Solid Rom for Sprint Note ii & FreedomPop? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II

Can anyone recommend a solid rom for this Note II that is solid stable with good performance?
I am an experienced romer but have just acquired this for a daughter and need to fully root, rom and restore. I know FreedomPop does not support this sprint phone yet but they say the will shortly.
Any guidance appreciated.

Any help appreciated.
I realize that I am on a stock 4.4.2 NE2 build of the Sprint Note 2. So it seems that I need to towelroot and the use a recovery. What recovery is best Philz based on CWM or is there a TWRP?
I am used to safestrap on the Verizon variant.
What good ROMs are compatible with NE2?

Okay sorry for being a noob.
Did more reading and thank fully Sprint did not lock the bootloader like Verizon!!! That is great.
Okay so looks like most roms will work.
Anyone willing to say what they like the best or something solid?
Thank you in advance.

You can flash any tmobile custom rom since the AT&T phone is unlocked.
Flashing a good custom rom will make the phone run a lot smoother, better
battery life, many extra features and it definitely will look a lot nicer.
I highly suggest to go with the Wicked v10 custom rom.
There is nothing else like it for the S3 at the present time.
It's the most professional custom rom which is available
for our phones here on XDA
Good luck!

New to the T-Mo Galaxy S4

Hey everyone!
I just paid the etf to get off Sprint (WORST SERVICE EVER), which also made me say goodbye to my Note 2.
I was just wondering if there was anything I should know about this device.
Any different from the Note 2? (Other than obvious differences).
Should I root?
Any good stock, debloated roms?
(Probably gonna get flamed from this question ^)
And anything else I should know.
Thanks in advance, i'm looking forward to messing with this device!

Rooting is really a personal decision....not everyone needs or wants root access.
That being said, if you decide root access and a custom recovery are for you, You'll really have to take a look at the S4 android dev section to decide which ROM meets your particular needs.
Welcome.
I also left Sprint 8 months ago after 14 years.
I couldn't complete over 85% of my phone calls. Forget about data.
I fought the etf and it was waived.
I ported to Verizon, but the data became too expensive. Paid the etf after porting to T-Mobile. The best deal of the 3.
Regarding your S4:
Root using CF-Auto-Root by Chainfire.
Flash a custom recovery. I use TWRP, but you have other good choices as well.
Flash Wifi tether and install a vpn. I see you inquired about that previously.
Install a custom ROM. There are some nice choices. I flashed Infamous S4 v2.6.1 which is running well.
There's call recording available if needed.
You can also flash ROMs for I9505 S4's, but be sure to flash a kernel made for the M919. You can flash the kernel after you flash the ROM in the same custom recovery session. Also make sure you have a Modem specifically for the M919.
And there's much much more but the above should put you on the right path

Thanks for all the info!
I rooted and installed the Wicked rom, it's working marvelously.
I got a wifi tether working, but I have no idea what "VPN" is.
I've seen it on a few threads but havent a clue as of what it is.

Here's some info about VPNs.
http://lifehacker.com/5940565/why-y...and-how-to-choose-the-best-one-for-your-needs
If you tether, you will see the data usage increase over tethering in your T-Mobile Account app. One of the ways you won't see the increase is to install a vpn. Your data usage will show an increase not not under tethering.
There are other excellent reasons to use a vpn also.
Here is an excellent reference written about vpn choices:

How can I use international roms on t-mobile note 3?

I'm using my T-mobile Jump tomorrow to get a Note 3. Of course, the first thing I'm going to do is: open the box, plug the phone in, then root it. I don't know much about this phone since I have been using an HTC One running Cyanogen Mod. So, My question is, what's the best way to unlock the Note 3's full potential? I.e: I see many root solutions, which do you prefer and why? By rooting and installing custom recovery (TWRP, CWM, ect), am I able to use ROMS on the International Samsung Galaxy Note 3 forums, or am I limited to T-Mobile only offerings? I wouldn't consider myself a NOOB, or a Dev, just an enthusiast who wants to help other enthusiasts, please leave your advice and experiences below.

First thing you need to do is to learn about KNOX, there are dozens of threads related to KNOX so
it's easy to find.
If your new phone is a NOTE 3 and you don't read up on the KNOX issue but simply go and root the
phone your warranty might be void afterwards.
You need to read up on the official 4.3 rom & the MK2 baseband which all new NOTE 3 phones have
before you root or flash any cwm/twrp flashable zip files including roms and kernels.
Once you decide what to do about the KNOX and still want to root your phone and flash custom roms
I would highly suggest to only flash roms in the Tmobile Note 3 forum, & only flash those roms which
are based on Tmobile 4.3 Jellybean Touchwiz firmwares.
Flashing any other roms will result in loosing the ability to use free tmobile wifi calling as well as loosing
most all of the bells and whistle which makes the NOTE 3 such a great phone.
In my experience with custom roms, the Wicked & Darthstalker roms are the only 2 that I would even consider flashing.
Do a lot of reading before you decide or do anything.
Good luck!
Vision X will work just fine, give it a look see also....

