. Upon reading I saw the warning about doing this while htc unlocked. I relocked and here I am unable to do anything.
I have tried unlocking again (still have .bin), flashing recovery, and even flashing a signed RUU. Any flash operation results in a FAILED (remote: signature verify fail).
What do I need to do?
You don't have 6.*** firmware, so you need to follow the thread about downgrading .98 bootloader only not about the thread with 6.*** firmware.

[Q] Totally stuck, please help!

Alright, so I've been tinkering around with my AT&T One X for a while but am very new to rooting. I was able to root my phone and install the CM10 rom after getting supercid but I didn't do a nandroid backup. I was also able to s-off my phone by following one of the guides here on the forum as well. What I have been trying to do now is installing a new rom - ARHD. When I try to install this rom through recovery (clockwork mod touch 6.0.x), it hangs at 30% extracting, and boots me back up on recovery.
I also wanted to see if I could bring my phone back to the stock htc rom, but when doing a: fastboot getvar version-main - nothing shows up so I'm not quite sure where to go from there. Is there something I'm missing here?
Here is what my bootloader screen looks like:

Does the phone not go past this screen?
Did you update the phone before this happened? It looks like someone's tampered with the phone and tried to relock it while running a custom operating system, in return the phone will throw a Security Warning.
Head over to www.htcdev.com and sign up, unlock bootloader.

Can't be, the bootloader is still originally locked, the flag on the bootloader should say relocked already if they did that. I think it's a issue with the battery as it seems very low looking at that message a bit down below.
Never advise people to unlock a "locked" bootloader because it could break potentially good warranty !

All very true, knowing how hboot firmware works; Security Warning seems to show up when the /system partitions been altered. But this seems new.
Here Katie, try to install this on your phone: http://androidruu.com/getdownload.p...Radio_5.1204.162.29_release_302015_signed.exe you will not require a bootloader unlock. You're going to have to run this using a computer, if you get "phone not detected" issues, install this: http://www.mediafire.com/?eqrqb44r3ot18g1
Good luck.

You can't mess with a system on a s-on hox without a unlocked bootloader or s-off, so it should say relocked in any way. Even if it was s-off, making an s-off hox back to locked and s-on will proper brick the device !
That ruu will not work. The device is s-on and has a hboot of 1.72 and you can t downgrade a hox that is s-on. That ruu contains a Hboot of 1.39.
@katie1
Save yourself the hassle and don't try the ruu, i already know the outcome. You have 3 choices
1: turn the phone off via the fastboot/bootloader menu, if it doesn't turn off or charge you can try the battery charge script via fastboot. Download the following file and place it in the fastboot folder on the pc and execute it with the phone in fastboot usb mode (bootloader)
https://www.dropbox.com/s/aaah8gqz8j024xz/Batt script.bat
It will continuously reboot the bootloader and charge the battery. It's worth to try......
2: claim your warranty at the seller (at least contact the seller about this issue because it can't be your fault at all)
3: unlock the bootloader via the HTC dev site (which may break your warranty) and flash a custom rom. But you need to get the device charged first, see #1
I would go for option #2 first

You already had an unlocked bootloader so unlock it and flash a custom recovery, from there you follow procedures to install a new rom.

HTC One M8 wiped completely - Need help getting back to stock - Noob guide

Hi,
My HTC won't load up at all I bought it with Venom on it and have somehow managed to wipe everything. It only comes up with the three droids at the bottom and hboot, ramdump, reboot, reboot fastboot, power down.

Fastboot USB is enabled. Not a clue how to solve this if you would help me would be highly appreciated.
Google and follow an online guide on unlocking HTC bootloaders.
They literally made it extremely simple, there's no need for hacks, it's fully supported by HTC itself.
If you want more specific guides for your device check this out:
http://www.android.gs/unlock-htc-one-m8-bootloader/
Is custom recovery TWRP installed?
Did you wipe "system" within TWRP?
My recommendation would be to RUU back to full stock. Which will also properly update the firmware, which looks like it was not proper done; which is why OS number is red, and also that number (indicates Lollipop firmware - but red indicates there is an issue) does not correspond with the radio number (Kitkat radio).
If any actions are suggested after RUU, depends on whether you prefer to stay on stock, or want to flash Viper back onto the phone.

Htc one M8 error, S-ON

i was on whatsapp and next sec my HTC one M8 getting the attached error message ,,Software status modified ****Locked**** ***Security Warning****,, and is S-ON,too bad i cant add link with screenshot. I cannot factory reset or do anything with it, its just goes back to the screen below when i try any of the options. HTC Sync manager does not see the phone when its connected to the PC. I need to get it back working asap. Any advice?i need your help step by step..ive seen other posts here but nothing that i could understand, thats why i need your help for a begginer guy like me..thank you in advance
The screen you described is called bootloader. It signifies that you problem have some issue (corruption, error, etc.) that is preventing the Android OS from booting.
What does it say for OS number on the bootloader screen?
thank you for your reply.. i cant add a pic because i dont have posts but here is the screen:

Ok, great.
Try to flash the RUU as outlined in the following post: https://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/help/help-htc-one-m8-bricked-t3298412
Note, that you do not need to lock the bootloader (so disregard the first couple bold-type commands), since your bootloader is still locked (never unlocked to begin with).
Hopefully, the RUU will get the phone working again. Be aware that the RUU will wipe all user data on the phone, but I think you are past that point, anyway.
hey, first of all im sorry for late reply.. unfortunately im not home, and i cant test it,but as soon i get home, (next week), i will come with a reply back..thx for your help
for some reason i cant make it work.. downloaded the RUU (renamed to RUU) and the bootloader, then when to open bootloader it opens for a sec then it close..
