Hello everyone
I got my DHD last week on tuesday, very happy with it so far!
So I was playing Slice It for about an hour and a half, and my battery went from 100% to 56%.
Battery Use shows this:
1h 36m since unplugged
Display 58%
Slice It 29%
akmd 5%
Android System 4%
Cell Standby 2%
Mediaserver 2%
Wi-Fi was off the whole time, brightness was at about 15-20%, and the volume at about 35%...
Is this normal for the battery to run out so quickly?
P.S. I did charge the battery for 8 hours before any use like the manual said.
Cheers
Yeah its normal for a less than 2 week old battery. My battery got progressively better every week up until week 5 or so.
Your battery will get better. Plus you were using your phone quite heavily so everything sounds about normal.
The battery doesn't last too long on the DHD. I've noted marked improvements by using a combination of JuiceDefender and AdvancedTaskKiller minimising bg apps.
is this normal if you are playing with your phone alot, im always picking it up to do something or another but my drain is about 1% a minute
are you guys getting this as well
edit
turning fastboot off seems to be increasing this to 1% every 2 mins, anyone else noticed this
dial *#*#3424#*#* (charge battery first 100%)
to do battery test (through more test then battery test then run)
good battery is 88% remaining after 1 hour test, airplane mode, 100% brightness
edit:
doing a battery test now, so far its 95% remaining at 100% brightness and been running for 25 minutes, apparently 88% remaining is good!
edit
running for 37 mins and now at 92%
edit2
running for 60 minutes and usage was 88% at 100% brightness
Haven't noticed anything that extreme yet. But on the other hand I do not play 3D games that are really taxing the system. I just finished a 30min session of playing Secret Of Monkey Island in ScummVM + made two short calls and lost <10% of battery charge.
I have the screen set on auto brightness. Running totally stock and this is only the second charge. Not too bad I guess.
I am having the same issue too! Because of this, my battery drops to 50% usually after about 3 to 4 hours.
My best guess is that the battery is not fully calibrated.
updated thread
Hope you don't mind...
Coming from a Samsung Galaxy s2
Thing i hated about the S2 was not so much the battery drain but the terribly slow charging time, Sorry to mention a fruit phone, but my wifes IP4 would charge almost twice as fast than my S2.
How quick does the ONE X charge?
Does the battery last 7-8 hours with normal usage (tricky to tell, as it depends on what normal I guess)
Does it get really hot?, as the SGS2 did with some games, almost to the point of having to put it down it was so hot
thanks John
Battery Monitor tells.me that the average
0% to 100% time is 4hr 49mins, though it will probably be a little bit quicker than that if you don't count all the times I've been playing with it while charging.
It does seem to take a long time to charge, and you have to remember that the battery is 25% bigger than on the ip4 (1800mAh vs 1420mAh ) so it will probably take 25% longer ish.
It does get warm when charging and gaming simultaneously but not so that you have to put it down.
And battery life is excellent when the screen is mainly off which is my use case. I stream music most if the day and its fine for me, but as soon as you start using the screen it does start to tumble.
Hope that helps. I really love the phone, and the screen is just immense.

i always thought if you use a charger with more amps, the phone will charge faster. i use an 2 amps usb charger and from 20% to 80% it charged within half hour last night, but the phone was off.
the question is, do you prefer touchwiz or htc sense ? i dont like both of them, so i still wait for a great none sense rom.
About charging...
Wall charger, 1Ah output
- 3.5-4 hrs, with the screen off
- add 30% time if you are watching a movie;
- add 45% if using the phone for browsing over 3G or WiFi;
- prepare for slow discharge if playing demanding 3D games;
USB computer output
- 5 to 7 hrs (the less you fiddle with it, the faster it will charge)
About daily usage:
Give or take 10% of these times, of course - based on personal experience
22-24 hrs total time of wich
- 2.5 screen time used for browsing via 3G or WiFi;
- 30 to 50' of talking
- autobrightness always ON,
- autosync off;
You can get over 3.5 hrs of screen time and some 1 hrs of talk time within a span of 15 hrs.
Gaming will bring MASSIVE battery drain, especially 3D games;
Of course, signal strengh is also important when talking or browsing. If you have autobrightness on during the day, in well lit areas it will obviously eat a LOT of battery as opposed to manual low brightness;
These average times I got on both Leedroid 6.1.0 and InsertCoin 6... ROMs using the stock kernel provided. Been testing them for about two weeks.
Cheers

The issue with the battery is that is a Li-Po (Lithium-Polymer-Akkumulator) Battery and for this there is no quick-charge. The charge it´s a bit longer that with a Li-On Battery but the duration is great.
I usually charge it overnight using computer USB, and it will be fully charged in the morning.
If I charge it using charger, it takes about 3-4 hours (1A output).
Battery drains depends on how you use.
Screen drain most battery, internet and games also drain battery.
I used to switch off auto brightness, and turn brightness to 0%, then use Screen Adjuster to auto adjust within that 0%
The average temperature is around 35-40 degree after using it for a while indoor.
If you use it outdoor, it will get hotting up faster.
If it is under sunlight (e.g. taking photo), it is easy to go over 45 degree or even 50!!
It takes 200 minutes (or 3 hours and 20 minutes) to charge my HOX from 0% to 100%. As for getting hot; mine sometimes does but never to the point of having to put it down. Just hotter than it usually is, but nothing unusual really.
Hello,
i am facing problem that my Phone (LG -Optimums E790) battery discharging very fast, i fully charges (100%) my phone at night and switch off it, in morning when i turning on it, the battery status was 63%, its mean 37% percent battery is discharge on switch off position. when i uses any application like browsing, game etc, battery continuously discharge, hardly 40 to 50 Minutes, battery was fully discharge
Please guide me for solution
Since the update to FVC7 my battery drains much faster than usual. During the 6-7 night hours it loose abt 10% and after around 8-9 hours of moderate use the battery rich around 20-25%. Better battery stats does not show any thing unusual.
any help will be appreciated.
I only noticed that Screen On time drains battery like crazy just having Display set to 1080p (Medium) and refresh rate on 60Hz (low).
For me it's "only" the display that drains battery very hard. Screen off time is pretty good, but I have a lot of Apps in Standby and Deep Standby.
But BBS was never adapted to Android 12 and Samsungs on Battery service is missing a lot. Look into RAM optimization which Apps are popping up that shouldn't do. Even if it's very low on RAM, if it's an App that hadn't been used since last boot and doesn't need to work in background, than it should go directly to Standby or Deep Standby.
I might be off, but as I'm looking at it: With (Deep) Standby option, Android 12 finally adopted Greenify a long missing feature on every Anroid OS.
