[Q] HTC One X. Stuck in a restart loop - HTC One X

I had my phone sitting on my desk, pressed the power button to check the time, and set it on the desk again. Suddenly, I felt it start vibrating over and over and over, and when I pick it up to check what's going on, I see it's stuck on a restart loop. The phone turns on, the "HTC Quietly Brilliant" logo appears for about two seconds, and it turns off, again and again. The same thing happens with the phone connected to a charger, and if I press power+vol down when it's turning on, I get to the bootloader screen, and it shuts down again (can't scroll through the options using the vol keys). The phone is running on the stock ROM, and I did the OTA update like three months ago. Any thoughts on what's going on would be greatly appreciated.

your power button is stuck in press position try press it to release it

The button seems to be fine. It doesn't feel stuck, and has a normal clicky sound. I tapped on it, and wiggled it a bit, and the same thing keeps happening.

yes the button it self is ok but the back side is stuck try hit the phone near to power button with the hand to release it

Either the button is stuck or your power flex cable has malfunctioned. Power Flex Cable can be replaced and should solve this problem - see the below thread I made some time ago regarding this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2638916
My issue was water damage but would cover any damage to the power flex cable.

[Q] One X crashed when charging and won't boot past htc screen or power down.

I went to plug in my one x to charge. The second that I plugged it in, the screen went black. The home and back keys were still lit up. I'm not sure if it auto restarted or I powered it down. After that it seemed like it was just going to restart, but it only got to the htc logo screen. The normal little orange bar showed loading. I think it only does that once normally, now it goes twice. When it finishes that animation, it just sits at the white htc screen.
I haven't modified anything recently. It has been running over a year with no changes. If I hold power down at the screen, the home keys flash every few seconds. After seven flashes, the phone powers down and immediately restarts. There is no way to power it down until it dies. I took it apart and removed the battery for a few minutes, that didn't help at all.
If I home power and volume down, the red charge light comes on a few seconds. It then seems to boot to a black screen. I can't see anything, but the home keys are lit up. If I hold power down a while, it goes back to booting to the white logo screen. I tried hooking it to my computer, but it isn't getting to a point where it is being recognized as being plugged in.
I assume the thing is beyond help, but any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

"home power and volume down"?
If you mean HOLD power and volume down, trying to get to bootloader, and you cannot, you're not going to be able to do anything else with and to your phone I am afraid.
If you ARE holding down the Home key in the process, I am not sure if it makes a difference but don't.
thanks

Sorry, you are correct, it should have said hold. I tried to edit it, but it wouldn't let me edit so soon after posting as a new member. My phone has been through a lot. In the process of opening the case many times, the volume bar got damaged. I have to use something metal against volume down to manually trigger it. I'm fairly certain that it has tried to boot into the loader though. I guess the charger had a short and fried some memory..

Brick maybe?

Hello there, I was installing Recovery using this, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1746682, I only went up to the first part of unrooting the phone where it asks me to connect my and install te recovery, my phone after the root did not want to turn on. I tried using the Volume +/- along with the home key, nothing, it just vibrates and nothing. I tried pulling out the battery and the same thing happened, no matter what I did, it vibrates and won't turn on. Also when I hook it up to the charger and try turning on it vibrates and it keeps vibrating in loops, around 2-3 sec apart. What is wrong with my phone? Please don't tell me it's a brick, I just got it yesterday ;p

I think this kit is honestly the easiest way to brick your phone. There are simply too many options, most of them have no real use for this phone, and the free version never gets updated. Honestly think it's a bad move for people who are new to the game.
To get in download mode:
Start with the phone off.
Press and hold the home button and volume down button.
Press the power button until the phone vibrates.
Release the power button.
To get in recovery mode.
Start with the phone off.
Press and hold the home button and volume up button.
Press the power button until the phone vibrates.
Release the power button.
Release the volume up and home button when the blue text appears in the top left corner of the screen.
If these won't work, you are bricked. Time for JTAG.
I agree 100%. That kit seemed pretty helpful for some when this was still pretty new, but recently it seems there are more reports of failures (or worse) than successes. When you get this fixed I suggest reading all the stickies and then take it from there.
Good luck

[Q] Rooted Kindle Fire Stuck

Howdy!
It was literally AGES ago that I rooted my Kindle.
It's been totally fine forever! Then last night it needed charged so I plugged it in and went to bed. When I got up in the morning the power button was lit a nice shade of green, showing it was charged....
So later in the day I went to turn it on... nothing.... So I held the button to reset it.... After a bit I pressed the button...
The Blue KindleFire screen came up (with the statement at the bottom to "Press power button for boot menu...)
I didn't press anything, but it acts like I did and soon I see the three choices of "Normal Boot, Recovery, Reset Boot Mode" and the lines on each end move from choice to choice over and over....
That's all it does! I can press the power button and it doesn't do a thing. It just keeps scrolling.... If I hold the power button, it'll shut off after awhile.... but when trying to boot it again, it goes right back to that boot menu, scrolling through my choices and that's it. I have yet to find a way out of that.
I've tried plugging it into the charge to see if for some reason it's a power issue, but it does the same thing. I've tried plugging it into the PC via USB cable and it does the same thing!
Anyone have any suggestions or pointers? I'm kinda lost at this point, I've never had an issue that I couldn't recover it from until now, and I've had this thing for a good number of years.
Sounds like a hardware issue, specifically the power button is sticking. Try using an object see if the button is physically depressed. If not, then it us the switch inside.

