Downgrade 4.4.4 to 4.4.3 Procedure - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Can someone please provide me with step by step instructions on how to downgrade a Rogers Canada HTC One M8 running 4.4.4 to the previous version of 4.4.3 please. The phone is unlocked through HTC Dev, rooted and running TWRP. I don't care if I lose all my data, I am perfectly willing to start fresh.
Thank You.

Since I couldn't find a RUU exe for your variant, This link will point you to a TWRP Nandroid backup of 4.4.3 for ROGER001: https://mega.co.nz/#!dZBWnLjD!3p951Y_HW_ibCMeQanA7vIj0GDy1b3w4YJCO0RINhls
Simply restore this using TWRP custom recovery. You can flash the stock recovery if you wish by downloading the 4.4.3 OTA and extracting recovery.img.
Visit the thread here if you need more information how to restore it properly:

Thank you, that procedure worked and I am back to 4.4.3

RUU GPE to ARHD 10.2

I converted my HTC to GPE and didn't really like it that much as i thought so i have reverted my phone back to Sense using the method posted here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2733523. I want to install ARHD 10.2 on my phone but i don't know how to do that. I have tried flashing it but it seem that my firmware is 1.54.401.5. Can I upgrade my firmware to 2.22.1540.3 using this method:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2696282 then install ARHD.
Please provide me with some guideline
(using the latest version of viperone at the moment)
Yes.
I won't brick my phone by following the method in the link right? After flashing the firmware I can go straight to ARHD right?
Can someone please verify for me again that I would not brick my phone by doing this.

SDK API level - 6.25
Kernel vervion - 3.4.0-g222defb

Build Number 3.28.401.7 CL389838 release-keys
and is S-On
Can someone please help.
This is getting asked multiple times a day now.
You need to update your firmware.
go to your bootloader menu and figure out if that the firmware build number is the the same in the about phone in the setting menu
It happened to me too because I used more recent nandroid without updating my phone

3.28.401.7 is pretty new. It should work with 4.4.4. Strange issue IMO.
You cannot run a 4.4.4 rom. And without being s-off you cannot update your firmware... Yes you may have flashed a stock rom but not the stock rom you were on previously. You will ONLY be able to flash a rom with it looks like 4.4.2 or maybe 4.4.3.

Hint :
Fastboot getvar all
That says it all in a blink of an eye
Can someone please tell me like I'm a total idiot on how to fix this issue? I just put on a stock 4.4.4 with Telus cause it was the only nandroid available for Telus and I locked the bootloader again and made it S-ON. How do I fix my wifi now? I have to somehow unlock the bootloader again, get S-OFF and use a stock 4.4.3? THEN do a software update to 4.4.4?

The second link is the exact link I was following. The only nandroid for Telus is already 4.4.4 so that doesn't help me. I've unlocked my bootloader again and about to gain root so I guess I'll just flash a custom ROM again but I'd love if someone could actually tell me exactly what I'm missing here? If their isn't a stock Telus 4.4.3 I can't return to stock right?

Get S-OFF again and flash the firmware manually. Don't know why you went S-ON and locked in the first place. There is no reason to go back S-ON(Unless you're gonna exchange then it's a small maybe) and when it's S-OFF there is no reason to lock the bootloader.

I was following a tutorial on The Unlockr and he said to go back to S-ON so I listened. I'll definitely make sure to stay S-OFF from now on though so thank you! So how do I manually flash the firmware? I can't find a stock 4.4.3 on Telus anywhere...
EDIT: I'm now S-OFF again and I'm ready to go but I cannot find where to grab 4.4.3 stock with Telus. Would flashing a custom ROM that is on 4.4.3 fix my wifi too? I'm really confused by this whole thing like is Cyanogenmod 11 using 4.4.3 or is it it's own entity or?

Mike's guide
Another guide
Just flash the firmware for the latest 4.4.4 ROM that you have on there.
Grab the OTA file for Telus from OTA ZIP COLLECTION extract the OTA.zip to get the firmware.zip file inside it.

He updated the software, not the firmware.
He subsequently verified this by saying he restored a stock nandroid. But I was pretty sure of that already.

Neither of those will tell you the firmware number. You need to look at hboot and radio to know for sure.

Help! HTC ONE (M8) Downgrade~

I'm from Malaysia. I want to downgrade my Htc One (M8) from android 4.4.4 to 4.4.3
Software number : 3.32.707.9
Anyone has please upload it for me. Please and thank you. Your help will be appreciated.
use an older nandroid backup from the collection thread and restore it. flash back the stock recovery and perform the needed ota's to get to the desired version.
done....
Why are you trying to downgrade? You can't downgrade to s-off, if that is what you are trying to do (and the most common reason folks ask about "downgrading").
yeah defo needs to be s off or no chance of downgrading
My device is already S-off. I want to downgrade it due to temp root. :fingers-crossed:

Nandroid Backup Needed

Hello guys, does anyone have a 3.29.166.9 twrp backup? Or a m8 with cid-vodap110 so he or she can make a fresh nandroid backup so i can go back to stock. I tried x.x.161.x backups but they don't work with cid-vodap110. Vodap110 is specific cid for Swisscom ch. Thanks in advance
No one has it?
Why don't you contact the other guy that already updated to 4.xx.166.x
Ask him for system part only. Then you can use it to update by flashing firmware first.
(I have the firmware but no backup)
Are you running a rooted/modified stock ROM now ? If yes, you can backup that and upload for me.. I will try to fix the error.
If you're running a custom ROM, you can flash the updated firmware and then install a lollipop custom ROM ... this can be done too.

I'm running a 4.16.401.10 stock firmware, and it works great even if it's not for my cid,but i would like to have official ota and for that i need stock firmware. I contacted many users with .166 firmwares but no one want's to make a backup :/
You don't run 4.16.401.10 stock firmware but you run a stock 4.16.410.10 ROM.
You can flash your stock firmware 4.19.166.2 then run 4.16.401.10 .. at least you can have a lollipop firmware running a lollipop software.

Need to totally factory start my HTC ONE M8
Hi guys, i really hope you can help me here.
I have a HTC ONE M8. It is a UK version on EE carrier. the CID is ORANG001. in fast boot it is blank next to OS- (don't know if tyhat matters at this point) I have S-Off through SUNSHINE. I have no oringinal back up. I have tried flashing the recovery found in my OTA updtate and several others that say they should work in various other threads, all through ADB Fastboot says it sends and writes ok but has no effect.
I have unrooted, factory booted, and am at the end of my tether. EE will not replace the handset if it is tampered and i really dont want to have to pay for a totally new one.

Need help to return to stock

Hey guys I am currently rooted s-on, on twrp and I want to go back to stock because I want to get the newest ruu on marshmallow so I can use viper ROM which only supports the new firm wares. Any help?
You don't need to return to stock to RUU.
Relock the bootloader, fastboot flash the stock MM firmware 6.20.531.5 from here (instructions how to flash at the bottom of the post). Then the 6.20.531.5 RUU.
