where can i find the zip? on my internal sdcard > update.zip ?
In fact i received 2 ota, first 233MO and the second 3Mo
We poor people here in Canada,,,we dont get any updates......I asked acer support Canada and about update release region schedule, and was told that it is set in Taiwan,,and that they have no idea ,who gets what when .
Wonder how this will effect rooted users?

Well there was a scheduled ICS update planned for shortly after Xmas. Could this be it? Have either of the two updates been flashed to the tab? I'm curious about the
3mo update.

I wonder if its the same exact 3.2.1 one i posted in the ROM section.
As I posted in another thread, when I was corresponding with acer support they told me that Canada was scheduled for the 3.21 update in late December or early January
So it is logical to assume that IF the ICS update comes in january ,,(and remember the only confirmation that there will be one,was from an acer rep in Poland.),that it will likely not come to regions such as Canada till april/may if ever
.
Please check "/cache/fota_dn/" before update!
check for what?? I dont seem to have a fota_dn folder anyway

That was meant for anyone whose receiving the OTA prompt. The OTA package is cached in that certain location before ur tab initializes the update, because once the update is applied, that package is deleted from that directory.
So....extract and copy the update before ur tab uses it, and then upload for everyone else to enjoy
Atleast, that's how I took it

I just got TWO updates here in Québec - 2.007.01 and 2.007.04.
At least the headphone/speaker bug is fixed.
Is the complete list of new features/fixes available somewhere?
Now to re-root my A100.....

3.2.1 seemed to fix the headphone bug, even the "unofficial" version from xda fixed it.
Good question, I am wondering as well.
Got the two updates in Ontario as well once I went back to 3.2.
Also in the Netherlands: at jan 2 installed 2.007.01 and 2.007.04.
The only difference I noticed is the market page layout; for me the old version was fine.

Hi im new to the nexus scene and i have some questions so pls help me if you can:
1.Can my nexus 7 32gb wifi only edition bought from america get updates when i bring it home to europe?
2.Is rooting a nexus device really worth it? because i want to keep stock rom because its stable and the only thing im changing is the kernel.
or flash stock images if they can be installed with a custom kernel.
3. Also can i root it if i update it to the latest update (Current version is JWR66N)
Thanks in advance

May I ask something as well?
For a nexus, flashing a custom kernel requires root or unlock bootloader?
What is the use of unlock bootloader on a nexus device?
I came from a sony phone and that require unlocking bootloader to install custom kernel..not so sure about nexus.

Well you need to unlock your bootloader in order to root. I think you do need to unlock. But unlocking the bootloader is super easy so I don't see a reason not to.

BE CAREFUL of updates. Newer updates change the touchscreen driver!
If the touchscreen is working perfectly out of the box, DON'T UPDATE OTA.
If it works out of the box, I would recommend not updating and/or just flashing an updated custom rom without the touchscreen updates.

yes, but you won't be getting any OTA updates if you're rooted. it'll just pop up a message saying that your device has been modified and software updates are not be available. you'll have to update manualy

Does anyone know of any change log?
the android version is 4.4.2 only (i hoped for 4.4.4 when I saw the update)
update size around 68 mb
Kernal compilation date 1 Oct 2014
i747UCUFNJ1
I think some time ago I saw a rumor about getting 4.4.4, but I am not sure.
I periodically check for updates on my phone and did so yesterday. I have to wait about 5-6 hours before I can check again.
Just got it on my stock phone. It is UCUFNJ1 and it's still 4.4.2
So much for the rumor of getting 4.4.4

Change log is here: http://www.att.com/esupport/article.jsp?sid=KB415621&cv=820&_requestid=2612019#fbid=UM4lpkyJ71-
It just looks like more bloat and a patched kernel so towelroot will no longer work. It might even lock the bootloader.

I had rooted my son's Galaxy Note 2 to put viper. Tibu. Greenify. But let everything stock. He was pushed the update overnight and I'm afraid it does soft brick a rooted phone. You need Odin files to get back... We can't find one that doesn't fall to download.

noob here, if i install this, can i still get future updates such as security patches? or future versions of marshmallow?
I am still on DOI2...
DOI6 files need to be installed first, right?
I used this procedure to update my Note 5 (insurance claim recently replaced my Note 4) so if you have any questions, I may be able to help. It looks like in order to use this file you'd have to be on firmware ending in 6.
Keep in mind, on the Note 5 there were a couple different updates posted on the server, so this one y'all found may not be the final update.
Also, if you use this via adb, it will wipe everything on the phone.

There needs to be a way to flash back to an official release. I haven't read through the Note 4 threads to see if there is. If there isn't a way to flash back, I wouldn't install this because if this turns out to be not the final OTA, you wouldn't be able to get the latest or future OTAs.

I think you can put this update on SD card and if you adb from SD card will not wipe your phone. On note 5 we did not have this option.

If this is not finale MM version you need to flash back to version you on now. There was no problem flashing back at all on Note 5, so I don't think there will be with Note 4.
For all others I will look for previous updates so you can update up to last official release.

Downgrade from 5.1.1 Lollipop back to 5.0.1 or 4.4.4:
The 5.1.1 “bootloader” is secured, so downgrading from Android 5.1.1 and returning back to Android 5.0.1 and or 4.4.4 is not possible anymore.