I can press the button though. I can press and Hold it to reset it, and I can press it to get it to go on again.
I guess that is possible, but if it was intermittent, the times I've just pressed the button repeatedly to try to get it to do something should have gotten me past that scrolling boot menu.
Thing is, the reason it is scrolling is from an input from the button. If the button is not the issue, then it is a circuit problem. Bad news. Better to have been the button.

Can it boot into reecovery?
Sadly no, the PC will not see it. It doesn't get far enough to be seen.
I did find a little more info. I used the Kindle Fire Utility 0.9.6 and it's running FFF 1.4a I believe? (bootup screen with the Blue Kingle Fire Logo).
The weird thing is, if I have the USB cable plugged into it and hit the power button, it won't come at all. I have to unplug it in order to get the boot sequence to come up.
If I remember correctly the boot options menu always scrolled, you just pressed the button when it was on the choice you wanted.
I did launch the KF Utility but when trying to do anything it just saying waiting for device because it isn't seeing the darn thing...
I really hope I'm not screwed. What really sucks was I had JUST been thinking about running the clean system image to restore it in TWRP but it did this before I decided to go ahead and do that.
My menus only scrolled if I press the power button. Otherwise, it boots whatever the menu is on. That is why I suspect the boot program is receiving an input from the button.

Well... I'm reading elsewhere the same thing you said.... yet mine has ALWAYS scrolled since I first loaded it and only advanced when I pressed the button when it was on the choice.....
Perhaps my power button has been having an issue for far longer than I realized... yet when the system did boot it didn't act like it was being pressed constantly.
Such a confusing issue.... sadly it's looking more and more like I've just got a Kindle I can do nothing more with

Phone will not boot past samsung logo.

Hi everyone,
As the title says, my phone simply will not boot past the samsung logo. I insert the battery, a few seconds later there is a vibration. Then the samsung logo appears, and it shuts down. It does not reboot itself; it just suddenly dies. After it the shutdown, all buttons are unresponsive; holding the power button will do nothing.
I have tried plugging in the charger both with and without the battery inside the phone. When I plug in the charger, the red LED that indicates that it is charging turns on. After a few seconds it vibrates, then almost immediately the red LED light flickers off, and everything is just as unresponsive as before. Leaving the charger inside will yield no results or change.
I have tried to turn my phone on with the battery and charger plug into the phone with a few variations. First, charger first, then battery. The battery is inserted within a second or two of plugging in the charger. The red LED light appears, then the light turns off right before the vibration. The screen shows the battery logo that indicates the phone is charging. This image appears for a few seconds, then it becomes unresponsive as before. Second, battery first, then charger. There are two more variations for this. One is battery, then plugging in the charger right after the battery is put in (before the vibration is felt). After the vibration, the battery logo appears for a few seconds before it shuts down and becomes unresponsive again. The second variation is: battery first, then vibration, then right after the charger. Same result as before.
I have also tried to remove both sim card and sd card. No avail.
I have tried to boot it into recovery mode, as well as download mode. Nevertheless, the phone will shut down before getting into any menus.
I have tried to tap the power button multiple times in case the power button and home button were stuck or jammed. However, I doubt this is the problem.
My computer will not recognize my phone, since I cannot boot it past the samsung logo.
I have tried using different batteries, same issue.
I am aware that a factory reset may be an option that I may have to take, but I have some important data on my phone that is not backed up, and I would very much prefer not to lose it all. I would appreciate any insight on how to fix my problem.
Thanks!
Mine was doing this for a bit until I realized my power button was stuck. The button seemed to press fine and all and looked fine physically, but the contact was somehow stuck. Take apart the phone, direct some compressed air into it using the little 'straw' for the nozzle to focus it... Also try pressing the button a bunch of times hard, etc. And see if that helps.

Fixed it! Opened it up, jiggled around with the power button stuff. I had no idea what I was doing. I blew, with my mouth, really hard on it. Now it works. laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwll
You helped! Thankyou
Now would be a good time to backup that important data. A lot of the time, that's is just a temporary fix and it may happen again.

Razer phone blank screen (no boot logo) and only vibrates once when boot up then turn off - help!

So this morning my Razer Phone was all fine until it suddenly vibrates twice then the screen goes blank while in my pocket. I once thought it was just ran out of battery so i left it charging for a moment. When i tried to turn it back on, the phone only vibrates once and the screen turns on but appears blank. Even the razer boot logo doesn't shows up. After few seconds the phone comes back turned off.
The charging port is fine so are the charging cable and the adapter. Power button, fingerprint, volume button are all working normally. I also can feel a little heat on the phone while charging just like usual. I think the hardware seems to be just fine. I've tried to get into the recovery mode by holding down power and volume up button for 7-15 seconds but didn't work. It only brings it into the 'blank screen' again like when i'm trying to boot it up before.
I don't know how could this happened all of sudden, i never did anything fancy to it apart from playing games, using apps and such.
Any help would be appreciated.
There maybe two reasons there is a bug with you droid or apps & services running tho or an app or a mod you installed corrupted your systen
did it reboot in recovery or fastboot
u can try to boot to bootloader on PC , turn off your phone then plug in PC by cable, hold volume down + power button to boot to bootloader .
