Hi Guys! I'm hoping someone can help me. I have a brand new Stock ROM G3, no root. For some reason it does not conect to my chromecast. It recognizes that it's there but it doesnt conect. Not only that but all the apps that would be able to cast, like Youtube, Pandora, etc. dont even show the cast icon on them. Has anyone encountered this issue before?

Has anyone had trouble getting sound on Chromecast? No matter what I do, I get video only. Any ideas?
I've been searching for a way to cast my phone screen to my Mac, and while there are bunch of apps out there that claim to do this, most of them fell short in quality and lagginess. I use AllCast to send movies to my AppleTV, Chromecast, and Samsung SmartTV at home (with no issues at all), and I can cast my screen to my Chromecast, but I wanted to be able to cast anything and everything that is happening on my phone on the PC.
Here is how I did it. I'd be interested to know if this works for anyone else, or if it is just a fluke on my end.
Step 1 - Go to screen.bbqdroid.org (sorry, I am a noob, so I can't post links... lame) and download their free client app for your OS (Mac, PC, Linux)
Step 2 - Find the IP address of your phone if you are connected via the same WIFI network, or on the same LAN/WAN as your Computer, and connect the client.
You do not have to download their EXPENSIVE remote control app... The client connect to the phone and just works.
This is currently working on my LG G3 (T-Mobile). I'll be testing this on a few other phones in the next little while and update the list with phones this works on, but I wanted to share it with you guys first.
Confirmed Working:
T-Mobile LG G3
Is the above at all possible? I've searched around for various options for what I'm looking to do and all avenues appear to have either been patched or I may possibly be on the wrong firmware.
Phone is a uk 855
Current FW is 4.4.2
The problem that I'm having is Chromecast while using my phone as a hotspot. I'm allowed to cast various apps, netflix, etc and they all work fine but what I can't do is cast the screen. This is very important to me as I'm trying to create a wireless connection in my car (As other users have done with different models).
On any of the google Nexus phones it's simply a matter of going to Settings>Display>Cast Screen. Is there a way of getting the G3 to do the same? A hack? A workaround? If there is, I can't find it so really need some guidance.
The issue I have is that Miracast disables the hotspot rather than using it and Chromecast just refuses to work without Wifi being on (which again would disable my hotspot). I simply want to connect my phone directly to the chromecast with no outside source of Wifi.
Apologies if I've missed anything important. I wasn't sure what information would be required.
Thanks
Updated to 5.0 and I still don't have the same options as the Nexus & Sony versions. Is there perhaps a custom firmware that I could use?
Sorry but I think no
Surprised to find a "No" with Android, a first for me
Hey guys,
i have a Mi 6 with unofficial RR running Oreo. When i install google home i cant see all my chromecast devices - even though thru YouTube app i am actually able to cast to all of them. Spotify however does not see them (but it does see other android devices having cast receiver installed).
At first i thought that my wifi setup might be messed up, but i tried an iPhone i had around and its working like a charm - seeing both Chromecasts and cast receiver devices.
I searched google and this forum, but couldnt find anything related.. - is anyone experiencing this kind of problem and do you have a solution?

Could be an issue with the rom.