Yes, I flashed the Bobcat 3.0 rom too, and it looks like a Million Dollars, best LOOKING rom I have
ever seen... BUT unless the dev who created it can get himself a N900T Tmobile Note 3 phone to
test with, we will never have wifi calling if we flash the Bobcat International Note 3 rom.
I flashed it a few hours ago and am still debating with myself if I want to keep it or not. LOL
Hello!
I have a SM-N900T Baseband N900TUVUBMI7. But unfortunately, there is no Russian System language (not possible to enable it through the setting.)
I live in Russia, in this regard, I have a couple of questions:
1. Does the Russian language in international ROM?
2. What ROM you can recommend with support Russian system language and the maximum cut off apps from T-mobile and ather (consist only samsung apps)?
This "abundance" is useless for me.
I would be very grateful for the link to the thread of this ROM.
P.S.Sorry for the poor english.
Can i Flash 4.4.2 Leaked for SM-N9005 on SM-N900T?.
Hi, can i flash roms for sm-n9005 on my t-mobile note 3?? specially the leaked 4.4.2 kit kat? Thank you.

Here is the link for Bobcatrom v3 EVO XDA thread:

Here is the direct download link for Bobcatrom v3 EVO rom:
http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23269279319196459
After flashing this rom on a N900T Galaxy Note 3 phone you will not have
Wifi, Bluetooth or NFC until you flash this wifi-bluetooth-nfc-FIX.zip file.
So you need to flash the rom first, set it all up so it's working properly then
go back into cwm/twrp custom recovery and flash the fix file below:
http://downloadandroidrom.com/file/...en900T/Needed_Files_BT_WIFI_NFC_Flashable.zip
After you flash the fix file, wifi, bluetooth and nfc will all work fine.
Good luck!

Sure you can, you can flash the 4.4.2 kitkat but don't expect everything to work properly,
especially wifi, data and many other things in it still need fixing.
That's why it's called a "leak"..
Good luck!
Does N900T have Russian language as a system language? I intend to root the phone and install Language Enabler from the market. The app reveals hidden languages but before I proceed I'd like to make sure that the phone does have Russian (hidden in it).
Thank you.
Hi, I have similar problem as escudovod1972. Live in the UK and have the T-mobile version (SM-N900T) of the note 3. Would like to have Russian and Lithuanian languages but keep the phone as close to stock as possible.
Was wondering if I could achieve this, by flashing one of these:
"International SM-N9005 Galaxy Note 3 Stock Firmware"
Will I need to flash a T-Mobile kernel separately?
Also if this works, will I loose any functionality?
Any advice would be appreciated
Thanks

You can flash a unified rom aka hlte (more info: http://www.cyanogenmod.org/blog/unified-builds) like cyanogen, carbon rom(using this on my N3 Tmobile in UK just now), AOKP and many more(safe to say that all have Russian), if you like the AOSP/AOKP look. Or go for X-note or other touch wiz based unified roms.
Anyways, take a look here for more info and rom lists: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3#romList
Hope this helps

I have this rom at my site, I make all kinds of roms... made this just a while ago... just flash the rom, http://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=devices&uid=9390248398092763634
I try all the roms, before posting them, make a backup then flash the rom,,, N9005XXUENE3_hlte_Stock_Odex_Not_Rooted_NoKnox.zip
I would not advise flashing the firmware... your rooted, its safer just flashing the rom...
I just made a UK rom earlier today, using this one, I was using Singapore for the past 3 or 4 days... I like using the newest rom...

[Q] New to note 3 and unlocked bootloader please help

I just came from verizon Galaxy s5 rooted and switched to t mobile Galaxy Note 3. I want to root but I have some questions. Do I need to do anything with the kernel? What are the benefits to changing the kernel and which one is best? What is the best touchwiz and non touchwiz rom? I have never been able to use a non touchwiz rom so I think I would like to find the best most customizable rom for the note 3. What is the best way to root my note 3? Please be patient with me. Also what recovery do I use? I only know safestrap with busybox and supersu. Any help learning all the roms, mods, and things I will need to know about t mobile note 3 would be great. I want to be able to root, flash, mod and tweak as well with my new phone as I was with my previous phone. Thanks for your help

Can anyone enlighten my view on this phone?

Hello, name's Mike, have been in the android side for a while and it's my first time actually owning an US version of a phone, the N900T (T-Mobile Note 3) running 5.0 stock TW. (I don't live in the US)
So please, enlighten me!
ROOT AND RECOVERY
I have tried to root it and did it successfully, however when I tried to get a custom recovery on it, I only got boot loops so far, tried various tutorials, none of them have yet worked out for me.
CUSTOM ROMS
Are there any current custom rom development for this phone? I've seen lots of KK roms but I was looking to get a stable lollipop AOSP like rom like CM12 but without crashes or battery drain. Does anyone know any good roms that are stable?
PORTING
Also! How do you port a N9005 rom to a 900T? I've seen some methods by flashing a BT+Wifi fix or something like that but it seems outdated and I don't want to brick my phone just yet.
Please, please help me out, I am really out of it. Used to Custom rom on a Huawei U8650, Galaxy S2 and on my G2, but this is harder due to it being a carrier phone.
Thanks for your comprehension.
Did you download the right TWRP? Get the tar file and odin it.
https://dl.twrp.me/hltetmo/
Did you check the N900T development forum? There is quite a few to select from. I.E. Slim
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2638116
Sorry can't help you with porting.
